Sunday

We usually go over to my parents house for dinner on Sunday, but since they are up in Utah right now visiting Brett, we had our own family dinner. Outside, of course.

And then the girls decorated their easy-bake oven cakes. Mmm looks scrumptious, huh.

One of the best parts about eating outside is your children can get as messy as this:

And it's okay!

Beautiful.

G-pa

Last night, Grandpa Bowman and his new bride Dorothy came over for dinner. I thought it was a special night, I am glad that my girls have had the chance to get to know Grandpa. Dorothy read them books, and of course Grandpa sang them songs. We ate outside, since it is our favorite thing to do lately.

And today I am sick. Blah. Hopefully I'll get over it quickly. I think the kids are getting sick too. Really, if one of us gets us, we all get it. Except Jared usually lucks out and avoids it. Not sure how. . .

kite runner

What should a girl and her mama do when the little sister and baby brother are sweetly napping?

Make a kite! Who cares if it doesn't fly!

It is still fun to drag around the yard.

Maybe someday we'll make one that really works. . .

P.S. Head over to Emily's natural baby blog for some very informative info on BPA (scary) and a fun giveaway! Yay for giveaways. There are not many things that are better.

Rory's Special Day

I wanted to keep birthdays simple this year. No party, no friends, just family and cake and a trip to a super secret place that the girls have never been. I think it went over well.

new birthday clothes and mad babies.

rory found true love at build a bear

I think she could have spent all day in that store.

Finally, a lambie of her own. up until now, Ella has had first dibs on all sheepies & lambies.

now let's move on to the cake and presents, shall we?

I had some cake making problems.

Rory wanted chocolate chocolate chocolate. A girl after my own heart!

Yum, chocolate chip cookie cake. . (vanilla cake with chocolate chips, had to settle for vanilla after I used up all the baking chocolate on cake number 1)

Rory was thrilled to get some teeny tiny onesies for her baby.

Now what are we going to do with 2 four-year olds in the house??

To Miss Rory Eileen on her birthday

My dear little Rory
never a bore!
I am so glad you are here!

Your cuteness overwhelms me
your laughter infects me.
You are nothing short of radiant in every way.

Those big bright blue eyes
those platinum curls and short little bangs.
that matter of fact tone that is so persistent.

there is no end to the joy that you bring me
I love all that sparkle and shine
that is bursting at the seams of
your petite little self.

Happy Birthday, my lovely little lady
love,
mama
