Egg Hunt #1

Mac attended his first official Easter Egg Hunt yesterday at Preston Hollow Park. It was a really cute event held by the Dallas Pi Phi Alumni Association and they had a great petting zoo and the egg hunt. I did not get any pictures of the petting zoo because Mac was running from donkey to goat to rabbit to guinea pig to duck to llama and I was more interested in protecting the animal's lives than snapping a picture at that point!

Back to the egg hunt...Mac had fun running around but really did not care about the actual hunting process. He found a few eggs but he was WAY more interested in the juice box and snacks they gave out and whatever treats were inside of the eggs!

Anyone out there???

I don't really think that saying I am a "little behind" in posting makes up for 10 months without a post on the ol' blog......but honestly, I just did not want to blog. But now I sort-of do. Especially because I have now figured that 22 months into this parenting thing, there is no way I will EVER do a scrapbook. I just won't. So, here goes another attempt at blogging....you know, for posterity, or prosperity or whatever that word is! My brain is tired today! :)

There is one little thing, though. I am thinking about making my blog private. Have any of you looked into this? Any thoughts, ideas, etc... about the pros/cons of making a blog private? I would love to know any information you may have about this. Thank you!

I will leave you with a picture of Mac and Robert from a few weeks ago when we went to "A Day out with Thomas" in Grapevine, TX and Mac got to ride a train for the first time. There are very few pictures that exist of me in our household....I am always the one taking pictures - and that is fine with me! :)

May Babies

I really think May is one of the busiest months of the entire year...but it is such a wonderful month - not too hot, great for sitting out on patios and it just happens that some of my MOST FAVORITE people on the planet were born in this month. Being the unorganized person that I am, I have forgotten every May birthday so far. I remembered this when I was on my flight to my cousin's wedding in North Carolina and realized....oh my gosh, I missed Anna's birthday...and Kaci's birthday...and the list went on and on.

So...although a measly blog post will not forgive my rudeness, here is a shout out to all of the May babies that I love - and I won't post how old you all are!! :)

May 3 - Jeff Phillips b'day
May 6 - Anna Hancy's b'day
May 7 - Kaci Holland's b'day
May 9 - Cissy Yarbrough and Ann Ellis share this b'day!
May 10 - Heather Hayward's b'day
May 13 - Mac's B'day!
May 14 - Wright Ingram, Jessica Gates and Aaron Keith Stephens all share this day
May 15 - Jack Phillips 1st b'day!
May 19 - Mandy Anderson's b'day
May 22 - Kristin Mannari's b'day
May 23 - Elizabeth Ann Ingram's b'day

Now, the big question is who am I forgetting???? I hope no one - but I know myself too well, and I am sure that I am missing someone.

Happy Birthday to all of the May Babies! I love you all!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope everyone has a very Happy Valentine's Day! I cannot believe our little Valentine turned 9 months old on Friday, February 13th. He weighed 21 lbs. 15 oz. and was 28 3/4 inches. 74th percentile for both height and weight...so still a big boy!

I left Mac overnight for the first time for a really quick trip down to San Antonio with Mary Burton, Lee Anne and 3 of Mary Burton's best friends to go to the Taylor Swift concert. Mary Burton got the concert tickets from Santa Claus and I had the best time getting to spend time with Mary Burton and her friends. Taylor was fabulous and put on a great show! She is a doll....I love her!

Here is a picture of Taylor Swift singing "White Horse". Mary Burton and the girls had seats much closer than ours (Lee Anne and me...a.k.a. the old people) but other than the drunk girl sitting next to us that kept yelling, "Joe Jonas sucks" we had a fabulous time!

Happy Valentine's Day!
XOXOXOXO

For those of you who read the below post yesterday, I am so sad to say that Kristi passed away this morning. The wonderful part is that she is now in Heaven, pain free and cancer free...but my heart breaks for those left here on Earth that will miss her - her husband, 3 boys (their ages are around 6, 3, and 5 months), her parents and the rest of her family and friends.

Lately, I have had very blatant reminders of how precious life is - and how short our time on Earth is. I am more challenged now than ever to make the most of it - not to have regrets. Choose to forgive your husband if he does something that irritates you. Call a friend out of the blue to check on them. Send a card or email to someone just saying that you love them. Don't worry if your house isn't "perfect" or your clothes/shoes/purse aren't on Neiman Marcus' "Top Ten Must Haves for Spring" list. Who cares if you don't make the cutest crafts with your kids or bake the most "gourmet" Valentines Dinner. It's not all bad stuff but it just doesn't matter. I am writing this as a reminder to myself mostly, but I know we all struggle with getting caught up in what the world says we should do and we let those things define us and our self worth. There really is only one word. Jesus. He is all we need.

Another Prayer Request

I would like to ask you all to please pray for Kristi Walker. I do not know Kristi personally, but she is a college friend of some of my friends that went to Baylor. She is in very critical condition as she is fighting cancer - and fighting a very serious infection right now. You can read the below update for their specific prayer requests.

http://www.carepages.com/carepages/KristiWalker/updates/1977954?client_code=unchealthcare&ipc=mur

Kristi is a young wife and mother and I just ask that you join me in praying for Kristi, her husband and children and family and the team of medical professionals that are caring for her in North Carolina.
Thank you!
