Missionary Matt Club

Lynn's brother Matt is serving an LDS mission in Oklahoma.  For Christmas he surprised the whole family with Tee shirts that he designed that said "Missionary Matt Club".  Here we are sporting ours!  We still need to send him a copy of us with the shirts on.  We love Matt and pray for him every day!

Pictures of Preston

Here are some updated pictures of baby Preston.  He started smiling this week and everyone is so excited!  I'm not that great at taking pictures ever, so these are some of the best I've gotten recently.

Baby Preston

We are so glad to have our little Preston here!  It was a very easy pregnancy for me.  I had a lot of energy and had no complications.  What a blessing!  I was scheduled for an induction on 12-12 at 8 am, but this little guy had different plans for us.  I went to pick up my mom from the airport around 10 pm I was having contractions the whole way there and back, but I didn't think much of it.  We came back home and I said, "These contractions are about 3 minutes apart and they hurt."  Lynn and my mom said, "Call the doctor!"  So I did and we ended up going to the hospital around midnight.  They made me walk the halls for a bit and bounce on a big ball.  They checked me and I was at a 6, so they let me have an epidural.  That was AMAZING!  I didn't feel a thing after that and was able to get a few moments of sleep.  Next thing I know it was time to push and three contractions later he was here!  He was born at 6:55 am.  He weighed 8 lbs. 12 oz.  We love him so much!

Our first family photo...I love how it captures the chaos of having four kids!

Porter loves little Preston

The kids loved coming and visiting.  They ate popsicles and held their baby brother.

Where did time go?

This is an update from us...we have been so busy these past few months, I thought I'd put up a few pictures.

Soccer Saturday number 2 Fall 2011

Rain or shine the boys will play soccer and yesterday was a great example of that. The rain actually stopped, but it was cold. It seemed as thought Columbus was the only place in the nation that was cold. Out west it was in the 90's, but here it was in the 50's. Anyway, both the boys played great. Peyton was great about running around the field. He looked like he was having a blast. He somehow managed to score a couple goals. His team is pretty stacked as far as 4 and 5 year old kids are concerned. I think the final score was around 14 to 0; similar to last week. Porter's game was a lot more competitive. He was amazing. He literally dribbled the ball the complete length of the field, in and out of multiple defenders a couple times. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to score a goal. One time his teammate kicked it about the same time as he did, after he had dribbled through a couple defenders and score the goal. The other teams goalie was actually really good. Porter was pretty upset at first that he wasn't able to score a goal. He got over it and I think he's pretty determined to try even harder next time. We remind them that the only thing that is important, at least the two rule of our family, to do your best and have fun doing it. Anyway, here a couple pictures from their games.

Porter after dribbling around the whole other team. The goalie stopped his shot.

This shows how much fun it is to play defense on Porter's team because their offense is so good.

Lego Master Preparation

Peyton wanted to build a Lego Robot as one of the Lego Club Jr building challenges. As we were trying to figure out what a robot might look like, Porter had the great idea to build a huge pyramid. We were surprised that we actually had enough Legos build such a structure. Pretty fun!

1st day of school

Porter had his first day of school about a week and a half ago. He is in 2nd grade now! I can hardly believe it. So far he loves it...let's hope that enthusiasm lasts!
