Friday Favorites v1 {discount alert}

One of my favorite sites to peruse is Etsy. I could look for hours and hours. If only I could buy all the treasures I find on there. Here's a few of my favorite items lately:

Update:  Some of these awesome shops have offered discount codes just for YOU! Scroll down to see the details!

I am in love with this. Hinting to the hubby that he should just buy me this 'just because'.

Bought one of these at Craft Lake City and am dying for more.
I need a cute case for my iTouch, And this is perfect.

4. Beatles All You Need is Love Burlap Pillow Cover
Guess what? Aneta from Vintage Designs Reborn is offering you 10% off of any order. Just use the code ELEVEN19OFF10
I love pillows and The Beatles, so there's no question here really.

Love this. And you can take it with you if you move. Need this for the kiddos.

Need 2 of these for the kids. They would love this at church and on long drives.

I try and clean out my purse often and organize it. But I suck. I never can find anything and when I do finally dump it out I find like 14 lipglosses and 5 packs of gum cause I keep buying more thinking my stuff was really gone. I totally need this. Plus Grey and Yellow Chevron? Score.
Can't decide where I would put this. In the living room on the book shelves? In the kids room by their books? Or in my room? Maybe I need three.

It's Fall! And you always need a few new scarves. I love the buttons here!

10. Toddler Crochet Cowl
Cherie from SweetKidCo has graciously offered to give you guys 20% off any order placed now through October 15th. Just use the code: kidcowl when ordering.
Seriously? Cutest thing ever. Chloe totally needs this. We can't have her poor little neck getting cold!

So who's buying?

What are you crushing on lately?

WIWW: Book Club Edition

I know this is a day late. But yesterday was crazy busy. Shopping, cleaning, baking, Activity Days and then Book Club. I didn't have time to post, but I'm actually posting What I Wore on WEDNESDAY this week. Not just what I wore sometime during the week and posting on Wednesday. So it totally counts.

You all know how I love my book club. It's pretty much the coolest book club around. (We call it a book club cause it makes us sound smart.) Ha. No we really do read and chat about the book (even if it's only for 5 minutes some months.--It really depends on the book). But telling our husbands that we 'Have Book Club tonight" sounds better than "I need my fix of girl chat, gossip and calories."

Anyways, my lovely friend Dari hosted this month and it was a blast. She is always a great host. We always have dinner at Book Club and one of our favorite things to do is a Salad Bar and all bring a bunch of different toppings. We did that again this month and it was delicious. I also picked up some donuts from Beyond Glaze and they made a yummy dessert. This past month we read Cinder by Marisa Meyer.

After dinner/vent session/gossip/girl chat/book talk we did some crafting. We all made some glitter pumpkins. We chatted for too long to by the time we started the craft it was pitch black. So for blindly crafting I think they turned out pretty rad. (Thanks Dari for setting it up and buying all the supplies!)

{Pants: Old Navy, Blouse: Gap, Sweater: Kohls, Boots: Steve Madden via Nordstrom}

{Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelets Left to right: Lucky, Target, CottonOn, Lucky, Earrings: pepper ann's locket}

Some of my BCB's.

Dari chose The Fault in Our Stars by John Green for our next book.

Do you have a book club? Read anything good lately? I am hosting next month which means I get to pick the book next month so I need some suggestions.

WonderFALL

Happy Fall! I am so excited that Fall has arrived. In honor of this joyous occasion I thought I would share with you my top 5 things I love about fall.

1. The colors. I love the changing leaves and taking drives up the canyon just to take in all the scenery. And I LOVE the crunch while walking through the leaves!
Alpine Loop. One of my favorite drives.
2. Pumpkin. I LOVE pumpkin. I love decorating with them, cooking with them and the smell that fills the air while baking delish pumpkin treats.

Not wasting any time. Made a Pumpkin Cake with Cider Caramel Sauce and it was divine.

3. Jacket weather! Cooler weather means boots, scarves, gloves, hats, sweaters, hoodies, snuggling up with a warm blanket and some hot cocoa (with pumpkin creamer in it of course)
My scarves are in desperate need of some attention. I can't wait!

4. The smells. Pumpkin. Apple. Caramel. Cider. Rain. Leaves. All my favorites.
Pulled out my Fall Scentsy warmer today and some of my Fall candles.

5.  It's the start the holiday season. I don't decorate much between Spring and Fall. So finally I can busy out the decorations. We have back to back holidays coming up here folks and you know I love any reason to celebrate. Halloween // The Big Birthday // Thanksgiving // Christmas // New Years // My Birthday // Valentines.
Bring. It. On.

What do you love most about Fall?

Oh Hello Interweb!

I have been out of touch with reality. Ok not really, but I haven't had a computer for 2 and a half weeks. And that feels like I've lost touch with the webosphere (that's a real word right?) The last couple weeks have made me so grateful for smart phones! Without my iPhone I would have gone crazy. Thankfully I still had access to instragram and FB and limited email. The last few weeks of posts have just been from my phone and let me say that using only iPhone pics and 'trying' to edit online is horrible. Now looking over some of my photos I am mortified but whatevs. Life goes on.

Its amazing how you don't realize how connected to something you are until it's gone. I had so many projects I was working on on my silhouette right when this all happened. So decorations didn't get made and real 'cute' invitations didn't get sent. I had to resort to doing things the old fashioned way. I couldn't print my business cards for my last show, and had to use a friends silhouette to cut out the tags for said show.

I saw this photo today and it made me laugh. I couldn't stop thinking about all the things I was running around trying to figure out how to do without a computer.

It sounds so stupid to complain about all this. Things that a few years ago wouldn't have mattered at all to me. But anyways...I have a computer again! A good friend of ours offered to build a new one for us when out laptop AND desktop crashed. And I am a happy girl. Still trying to download/install all the programs I need and get everything situated. But things are looking up.

So thanks for sticking around.

WIWW: SOA Edition v2

I took pictures of a number of outfits this week, but as I sit here and scroll through them this is my favorite. Not sure if it's the outfit that is my favorite or because of the fact that it involves date night and Sons of Anarchy, but none the less it's the one I'm choosing to post this week.

Last night we again went to Brewvies for SOA on the big screen. (this is going to be a weekly thing for the next couple months) As usual it was a blast and I'm already dying for the next episode. Couldn't think of a better way to spend my Tuesday nights. Night out with my amazing husband + awesome friends + Jax Teller on the big screen + good food + sneak attack pictures of the bikers coming to watch the show in their cuts = perfection.

Hello Monday: 5k Edition

Saturday was the big day for the Run the Rave that I have been getting ready for. The last couple months I have been slacking in the fitness section of my life (hence the lack of Stop Being Fat posts). So I was a bit worried going into it. But I completed it! And I feel accomplished. I know for you runners out there that a 5k is weak sauce, but for me a NON runner it was a big deal.

The run was Saturday night out at Saltair. We ran out along the Great Salt Lake and it stunk as we trampled through the mud with hardly any light. But it was still a great time. We got all dressed up for it and wore glow sticks and such and Whit and I got crazy at the half way point with all the paint.

Thanks ladies for a great night!!!

WIWW: SOA Edition

If you know me, then you know I am obsessed with Sons of Anarchy. Last night was the season premiere and I was like a little kid waiting for Christmas the past week. There's a local movie theater (Brewvies) here that plays each episode live for free on the big screen. So you know my hubs and our friends are all over it.

We had a blast and can't wait until next week. It's going to be Scott and I's weekly date night for the next couple months.

What I wore:
Pants: Old Navy. Shirt: Gap. Shoes: TOMS. Earrings and Necklace: Made By Jewls.

Your questions, My answers. Volume 2.

1. Do you really go to the gym at 2:00am? How can you stay awake?

Up until a month ago, yes, I went to the gym between 1:00am and 2:00am 3-4 times a week. I am a night owl. But there's more to it than that. For the last year we have been a one car family. So while my husband is at work I am home with the kids. We take walks and still get out but it's hard without a car. Up until a month ago we were living in my in-laws basement apartment. We had our own kitchen and bathrooms and everything. It was a full 2 bedroom/ 2 bath apartment. It was wonderful and really helped us out. But between that and not having a car I felt trapped. I never had alone time. So when my husband would get home from work (sometimes between midnight and 1am) I would feel the need to 'get out'! And what's open at 1am? Walmart and the Gym. So I would do my grocery shopping and go to the gym in the middle of the night.

Some might think this is crazy, but it was such a stress relief for me. And it really helped in my weight loss goals. And now we have moved into our own place. And I have only been to the gym late twice in the last 5 weeks. Now we have our own place, awesome neighbors and we are above ground! So the trapped feeling isn't there anymore. Which is great, but not so great for those dang numbers on the scale!

Going with an empty parking lot and empty gym though is quite amazing.

2. Where did you grow up?

I spent the first few years of my life in Escalante, UT. A very small town in southern Utah. (like population 700. Very small!) But when I was 3 we moved to California. We lived in Santa Clarita for a year and then moved to Palmdale (Northern LA county). I lived there until I graduated high school and moved to Utah to go to BYU. Since then I've moved back and forth a few times but now we are in Utah and I really love it here.

Escalante. I love this town.

3. Why do you do WIWW posts?

Good question. I ask myself that alot. We are on a tight budget and I don't have the newest fashions nor the money to shop. So it's not to show off my clothes. But its more for me to force myself to get ready for the day. (I promise it doesn't just happen once a week!)

Being a SAHM can really do horrible things to your looks and how you feel about yourself. Some days its so much easier to stay in yoga pants and a tee all day. And some days it happens. But I have really tried to not let myself fall into that rut. I feel so much better once I get ready for the day and I have so much more motivation to get things one during the day. So that's why I do them. I like to see what outfits I can come up with throughout the week. And I like having a reason to fix up.

One of my favorite outfits from my WiWW posts.

Your questions, My answers. Volume 1

First of all I just want to say thank you to all of you out there reading this. I am currently doing my first giveaway via Jenny at Modern Modest Beauty and hence have gained so many new followers! I cant tell you how happy this makes me. This blog is very new and I am still trying to get into my own grove.

Over the last few weeks I have been asked several questions via comments and emails and thought it would be fun to do a series of question/answer posts. So if you have a question send it my way and it will be answered.

Let's begin.

1. Do you really all have the same birthday?

Yes. Well everyone but me that is. My husband, my son and my daughter all share November 19 as their big day.(hence the name of the blog). And no we did not plan this. At all. I didn't want any of them to share. Birthdays are a big deal around these parts and I wanted each of them to have their own special day. But God had other plans.

I should have known that this would not be the case having my Grandma Betty's genes. She was born on Halloween, and her siblings on Christmas and New Years. Her daughter (my aunt) was born on Valentines Day and I was born on her sons (my uncles) birthday. Are you confused yet?

Anyways...My son Jaxon was born on my husbands 30th birthday. I went into labor the morning before and was sure that he would be born the day before. But after 18 hours in the hospital later he made his appearance. So he was my birthday gift to the hubs. I mean is there a better gift?

Well I knew how much he loved his gift on his 30th birthday that I knew I had to do it again. Ha. So 13 weeks after Jaxon was born (and as a total shock to both of us) I got pregnant with my daughter Chloe. The morning of November 19th 2010 the hubs was getting up to go to work. It was 6:00 am and I still had a week until my due date. I felt fine and got up to use the restroom and all of a sudden massive contractions started. He came in to say goodbye and I told him to call his work and tell them he wouldn't be coming in that day because we had to go to the hospital NOW! Less than 3 hours later, our daughter Chloe was born. Happy Birthday again dear husband!

Don't worry, the following year we did not spend their birthdays at the hospital.

So yes they really all have the same birthday. I am the only one left out. So now I need your advice. When and if we decide to try for another do we plan to make sure to have said baby on November 19th so they aren't left out? Or do we plan to start having them on my birthday and I can have a team of my own? 11-19 vs 02-10? Only time will tell...

*more questions to be answered shortly. But I am tired. And our computer crashed. And crashed like it is totally dead. Never coming back to life, have to by a new one, crashed. So I am currently posting from my phone. And trying to write a post on a phone is much more difficult than on a computer. So my thumbs are tired. Plus the coming answers aren't nearly as long. So send In your questions and I'll get to work on answering the dozen or so more I have already received.

Book Club: August Edition

Nichole hosted our Book Club last week. It was a blast. It was her birthday the week prior so we celebrated her birthday as well. We also decided to work on some crafts while we were all together as well. Last month we read The City of Bones by Cassandra Clare.

Delicious meal + yummy treats + my ladies + crafts + girl talk = a fabulous night.

Whitney crafting in style! Meagan picking out some earrings. Dari supervising the fun.  Brittney working on some earrings.

Brittney and I made some workout shirts. I'm excited for these two, and excited to make even more. We all decided to make matching ones for our 5K coming up in less than 2 weeks! Ahh!

Meagan and I worked on some hair arrows. I am pretty stoked about these. Wore one to a BBQ Friday and kept getting called Katniss. Ha. Whatever, she's pretty awesome.

Dying sticks for the arrows, and painting earrings. All while massive amounts of girl talk ensues.

Thank you ladies for a wonderful time once again. and thank you Nichole for hosting and for cooking a fabulous dinner. Can't wait for next time!
