The Big Boys

We were at the beach during the same time as the MisKelley Clan. Ellie loves playing with her big boy cousins. We have been trying to get her to learn their names but so far no luck. She likes to keep things simple. She had a great time chasing Meghan, Brendan and Ryan all over the beach and taking some time to destroy all the sand castles that they had made. You can see in the pictures that they really do love each other and Ellie can't wait to see them in a couple of weeks.

Love Sand...Hate Ocean

We had another wonderful Farrey Family vacation in Bethany Beach. There was a ton of things to do with the kids and Ellie was exhausted at the end of each day. Ellie loved the ocean last year but the water was clearer and calmer in Turks and Caicos and she let us know that she wanted nothing to do with the Atlantic ocean. She had a great time playing in the sand with her Kimmy and Kenzie. Ellie got to spend lots of quality time with her Uncle John and I am sure he came away from the vacation with a new found respect for birth control. We all had a great time and big thanks to my parents again for the vacation treat.

The Make Up Artist

Ellie loves to play with make up and convinced Aunt Mary that she knew how to put it on by herself. I think she might have a good chance of growing up to be a clown with her current make up style. Here's a tip for all mothers out there...don't let the kids play with 8 hour lipstick and if they do it will eventually come off with lipstick remover. We are very thankful that it all came off and she didn't end up looking like a stage act for our annual pig roast

Graduation Day

Ellie graduated from her first pre-school class in May and the kids got to celebrate with a big party on the playground. Ellie got a stellar report card and the teacher said she as a delight to have in class. She has been lucky enough to go to several camps at the community center and see lots of her fellow classmates. She is very excited to start school again and this is a welcome change since she cried the whole first month last year. She will be back with Ms. Robin and I know it will be an easy transition this year.

A Whole Lot of Kids

Happy Summer Everyone and please excuse the fact that my blog has been on hiatus. The summer time is my busiest time with work and vacations. We have had a great summer and things seem to be slowing down a bit.
We started off our summer with a visit from my best friend Whitney and her triplets. It was lots of fun having four kids in the house for a week. We were lucky enough to have Whitney's sister in law come over with her two kids to enjoy in the summer fun. I think Ellie and Jonah might be starting an early love affair. They loved spending time together and Ellie still talks about him to me.
The kids enjoyed playing in the pool and going out for long walks down through the woods to Beaver Dam Creek. The parents enjoyed the well deserved drink or two and time to catch up after bed time. It was great having Whitney here for a visit and I try very hard to convince her that she would really love living back up here but so far she is still Georgia bound.

Walking To Gramdma's House

My parents watch Ellie four days a week and Ellie loves to be a big girl and walk to their house. We allow her to do this since my mom meets her half way and we can watch her from our front porch. I can't believe what a big girl she has become, but she will always be my little girl.

Lesson Learned!

Mommy learned a very important lesson this weekend. When I send Ellie up to get her bathing suit next time... I might want to tell her it's in the dresser. You can manage my surprise when she told me that she couldn't find it. I drag myself upstairs to see what she was talking about and this is what I found. I give her credit for trying to find it in the closet.
