Shades of lilac

Hi everyone, hope you're all well and enjoying the olympics...I can't believe how much of it I've watched this time, I've only ever watched the swimming really before...

Anyway here's a card I made this morning, I hope you like it...

I thought I'd try something different today so I've used the saturated canary digi image for the first time and coloured in shades of violet using copics. It's also the first time I've attempted black/grey hair, I usually go for brown or blond.  The backing papers are Forever Friends and Wild Rose Studio Bella. Both have been distressed using a Tim Holtz distressing tool and are matted with black card. I've added 3 flowers, the centre one has been made with a tonic petal pairs punch. I've coiled the wires on the outer two using a very thin ball tool. I've added 4 gems with my heat setter and some ribbon and lace from my stash...

Bella with presents

Hi everyone, I've been busy working on some bridesmaid, flower girl and page boy thank you cards for a friend but I've managed to make a card inbetween (whilst waiting for glue to dry). I've used my lovely Bella with presents stamp and coloured it with copics.
I've cut her out with a Spellbinder circle die and mounted her on a doily. The backing paper is also Bella. Behind the image I've added a strip of net with sequins running through it. I've had this in my stash for years. I can't imagine what possessed me to buy it, it must have been cheap! I spotted a challenge by Shopping our stash  called 'What was I thinking??' and thought of this. It made me think of something to do with it and I'm pleased with how it turned out. I've added some glittery ribbon and various peeloffs from my stash. The flower has been made with a tonic petal pairs punch with Martha Stewart 'branch' leaves, with I punched from white card and coloured with a copic pen to match the grass in the image. The butterfly is Cheery Lynn.

CHNC Challenge 84 - Favourite colours

Hi everyone, I'm really happy to be Guest Designer for Crafty Hazelnut this week. Hazel's was one of the first challenges I ever entered when I started blogging earlier this year. The challenge this week is to make a Christmas card using your favourite colours. I just love the combination of pink and black, although I've struggled with the photo colours, but have never made a Christmas card using it....until now...
I've had these backing papers in my stash for years. I must admit I had my stash for years before I became seriously addicted to crafting earlier this year.... All papers are edged with Spun Sugar and matted with black card. The image is Totally Gorjuss (Winter Wonder) and this is thef first card I've made with it. It's also the first card I completed with my copics. The snowflake is a Spellbinder one and I've added heat set gems. I've used Sakura glitter pens on the dots on her hat and wellies.

I've decorated the inside too...
I hope you'll join us this week at Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge and maybe you'll be lucky and win 3 packs of die cuts of your choice from Crimson Cloud.

I would like to enter this for the following:-
Milkcoffee challenge - tic tac toe (2 or more designer papers, Sentiment, embossing on snowflake)
Crafty Catz - Pink

Thanks for visiting, I hope to see you again soon

18th Birthday card

Hi everyone, I'm here to share a card I've just made for one of my daughter's friends. I know she won't see it cos they're away in Malia at the moment, lucky things....
The image is a lovely freebie from Saturated Canary which I've coloured using copics. I'm loving these new pens. I've added gems to her hair and glossy accents to her lips. The flourishes are Cherry Lynn. The backing paper is Provo craft Bitty Scrap Pads Tropical colours and I've matted everything with black card. The base card is shocking pink. I've added a LOTV sentiment matted with a Spellbinder die. The roses on the ruffled lace have been glittered with glamour dust, which I'm now wearing! The pearls on the flourishes have been heat set and I've added a couple of heart pins with extra pearls.

Hi everyone, I'm here with a card to share. I've been meaning to make a card for Link Up For Pink for a while now. I've used a gorgeous freebie image from Saturated Canary.
I've coloured using copics. The backing papers are Pink Parfait and everything is edged with spun sugar distress ink and matted with black card. I've added pink glitter to the ribbon on the t-shirt and to the border across the bottom, which has been punched with a Martha Stewart Cherry Blossom punch.

WOYWW 165

Hi everyone, can't believe it's Wednesday again already. Here's what's on my desk today...
As you can see, my little friend came to assist me with the photos. Can't seem to be in my craft room without her now, bless her...
Here she is giving me those puppy dog eyes...

Here you can see a couple of projects I'm working on for a friend's wedding. At the back you can see the prototype 'Bridesmaid thankyou' card with a pile of nearly done ones. Just need to do the flowers. At the front you can see the Edwin stamp I've been practising on with my new copics, ready to design a pageboy thank you card. You can see one of the copics boxes...
Here you can see the full set of copics. I've rearranged them according to the colour chart and made tables for the front of the boxes so I know where each colour is. This is much easier than I had them, still in the boxes they came in. You can see the colour chart I filled in, I use this loads (hehe tha sounds like I've been using it for ages, I only got the pens on Friday!) You can also see a digi image which I've used to follow a brilliant hair tutorial which you can find here.
This is my first attempt at doing hair like this and I'm quite pleased with the result. I'll be looking out for loads more tutorials to follow but I'm loving these pens already.

Thanks for looking, I'm going to hop over to Julia's Stamping Ground.
I hope you'll come and have a look what everyone else has been up to.

See you soon
