Easter leftovers

Just what do you do with the Easter Candy, that everyone is SICK of.....

(FYI, We didn't have have a TON of candy either. the older 3 had 23 eggs each with a book. the younger two had less, but with a book)

YAY!!!

do you think my boys were heartbroken? NOPE, they help unwrap all of the candy.
do you think they helped me? HECK YAH!! every single one of my boys, from the oldest to the youngest.
do you think I heard one complain about where their candy went? HECK NO. they all had their noses in their books

Here's the count:
80+ filled chocolate cupcakes for the cub scouts
125+ empty plastic Easter eggs
2 empty cupcake paper containers
4 chocolate cake mixes
1 empty quart of applesauce (I put applesauce in cake, instead of oil)
3 tubs of chocolate frosting
4 empty extra Easter candy bags
6 empty Easter buckets (we don't do the baskets, we do buckets. -duel purpose)
5 happy, non sugar high boys
1 happy mommy
1 refreshment assignment completed!!

I do have one lonely XL bag of Kisses leftover. They are hiding. I think I will bring them out, later.. way way way way later, and then make peanut butter blossom cookies with them.

The little boys went to their 1st Easter Egg hunt. They had a blast.

The older three boys didn't want to join in on the hunt.

It's  a little below them.

In the first picture, there were also some life-size characters there too.

The boys weren't too amused to see them.

Earth Day 2011

Lowe's Home Improvement was giving away 1 million trees for EARTH DAY

While, I was out and about on Saturday.

I stop not just at 1 Lowe's, but 2 Lowe's.

I picked up 6 little tree saplings.

Not too bad for FREE!!

Oh these are Douglas Firs (think Christmas trees) and Western Yellow Pine.

The trees will be potted until they are 2 years old

then into a permanent spot in the back yard.

I hope these trees will actually grow to full height,

I don't like seeing my neighbors.

I get that from my mom.

Yup I said that RIGHT!!

CVS has :
Listerine mouthwash on sale for 5/$5
Reach toothbrush on sale for 5/$5
Reach dental floss on sale for 5/$5

Some simple math, that would mean  1 is just a $1.... still with me?

I had a coupon for $1 off Listerine ... OK 4 of the same coupon
and $2 off Reach Toothbrush, when you get two... Ok 2 of the same coupon, again
and $1 off Reach dental floss... OK 2 of the same coupon, yet again.

Just as a side note: these sales are in the CVS sale ad, but when I got to the store and looked for them. The products were not marked. Kinda of heart breaking. On my way to check out, I graped a weekly ad by the door. Sure enough, the sale was in the ad. I told the clerk about it. He said, well, I can override it, if I have too. But he didn't have too. The products all rang up on SALE!!

Afterwards, the clerk said " Man, I have never seen anyone do that before!"

Maybe I should have told him about the 4  38 cent  Stove Top Stuffing I got just nights before.

tucker's room

 Tucker's room.  My brothers would be soo proud!!
I used a few cans of different shades of green oops paint from Home Depot.
We compromise on the stripes. I wanted them a bit wider, but he wanted them thinner, so the width of the  painter's tape won!!

He calls it "his green prison"
The other 3 walls are a nice shade of tan. It's almost white in the morning sun.
