Hey family!

Sounds like school and life is going totally awesome! I couldn´t even believe those pictures of Reese. She´s totally huge! What the freak?! Austen, striaght A´s! Totally awesome! You rock! Sav, your schedule sounds awesome! You get out earlier than I did in high school. Dyl, you are the bomb! Glad things are going awesome.

With me, things are going well! The package had a ton of pop tarts, nature valley bars (which are awesome because I just shove them in my bag and eat them throughout the day) and stuff like that. Protein powder and all that.

Training has been totally awesome! Elder Mccoy is totally hilarious and we get along really well. It´s so funny seeing him seeing all of this stuff for the first time, all the crazy stuff about this country because I remember how I felt when I first got here. How nothing made sense and it was all just so funny. We get along really well. As for me being sick, no worries. I got a blood test and everything came back negative so the doctor gave me some pills to take after I eat. I don´t throw up anymore, since like last friday so it´s all good. If it continues I´ll talk with the doc and figure it all out. I am definitely doing better, though. You know how I am, though. Like once a year I always get really sick. Always at least once. And I got a blessing the first week I was sick! All over that.

Anyway, as for things that happened this week, Rosalinda was not confirmed again...She said she wants her family to be there which is understandable, so we said we could wait till next week, but that if they don´t come, she´s gotta get confirmed. So she said okay and tonight we set up a family home evening with her family and my favorite family in the ward, the Gonzaga´s, who are totally awesome, so hopefully everything will go well with that. We also have someone named Natalia progressing. I´ll tell you the story about how we found her. I think it´s cool.

So we were working and it was super hot out and no one was letting us in. So I´d been praying all day that we´d find just one person who would actually want to listen to us. No luck. So we decided to go have a meeting with the ward mission leader to talk about the people we had progressing (which was no one) and give him an update on the work here in the ward. We got there, had the meeting, and I threw up. I´d been feeling like crap the whole day and was ready to call it quits because I was feeling sick. Then our ward mission leader´s son came over while we were there and he had told me that his wife might come to church with him this Sunday. I asked him if we could talk to her, and so we did. We had an awesome lesson with her and set a baptismal goal for next Sunday! I told them about how they were totally answers to my prayers that day.

I´ll keep you updated on how that goes. We are hoping to find even more really good people this week.

That´s basically all I´ve got for now! Everything is good with me.

You guys rock. Thanks for all you do!

Much love,

 Elder Wheeler

August 20, 2012

HEY!

Reese´s letter was the bomb, thanks for the email UD, and Austen, Savy, and Dylan, obviosuly your emails rock too.

AND YOU ROCK AUNT STEPH.

Anyway, I am glad things are going well with all of you. Sounds like it was a pretty good Summer! This week has been mildy eventful. First of all, I hit my head on a metal door thing because it was designed for people shorter than me when I was walking out of some store. I just knew you would like to hear about that, Aunt Steph.

NEXT, well, I did not get changed. Elder Jensen left and now I´m training! My companion´s name is Elder Mccoy from Utah! He´s totally awesome. It´s definitely a plus when you get a companion that is a normal person. He´s pretty awesome. It´ll be good.

Also, the last four days I´ve been sick. The doctor says he thinks it´s a stomach infection so I´ve been throwing up and feeling pretty crappy for a little while. Today I´m going to put an appointment with another doctor so they can tell me what´s wrong. I´ve eaten like two jellos and two yogurts in the last four days (but today I had chinese food! So we´ll see how it goes). But anyway, that´s basically been our life this week.

As for the work, everyone who said they were coming for sure for sure to church, did not go. Not even Rosalinda to get confirmed. So that was a downer, but no worries. This week we´re going to work with them and see how things go. I´ll let you know next week. I´ll also tell you what´s up with me. It´s not too bad, but we can´t stay out all day. My comp videoed me throwing up in the middle of the street so I´ll show you that one when I get home.

That´s about everything on my end. Everything is good with me!

The package, I GOT IT. The one with all the food and little fuzzy heart things? Got it. THANK YOU. It was awesome. So yeah, DHL is good to use. Actually I had people tell me that this week that DHL is more reliable and stuff.

Your questions:
-How many missionaries are in your mission total?? Elders and Sisters?? Umm...Like 164 or something like that in total. I think for sisters there are like...14.
-Is there anything your heart desires from AZ besides ties and healthy food stuff?? That shirt that says ´´that´s how I roll´´ was so funny. Just send me whatever. There´s nothing I like need, need. I always like getting pictures and stuff like that, but I don´t have anything specific right now. an oil thing so I can give blessings. Lost that.

That´s about it for me and my life right now. Being sick definitely blows and it makes it a lot harder to work or focus on giving all I can to help these people, but I do know that if we give everything we have and are trying to always be concecrated in a good cause, the Lord will bless us.

Thanks for all you do family!

Much love,
Elder Wheeler

Heyo!

Sounds like things are rocking at home! School starting and everything. Totally F-U-N. The pictures you sent totally rocked! Thanks for that. Nando´s haha how funny. That place.

This week was pretty good! It was the last week of the change and we have transfer calls tonight (I always forget that´s what they´re called in English...) so I´ll let you know what goes down with that, but it´s been a good time here in Colinas. If I go or stay, I´ll be content. No worries either way. As for it being hot, yes, it´s been hot and humid, but no worries either. Definitely part of serving a mission in Monterrey, which I signed up for :D

But anyway, Brayan was baptized this week! We was totally happy. When we ran into him the next day I said ´´how do you feel?´´ and he said ´´I feel happy.´´

We came over on Sunday to Brayan´s to help him get ready for church

So that was awesome. He got baptized on Wednesday and confirmed on Sunday. Rosalinda got away, though. She said she was feeling sick and was in another part of Monterrey so she will have to be confrimed this upcoming week. She says the same, though, that she feels happy. Actually, I´ve definitely been able to see the change in her. Before, she always seemed a little sad, but now it´s totally different. She´s always laughing and just a lot happier. So that´s good.

The juggling guy...Haha his name is Omar and we have not gone by. We´ve been so busy we haven´t had time, but I´ll let him know one of these days.

As for stories, this week a guy, who was for sure drugged out of his mind, came up to me and gave me like a weird handshake that turned into him trying to punch me in the face. Not even kidding, this guy was loco. So I said ´´whoa man, take it easy. Go well!´´ and we left. It was super ridiculous.

The packages, someone called me and told me I have a big package in the offices! I live about...forty minutes from there by bus? And they bring us packages every zone conference, but no, I haven´t had a chance to get there to grab the package and zone conference, well, depending on if I stay here or not will determine when that will be. Today I  won´t have time either to go there, but ASAP I will get it! I´m totally excited though, and thank you so much!

 The Zone!

The Gonzaga´s!! (totally my favorite family in the ward)

That´s about all I ´ve got for this week. Definitely can see everyday how the Lord takes care of us in this crazy country. Everything´s all good with me! Thankd for all you do, family. Let me know about Car´s new address. Tell Nyal I have no letters from him. Talk to you real soon!

Fight the frown. :)

Much love,
Elder Wheeler

August 6, 2012

Heya!

Sounds like this week was a total blast! Awesome! I´m glad you all got to go to the beach and do cool Summer stuff. Totally rocks! Austen = Surf Master. Also, totally loved that video of Reese. SO FUNNY. That girl. And as for packages, it all depends on the next time I got to the offices or when I see President next. I´ll keep you updated, but I´m sure they´re going to be totally awesome. THANK YOU!

This week has gone pretty well! It was a super busy week because we have had so many new people we started teaching as well as so many people tell us they were all going to church! So we were stoked and we also had two baptisms planned for this Sunday. SO BUSY. So we commit everyone to church, they all say they´re for sure coming and nothing would stop them and all of that. We go to church and are going to get Brayan (Who was a baptism for Sunday but ended up drinking a cup of coffee on Friday, which he´s eleven, and he never drinks coffee, and there is no coffee in his house, so he didn´t pass his interview but will be baptized THIS WEDNESDAY) and Rosalinda (Who was baptized on Sunday). As for everyone who said they would come, zero came. Shocker, right? But it´s no biggie. We´ll work with them this week and get them to start doing some good in their lives. Rosalinda was baptized, even though it was a huge hassle getting her to church because she was coming from really far, didn´t show up for a long time, we passed by her house twice and wasn´t there and all that jazz, but in the end, she came and was baptized and was SO HAPPY. So that´s what matters :D

So that´s pretty much been our week this week! Totally hectic, but really good. We´ll have a baptism on Wednesday as well and see who we can actually get to come to church this Sunday. Definitely keep you posted.

As for everything else, life is really good. No complaints. Sometimes it´s stressful or whatever being a missionary, but you know me, I don´t get stressed by it. It is definitely different, but I would not change being a missionary for anything. The best thing that´s happened to me since being adopted by you! It´s really cool to help people find hope in life, even when it seems like there is none.

Anyway, that´s pretty much all I´ve got. August is the hottest month of the year, here. My companion is sunburnt. I wear sunscreen. I waved to a nun like three times this week.

Much love,
Elder Wheeler

 Me on a road.
Me, Elder Mikkelsen, Elder Jackman, and Elder Jensen when we went hiking this morning. We didn´t know we were going to hike, the bishop just took us there after he gave us breakfast so we were dressed like that.
A natural spring that we hiked to this morning.
A picture for Carly. Totally what we do at all the restraunts in the world is take our silverwear and bang it on the table with a similar face, so I did it at this lady´s house.

The going away conference with the Romney´s!

HEY.

Thanks for the birthday wishes fam! Totally awesome and the packages, no worries. UD drove over the border! So funny. I don´t know if you´ve ever heard of Estafeta but I´m pretty sure it´d be the best way to get something to me. Not 100% sure, but maybe. Just throwing that out there.

Anyway, hope things are great at home! Things with me are awesome. No complaints! This week we had a kid named Brayan come to church with his mom! He´s going to be baptized Sunday. We actually just met him in the street one day and since all the freaking kids talk to us, I always just tell them to go to church. But he showed up! So he should be all set to go by Sunday. His mom isn´t married but we´ll see if we can get her to fix that. I´ll let you know.

Also we have someone named Rosalinda who is going to get baptized this Sunday, too! She is one who just showed up at church over a month ago and we´ve been working with her, but she´s had a lot of trials that have come out of nowhere. He dad is sick, her husband doesn´t talk with her or like even acknowledge her, her aunt just died like three days ago randomly, and she has to get her wisdom teeth out. I was like, listen, there´s no way you came to church a month ago, started talking with us and planning to be baptized, and then all of this crap happened. God totally sent us here at this time in your life becuase he knew it would be really difficult for you, so we´re here to help you be happy. She´s totally stoked and ready to be baptized. She also drank coffee everyday before and she committed to stop drinking it, and guess what happens.

Her coffee maker broke.

So she drinks no more coffee. Totally awesome.

As for other things, HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNCLE JOHN, MASON, and KIRSTEN! YOU GUYS ROCK AND I HOPE YOU TOTALLY OWNED YOUR BDAY.

Speaking of birthdays, mine went well! There´s a family in the ward who are totally awesome and invited us over to have cake, so we did. They´re the Gonzagas and they have 6 daughters ranging from 20 to 1. They´re so funny. Brother Gonzaga reminds me a lot of UD. So anyway we spent it with them and they pushed my face in a cake and all that.

Me with birhtday cake on muhh face.

That´s about all I have for this week. You are awesome, family. Thanks for all you do!

Much love,
Elder Wheeler

In memory of MJ and Nick!
Totally had to be Nick for a second with that.

Me and Elder Hemsley at the temple!
