"Nu imi pot aminte cuvintele pe care le am vorbit." Alma 44:11

Hello Everyone!
In case you're wondering, Oradea is much cooler than it has been recently.  I mean temperature wise.  And the city is still doing pretty good just like normal!  Our branch is doing pretty well and we had a really good turn out at church yesterday which was awesome!  Elder A... said it was the 2nd most people he's seen at church since March.  So that was awesome.  We did some visits to less actives with the Branch President which was really cool too.  He's really legit.  He knows what he's doing and he's a great Branch President.
As for investigators, we managed to finally meet with our referral from a few weeks ago and he's pretty good, but it'll take some work to get him to baptism.  Hopefully he'll progress.  We didn't manage to meet with any of our other investigators but we did set up to meet with one of our super cool English students named Mi... (a name I have never heard until I came here haha).  She's a mother of a new(ish)-born baby and her brother also comes with her to classes.  I think she's pretty cool and I hope she progresses and we can get her husband coming with her to lessons sometime too.
Basically everything's going great here, the other elders are preparing for a baptism on the 8th with Cr..., one of their investigators, and we're having zone conference with the Arad and Cluj zones this weekend.  I'm looking forward to it.  I hope all of you are amazing!  I love you all!

Hello World.
So it's been a pretty good week here in Oradea!  Not much new has happened with our investigators but that's alright!  We're trying to work with the members right now to get some awesome investigators.  So hopefully we get some results from that.
This week we did get to do some awesome sightseeing and had a fun party!  Haha we got permission from President to take an hour out of P-Day last week and use it to go see the clocktower in the middle of the city here.  We got to go up to the very top and the view was amazing.  The tower has been there since 1902 and it apparently still has bullet damage in the clock that faces the river from WWII.  It was super fun to be there and we could see the entire city and more so it was fun.  Also our zone is currently playing zone bingo, and one of the requirements to check off a square is to do an act of charity for another companionship in your district.  So we threw a party for the other elders here!  We bought 30cm party poppers filled with confetti and some chocolate praline snacks and went and surprised them by shooting confetti all over their apartment.  :)  Haha and then we cleaned up afterward.  It was fun.  Other than that this week, we had breakfast for lunch one day and went all out with pancakes, syrup, bacon, hashbrowns, etc.
Basically everything's going great here!  The members are awesome and I'm loving it!  I hope all of you have a great time going back to school or doing whatever you're doing this week!  Also here's a shout out to Sister P... who's leaving to ITALY this week from the MTC!  I'm excited to be (relatively) near someone of my own flesh and blood again!

Oradea is a little more cool now

Hello people!
So Oradea has cooled down a bit which is awesome!  We had some rain and clouds and now we don't die of heat every time we go outside.  It's pretty nice now.  And it's still a legit city too!
We didn't get to meet with our investigators this week because they were busy with family visiting them with a bunch of nieces and nephews and chaos.  So we didn't visit them but they're still doing well.  We also got a referral from the Zone Leaders because one of their investigators moved from Arad to Oradea so we'll meet him sometime in the next few days.  Also we got a referral kinda because a member moved from Iaşi to our city and he's a recent convert so we need to meet with him to teach him stuff.  But yeah so we're just getting a bunch of referrals!  We also asked the members at church yesterday if they had any friends they wanted to quit smoking and of course they do because everyone smokes here so we'll be visiting some of them to see if we can help their friends!  Pretty much it's looking like we should be busy enough in the next week which is great!
Not much else happened this week except for the fact that we got to play basketball with some members and investigators and it was fun.  Also we drew the plan of salvation in the park and they had these little circles in the concrete squares already so we could make really round circles which was great.  Haha I know it doesn't sound like a big thing but to us it was importantish.  I hope you all have a great week!  Love you all!

Oradea is not cool.

Szia!
First, to get things straight, Oradea is definitely the least cool city I have been in so far on my mission.  I am definitely not impressed with the fact that it's a billion degrees hot outside every day.  Haha but all joking aside it is a pretty legit city.  It's definitely beautiful.  It was built forever ago and there are lots of old buildings that survived all the wars (the first one and the second one and maybe other ones too) that look really cool.  Also there's a nice river that goes right through the middle of the city.  It's super close to Hungary too which I know I already told you all but yeah I feel like I'm a new missionary again.  I just walk around the streets and don't understand what people say.  Only 2 of the members in the branch don't know Hungarian, and one of them is from Bucharest.  Everyone also speaks Romanian, though.  Which is a relief.  There's a member here, though, who's third language is Romanian.  First Hungarian, second English.  So, wisely, I learned how to say basic things in Hungarian already, such as yes (igen), hello (szia or szervusz), and "I don't speak Hungarian" (ném beszélek magyarul).  It's pretty fun. :)
My companion is Elder A....  He's from Idaho, has been in the mission since March, and he's super awesome.  We get along super well.  Also in my district are Elder S... and Elder T....  I sent pictures of them that I took sitting here at internet.  Sorry I don't have other pictures yet.
As for investigators, we have 2 which is great.  We found them yesterday and they're pretty cool.  Their names are I... and A... (maybe spelled differently though because that's Romanian spelling and they're both Hungarian of origin).  They're super nice and they love prayer and stuff and we're looking forward to starting to actually teach them later this week.  Other than that the other elders have 2 investigators, one who should be baptized on the first of September.  Basically this is a pretty awesome city.  We also get to do community service twice a week feeding homeless people at a shelter.  It's super fun.
At transfers this week I had to say goodbye to Elder L... unfortunately because he's done with his mission now (if you remember him I was with him in Craiova) and that made me really sad.  But it's good because now he can go to school again.  But yeah basically I'm loving it here and I hope you're all having a great time in America or wherever vă aflaţi!  I love you all!
Love, Elder Michael Abbott
