Well, Kyle is down to about 5 1/2 months to go! As you can see in the pictures, apparently it is customary to burn a pair of pants at the 18 month mark. He was transferred last weekend, and is now serving as a Zone Leader is Rapid City. As far as winters in the Dakotas go, Rapid City is not a bad place to be. The Black Hills help shield from that nasty wind that blows, and the temperatures in Rapid seem to be a bid milder (if you can call them mild). He will be able to enjoy the holidays at the mission home, so that will be nice. We are getting excited to see him again, but he still has work to do, and needs to remain focused and continue serving the Lord!

June 26, 2010
Well, June has come and almost gone. Kyle has been in Gillette, Wyoming for about three weeks now, serving as a zone leader with Elder Beatty. He is having a great mission and really liking Gillette. Chad also served as a ZL in Gillette, some 25 years ago! There are 4 wards and a couple of branches there, and the missionaries live with one of the Bishops and his family. Kyle is coming up on his 14 month mark, so he can finally say he is doing things for the "last" time in the mission field! The work is hard, but the missionaries are busy and happy. We talked to Kyle on Mother's Day, while he was still in Pipestone, Minnesota and he sounded great. Thanks to all of you who have taken the time to write him. He appreciates the letters and emails. His new address is 1601 Chara Ave Gillette, WY 82718-5553.

June 13th, 2010
Very poor job of blogging by the parents! Kyle has been moved twice since our last update. He trained for the third time, and opened up a new area in Pipestone, Minnesota, a town of about 4,000 people. He just got transferred again last week, and is now serving as a zone leader in Gillette, Wyoming. This will give him a chance to see some old friends in Sheridan also. Chad served as a zone leader in Gillette about 25 years ago! Kyle just passed his 13 month mark, and the time is going by quickly. He said he will send home some new photos next week, so we will post again as soon as we get them! You can write to him at 1601 Chara Ave. Gillette, WY 82718-5553. The Elders live with the Bishop, so they have a nice place!

March 12, 2010 part 2
Kyle and his companion have been blessed with some new investigators lately, even having 8 of them at church recently. The Stake President recently told the Bishop what a great job the Elders were doing in Aberdeen. Kyle's testimony of hard work has certainly grown these last 10 months. They recently tracted into a lady who told them she had already been reading the B of M, and loved how it made her feel.

Kyle has just passed the 10 month mark, and is still serving in Aberdeen, South Dakota. His new companion is Elder Barker, and Kyle is his trainer. It has been a LONG, COLD winter, with a lot of days where the high didn't reach zero! The work is progressing, and Kyle has made a lot of great friends in Aberdeen.

2/07/10
Well, Kyle just passed his nine month mark yesterday. Transfers came last week, and his companion headed home. President Layton called Kyle and informed him that he would remain in Aberdeen as a District Leader, and would be training a new missionary again. We should find out more about his new companion tomorrow! In his last e-mail, it sounds like he is doing great, but really wishing for spring time to show up. Unfotunately, it will be a while before that happens. We will post again when we find out more about his new companion.
