Dad and I saw hunger games this weekend. It came out. I'll have to make a list of movies that you might like to watch when you get back. I didn't read the book..but three chapters. But I enjoyed the movie. Everyone said it was pretty much true to the book. Didn't you read those books or just the other boys. I can't remember.

This week, the Lord helped me the most one day as i was feeling quite homesick, and just down. during one lesson i gave my testimony and i forgot my troubles. so by helping strengthening someone else, the Lord strengthened me.

today was just kinda blah. its already almost over. we updated our area book and our rescue binder(less active and recent converts) did some laundry, still have lots more to do.

i havent yet. i looked in tacloban and they are all pretty expensive. so im still shopping.

day 159
wow.... i read this email and im still in shock.. i can hardly believe that happend. wow. im glad that they are ok. i pray your guys safety every night. especially tyler. That just goes to show that the Lord answers prayers.
well this week was long, just because there was a ton of traveling and waiting. on tuesday, we went to our zone meeting. then after that we went straight to tacloban. we got there super late so we went to the mission office and hung out with the office elders. we went to dinner after that. we ate Mcdonalds!! it was sooo dang good!!!! ha well then we went to their appt. and slept. then in the morning,
so last week was pretty much that. we had some less actives come to church but as far as investigators, go, zero. the other night, saturday, there was a bagio. a biiig ole storm. lots and lots of rain. we were soaked!!! my shoes still arent dry. ha.
Mom, im grateful to the lord that He protected tyler and his friends. im also greatful that you are my mom. i love you. :) i know that because of your and dads obedience to Gods commandments, tyler was saved. i know that God will bless you even more as you continue to put your faith and trust in him. everyday im amazed at his power. i know that he is capable of anything.

Tyler, i hope you realize what happened.The Lord saved you because he loves you, and you have a great purpose here on earth. i hope that you can put yourself aside and turn to him. i know that with His help you can do anything. i want to encourage you to read your scriptures. to pray and to continue to live as Jesus and our Heavenly father want you to live. Remember that life is a precious gift that can be gone in just a second. use it to the fullest. try to be a little better everyday. Get excited for conference. and try to start new with all the amazing councils that your going to hear. I love you buddy and i want the best for you. Im sorry we never got to grow together spiritually. i really regret that now. i hope you will forgive me. Give YOUR BEST to the Lord, and he will give HIS BEST to you. I hope you take this letter serious cuz i am speaking from my heart. Right now im trying my best to do all i can for him. even though it is extremly hard, and i still am not perfect, i know that my all is good enough for the lord. From the council of the prophets: Try a little harder, to be a little better. Look for my letters bud.

day 152 Questions and Answers
Do you have a new companion? Name and where from? and how long has he been out?
nope
You mentioned last time that you saw that messi scored 5 goals on your companion's screen? Is he a soccer fan too?
ya. he played in high school and some club, but hes more a baseball fan.
I hope that you have a picture of him with you...I don't have any...

hmm well this week, this week nothin really exciting happened. it was one of those weeks that just kinda goes by without anything too big. well, we are having some of the less actives come to church. in that aspect of the work im happy. well i guess from reading dads letter, im pretty successful. that letter made me happy. i loved it. thanks dad. ;)

our bishop is prolly getting released soon. hes been having a super hard time. we gave him a blessing and had a nice talk with him. i hope it helped.

day 145 Questions and Answers
Is it transfer week? Anyone going?
this week is transfer week. we find out who is transferring on wednesday. we are pretty darn sure that elder wood is gonna transfer. but who knows, this is the philippines after all. ahah

day 145
well this week was much like last week. lots of dissapointment. this week has been one of the hardest weeks of the whole shabang.. we are finding out that more and more people are lying to us and have some other reason as to why they dont come to church. this week for example, we confronted one our investigators moms, she wont consent to her sons baptism. she is hiding him and always lies to us so she wont have to face us and be confounded by the spirit. evil people. next, one of our other investigators, she cant get permission also. so the investigators that do have permission, just dont choose to come to church. it really hurts. Last night was extremly hard. so this morning, i decided to pray hardcore. i asked for help and comfort through this hard time. i am always learning that the lord has endless power. and i can always ask for help from him, and as long as im living worthily, there shouldnt be any reason for me not to receive his help. There have been countless times in my mission where i thought i couldnt do it, or i had extreme doubts about myself. but with sincere prayer and a humble heart, ive been received by the lord. 1 Nephi 3:7. this scripture is so true. i love reading my scriptures everyday. im sad that i couldnt realize the power that they can give if you just read them. and plus, reading them is free. If people would just realize that in this country, i think they would have easier lives.
So this morning i was kinda moping about trying to win the battle with satan, and i started reading letters from J, and other things that elder wood had given me, i realized that my blessings are far greater than my troubles. as long as i count my blessings, i beat satan. so when ever i feel something bad or have a bad experience, i count my blessings and always, always my troubles turn around.
What's the good of the bad. That's what Sis. Pajeda always says. i didnt understand it for the longest time. then she said it in cebuano and i understood it. It should be, "whats the good IN the bad." its like one of those glass half full things. im always saying that to myself.(but i try to say it in a Cardoso philippine accent.) hahaha.
so i saw the pics of Jens. in the words of Edna Mode "my gosh he's gotten fat" hahahahah. i'm not sure if thats mean anymore. people here use "your fat" as a compliment or as a way of saying, your fat, you have food, you do well for yourself. so he is prolly doing well for himself :)
well i will always try to look on the bright side of life. oh and i hit 5 months on the 19th whooooo :) crazy!!!
i still have to do my laundry. ughhh... hahaha

day 138 Questions and Answers
What're you doing today for pday? Like everything...laundry etc. money etc.
today, went to ormoc, got money from atm, tried for 1.5hrs to email, ate lunch, haircut, groceries, doctor, really nothing fun.. maybe next time... we did our laundry, 1st i soak in soap then scrub all the gunk off then rinse then put in fabric softener. then hang.
Have you gotten to play soccer yet? Any little kids play with you?
No. the kids here all play bball. or sandal dodgeball of death game. i got hit in the boys last friday.
Do you sleep good?
ohhhh yaaaa... sooo tired from working all day that i have to sleep.
Are there mosquitos? Do you have to sleep with a net?
no misquitos in our apt. i sleep with a fan on me though.
Did you write anyone else?
Mom please forgive me but i really dont have to much time today. the internet is sucky here.
How much do the stamps cost to mail a letter?
it costs 75 pesos per letter. so the conversion rate is 43p to 1dollar.
Tell us about the guy/kid who comes in steals the envelopes of Jessica's letter...
well, he is a little deaf kid, he is a fetchin punk! he broke into our apt. a while ago and stole 8000 pesos!! we got majority of it back and are still in the legal process. but ya he is tiny and deaf. sad...

sister P. the witch doctor lady. new stories next week, with video.
Best and worst.worst- no one is coming to church. best-sister P. told us some funny jokes.
