day 222

Well this week was super lots faster than last week. i dont even know why. so it turns out that my camera package has yet to arrive in tacloban... so kinda sad. but ok.. i can survive. 


well monday we played ball. im really not as bad as i thought... but im still not good. haha.. i wish the people here played soccer. i occasionally put the ball on the ground and pone some noobs with my soccer skill. Its night and day difference of skill. ha. i miss soccer soooo much. i try to think about it when i have an off second. it seems like i never have an empty second when a thought isnt in my head. whether it be my fam, jessica, soccer, lizards, guitar,  or most commonly, the Lord. its good cuz i dont get to homesick if i can think about things like that. you would think that it would make me homesick by thinking about that stuff, but i can adjust the thought to not make me sick. ha pretty cool. 


speaking cebuano in sports is extremly hard... hahah cuz sports have thier own language. Lisod Kaayo diay.... 


well tuesday, we had splitz... it pretty much sucked. i dont like the isabel apartment. all the windows remain open all night so tons of mozzys get in and eat you alive!! 


wednesday was not anything exciting, 


thursday elder ebite ate some bad fruit and was sick. friday, i got sick. i was super hot and had one of those crazy bad headaches. also my face, like my sinuses hurt like nobodys business. still today i have some sickness.
but not bad. 


saturday LIZA MARIE GOT BAPTISED!!!!!!!!! yayyy. so after that, we were able to teach her mom who has been to shy to show her face to us. it was a really cool experience. then we have about 4 other great investigators right now. they are all coming to church. i love it. they have no problems except that thier mother wont allow them to be baptized. she is in manila so its hard to contact her.. 


ya so june 8 is transfer day. i am kinda leaning on the "hope i get transfered" side but if i stay, im perfectly fine with that. I learned this week that 5 of the young women have crushes on me. pshh...

day 222 Questions and Answers

When you get home we would like you to say a talk that you've prepared in your language OK?
i dont really write them, i just pick a theme from the scriptures and just start saying what ever comes to my mind. ha its scary, but it works.

What was it again that you had Elder Ebite say a quote from a movie and he had no idea what he was saying but just said it to say it for you...and you laughed.  what was it again?

No breaky, for lunch i had a can of tuna with 12 crackers. then for dinner i had the exact same thing. also, with my amazing meals, i have a pitcher of Tang.

Do you drink alot of soda?

i wouldnt say a lot, just when ever i want it.. prolly 2wice a week.

Do you have talks prepared "just in case?"

nope.

What do you hear from Jessica recently?

Havent heard from her in a long while now. more than a while. almost two months. i miss her so much.

Have you adopted a pet lizard?

ha... almost. i find lizards in my house that are shedding and cant get away and i help them shed and play with them for a while then let them go. i have pet spiders though... hahaha

Can you NOT send a picture?  now? even with your broken camera?  can you not just get out your sd card and upload on the computer?  Have you sent that home yet?  I really can't wait.

i can buy an SD card reader and use that. i got to the post office late today, like 4 and it was closed. dang. ill send it prolly on wednesday. we have some videos to make for you guys :)

i would like to great you a pleasant day. :) hahahah watch for the letter for ashley from elder ebite hahahahaha its sooooooo fetching funny!!!!!!!!!! he wrote about 4 drafts today, trying to make the perfect letter for her. i corrected his english to a degree, to make it understandable, but its still extremly funny.

day 215 Questions and Answers

Were you soo super tired after we got off the phone?  Were you able to get up at the regular time?
i actually had a hard time falling asleep. it was sad that my phone wouldnt call back. i didnt get to say goodbye..

You mentioned in your last letter that your back and head hurts...is it cause they are sore from working or did you hurt it?

just some soreness from playing ball..

What was the best thing this week?

Liza maries baptismal interview. cool. strong spirit.

How long were you with the district leader?

just that one day.

Hey mom, this keyboard is soo messed up so please excuse the many errors that will come.. This week was a super slow week. it took forever to get to this day. i glad it did... well i dont have much tie now cuz were on splitz again and we still have to buy food before all the stores close


. so we had a record breaking 101 attendance at church, 3 of which were investigators. ASTIG(awesome) so ya thats the highlight. well that all about it... 


Oh by the way, i am super bad at basketball. no one wants me on thier teem. sad huh.. hahaha oh well

day 208 Questions and Answers Mother's day

We asked jensen what was the hardest mission rule was to follow...he said that getting up at 6:30 was.  what is the one for you?
thats not to hard for me. usually. for me, its prolly planning right when i get home. im soo beat and hungry and tired and thirsty. ha we have to work on it. we did it every night with elder wood, but e. ebite is a bit more slack. haha...i just dont like to do it hahah..

When you go to church...do you always have a job?  like setting up chairs? or sacrament? or teaching? or leading the music?

hmm well we usually do what the members dont. like if the members dont set up chairs we do. or if they dont have enough priesthood to bless, we do.

Do the pinos (is that rude?) celebrate mother's day?  did your companion call home too?

No they dont, not really. its an american holiday. they are proud to be penoy. it says so on thier shirts. hahah.  (from the phone conversation)  But they do get to call home too.  The mom's think it's sweet when they call home.  It's a nice surprise for them.

Had any more trouble with your deaf kid?

nope, we were pretty good friends like high fivin each other and such, until he got upset at us at the church. he scowled at us. sooo hopefully he doesnt try anything else.

What is your favorite thing that happened this week?

Liza marie is excited for her baptism.

What luxury do you miss from america?  (that's lame)

ha............ 1.washing machine 2.flushing a toilet. 3.Not rice 4.organized church 5.cheese. 6.lizards hhaha. just to name a few.

day 208 Mothers day

well i dont think this is gonna be very long. mostly cuz i can call you and cuz my back and head hurts real bad. well last week was a boring week. we met with our investigators. they are sooo great! we were planning on 3 baptisms on the 26th. but two of them couldnt get permission from their parents. sooo sad, cuz they are coming to church. which is the hardest thing to do. Our 3rd inv. LM Enero. she is super cute, and i cant wait for her to be baptised. i hope that i get to baptise her. haha its about time for the first one. other than that, nothing really happened. 


we played bball today, like i told you. i sort of am losing my hops.... im sooo extremly sad. well that just means i gotta work out harder. more on legs as well as upper bod. well so thats about it. we are still happy and stuff. 


cant wait for the camera to get here. (its prolly already here.) just have to wait till the next time i see someone from tacloban. 


well think hard of lots of qs and write them down. so yaya.

day 201 (lots) Questions and Answers

We're having the missionaries who serve here come to dinner this friday.  What should we feed them?  Do you ever get "fed by the members"  or are you mostly on your own?
 if we show up to a members house and they are eating, we usually eat with them, but that is very very infrequent. so ya... you should make some lasagna. i miss that soo much. haha I wish they had fetching tortillas in this dang country. or at least cheese!!!! my life would be soooo much easier. ha i found sliced ham! and its in our area!!!!!

Is Elder Ebite still good?  Are you glad for the change?  What's your favorite thing about him.  We searched a mission site and we found a picture of him with other elders there.  I'll attached it.  Do you know the other elders in the picture or where the picture is taken?  He looks like a really nice guy.  He has a nice smile.
Ya, normally, the pinos are a little bit more kick back missionaries than the Americans. like they might have a babalonian song on their mp3 thing, but he is pretty good. i like having him as a comp way more than e wood. its so much easier to teach and to learn and all that stuff.

How does Elder Ebite feel about serving his same country?  Do they usually send them to the philippines? or do they get sent foreign too?
he likes it. they usually stay here to serve. its very rare that a pino gets sent abroad. ive only heard of one. a sister, shes going to rexburg idaho.

Where did Elder Wood get sent?
He got sent to Abuyog. its a cebuano/waray mix. he is ok with it.

Is Elder Morris still in Isabel? would you love to be his companion?
Elder morris is gone, not sure of his place, but he is comps with elder Ostler. cool huh?

Do you ever see Elder Mahoni? like at zone mtgs?
Ya i see him all the time! its great. we have fun together still. i will see him tomorrow in fact.

How do you feel about having a native speaker as your companion?  Do you feel like you're learning the language faster?  Or is it harder?  Does he speak good english?
well, ive been speaking cebuano like no other, like hardly any english. its hard, but im able to do it. i think its going to be faster. Its lots  easier to learn words and such but we will see.. i like it so far. He is pretty good at english.

In your last letter you said that you got the easter package...how is it "still" amazing?  Have you seen any of the vicious animals there, that I printed out?  hehe I'm sure it's mostly wrong and especially since you have a native companion...he's prolly phhsssh, that's not right... There was real american money in your easter eggs, did that come intact?  Anything stolen?  Is it hard to exchange it?  And did you LOVE nate's shirt?  What was your fav thing in there?  It's so hard to trust the mail system.  Was the sauce ok?
it was still amazing cuz there was still stuff left. i didnt eat it right away:) i have seen 4 cobras. 3 of which, were either killed or run over by a car. haha  he hasnt seen any of the pix. he is from the big city Cagayan de oro. so he isnt familiar with things of the bukid. OH and everything came unharmed. all the money was there. i tried to exchange it all but they didnt take the gold coins. so i still have em. i loved the easter eggs the most. just the feeling that i had opening them. i ran away from everyone, like into a different room and all by myself opened them. it was soo nice. i love it soo much. the sauce is still amazing!!

I'm sure you haven't gotten the camera package yet..I hope you like the camera.
i haven't gotten it yet, but we have zone interviews on friday, so maybe then...

Do you think you'll want some new pants? new jeans? can you buy that stuff there?  Since you're loosing weight?
ya im gonna buy some new pants sometime soon. they are super cheap here. like 200 pesos. so like 5 bucks...

What's the best this week?
well we weren't able to visit one our investigators, Tripon, last week. but he still came to church!!!! so as of right now we have 3 progressing investigators!!!! two of which are scheduled for baptism on the 26th of this month. its great!!

Got any questions for me?
not yet... Elder Ebite requests some beef jerky... haha he had someone give him some, and now he is addicted. haha.

day 201

well this week was up and down. like every other day we had a good day. the other days that weren't good, were not bad per say, but just extremely boring. We met with our investigators who are happily progressing. then we met with other members and scheduled lots of follow up lessons. nothing really exciting happened.

Elder Ebite told me a funny joke. thats about the highlight of our week.. haha but here it goes. When a dog pees, on a tree for example, why does he lift his leg up?? Cuz if the tree starts to fall, he can kick off it, and get a fast start. hahahaha you just gotta imagine a tiny pino, telling this story and then lifting up his leg and kicking off a tree showing me how it worked... hahaha i wish i could have videoed it.

well i have some pics i want to send but cant till that cam come around. so we just wait. well i dont really have anything else.. uhh.. we ate some bbq pork. like the kind you see with the apple in its mouth. that was... cold. hahah we got there late so it was cold haha.
well we played b ball today and we lost. i didnt understand the rules so i couldnt play well.... very hard to understand... especially in pure cebuano...

well i love you lots. and im not sure about the mothers day call, maybe at zone meeting we will find out. i will keep you updated.
