We didn't know how much Peyton watched us talk on the phone until he picked one up today put it to his ear and said, "EEEH Dah?" SUPER CUTE! He is such a silly boy who loves to talk! Some times I think he is saying "Yeah" in part of the video. Sorry it's sooo long, but I didn't know how to make it shorter.
We are the Gurney family! We have three boys Porter, Peyton, and Preston and one girl, Clara. Lynn is in his third year of a Prosthodontic Dentistry Residency at The Ohio State. Erin gets to stay home with the boys and Clara and keep busy with them.

Lego my Eggo
So Porter is LOVING waffles. Every time we go to the store he wants to pick out some waffles from the freezer section instead of a candy bar or some other treat. When we get to the Eggo waffles he takes about 5 mins. trying to decide which flavor of waffles he wants to get. It is the funniest thing ever because you'd think he was making the most important decision of his life.

Seen and Heard
There are too many funny things you see and hear every day as a stay at home mother, so here is another seen and heard.
Heard:
After I threw Peyton up into the air and caught him a couple of times Porter says, "Mom, stop doing that, it freaks me out!"
Heard:
Porter- "I'm a Star Wars lover!" (He said this as the kids I was babysitting were coming into the house)
Seen:
Peyton trying to jump on Porter's bed. (He sees his brother do it often shame, shame)
Heard:
Porter- "Mom, you are such a sweetheart, and you are really good at making that cake!"
Heard:
I had just put Porter to bed and started watching one of the shows that I love when I hear from down the hall: "I can't see!" Apparently I was obstructing Porter's view of the television. I had no idea that he could see the TV from his bed.

Happy 1st Birthday Peyter Skater!!!
Today is Peyton's first birthday, yay!!! It's funny because we actually celebrated it yesterday because Lynn is working tonight. It was small, but fun. I loved that Peyton actually dug into his cake. I knew he was finished when he started throwing it every where. He was very cute. He liked his birthday presents especially the ball and the bubble machine. We played catch with his new ball and he is getting to be a good little thrower. This past year has flown by so fast. It seems like Peyton has been apart of our family forever. I made him an alligator cake which turned out super cute and is probably one of my favorites that I've made so far. I will post pictures later because they are on our desk top and I'm writing this from our lap top. Happy Birthday Peyton!!

Happy Dad's Day!
This post is for all of the fathers that we love!!!
First of all my father-in-law is such a great guy. He loves going camping and fishing and we are excited to go with him this summer. He loves his grandkids so much. Porter loves it when grandpa shares his M&Ms with him. He is a very strong priesthood holder who loves his family and the Lord very much. We love him!!!
Brad the "rad dad", as we call him, is the best father anyone could ever ask for. He is so much fun and is always excited to talk to any of us whenever we call. He has been willing to help us whenever we have needed it. He is a strong priesthood holder and a hard worker. I remember working out in the yard with him when I was younger. He always worked right next to me and my sisters. He is a wonderful grandpa and the boys just love to be with him. We love you dad!!!
Lynn is such an awesome dad! Both Porter and Peyton just adore him. I think that if they had a choice between the two of us, they both would choose him. Lynn takes the time to play with the boys. They love to play hide and seek with him and also baseball in the house. Lynn is a great priesthood holder who loves his wife, kids, and most of all the Lord. We love you Lynn!!!

Peyton Walking and Porter Running
Peyton is getting this walking thing down more and more each day. He has taken about 6-8 steps at the most, but he will soon be running just like his brother Porter. One of my favorite parts about this video is that Porter is running back and forth between us and jumping. What a goof ball!

MIdwest "Tornadic" Warnings
Rotating Tornadic Clouds
I bet you didn't know that "tornadic" is a word. We didn't either until the other day. The local weather man used it repeatedly while keeping us informed on the state of the crazy weather we were having. Every station had the news on reporting on the threat of more tornados. It was a pretty crazy day. When the area of city it which you live is thought to be in a real tornado threat really loud sirens (air rade like) sound telling you that you should stay inside and preferably in your basement or in a room most protected from the outside. The sirens were constantly sounding in our neighborhood for about 2 and half hours. Most of the time I was outside looking at the amazing clouds and taking a couple pictures/videos here and there. Erin and the boys spent quite a bit of time in the bathroom watching Toy Story II on the portable DVD player. At one point I too went inside because the news man was reporting that Down Town Omaha was in direct line with the next real threat. Since we live down town I thought it might be appropriate to go inside and hide in the bathroom. We were about 35 minutes away from the nearest tornado that actually touched down. We were about a 45 minute drive away from the tornado that went through the boy scout camp. Fortunately for us nothing happened too close to our home. I post a couple of the pictures I grabbed while I was outside. Their not the best, but our camera isn't the best either.

Seen and Heard
Heard- Porter, "Mom there's a tomato!" (Instead of tornado)
Seen- Peyton taking three steps and standing with no help. Hopefully we will have a video posted soon.
Heard- "Mom, the next baby will be a baby girl." (No, that is not an announcement just a prediction from Porter)
Seen and Heard- Peyton banging on the door of the inside of the bathroom and Porter running away. Porter had turned off the lights in the bathroom and shut the door with Peyton in there. Peyton was happy because the bathroom is his favorite room to sneak into.
Heard- Porter singing, "It's too late to apologize, it's too late!" (He's getting quite good at memorizing the lyrics to songs)
Seen- Peyton eating a rolley polley bug, a rock, and a piece of glass off the sidewalk (scary, I know).
Heard- Porter: "Peyton is a misfit" (he had just seen Rudolf the red nose reindeer)

Omaha Royals Game, then the emergency room
On Friday night we went to an Omaha Royals game with a group of friends. It was a double header so we were there a long time. It was fun though. Porter especially like the mascots: KC, Spike and the big peanut. We stayed until it was over and watched the fireworks after ward. Porter thought that they were too loud and continued to plug his ears even after they had finished. Peyton wasn't sure what to think of the fireworks. We think that he liked them when we were plugging his ears. We got home around 11:00 pm. It was a late night already for the kids. Peyton woke up around 1:45 and couldn't breathe very well. He had a bad wheezy cough, so we decided to take him to the emergency room. When we got there his cough had stopped and he could breathe again. The doctor said he had an upper respiratory infection. We went home exhausted and Porter was wide awake, so him and Lynn stayed up and then fell asleep to a movie. What a night!
Mom and Lisa's Trip to Omaha
We had a great time when Mom and Lisa were here. It was the very first time Lisa has come to visit me since I've been married. She finally made it after 5 years! Way to be Lisa. I won't hold it against her. They came because we bought Mom and Dad's old Honda Accord. We are very excited to have two cars now especially on Sundays when Lynn has to go to church two hours early. A day or so after they got here our Nissan started acting up and it turned out that we needed a new Knocker sensor. It's just ironic that it happened right after our new car got here. I think that the Lord was watching out for us there. While Lisa and Mom were her we went to the zoo, the children's museum twice, Elmwood Park, PF Changs, and the outlet malls. Too bad it was raining most of the time they were here because we would have loved to go to the sprinkler park too. Lynn was so nice to watch Micah and Porter and take them to the store while us girls went shopping. Porter and Micah got along pretty good, but at church during the closing song Porter decked Micah in the face with his fist. Micah was teasing Porter and Porter couldn't take it so he punched him. Both boys got in trouble and said they were sorry and were best buds after that. Hopefully Lisa will want to come and visit again. We are so glad they came!
