An 11 year old boy....not mine.
I am watching him for the summer. His mom works. She is a single mom with 2 school aged kids. I was suppose to have both the brother and sister. But the sister didn't want to come to a house full of BOYS--do you blame her?! So she went to the daycare with her mom.
It is only the first week of the summer, and I am ready to pull my hair out. ALL HE wants to do is play games on the net. He brought over his game cube and his Nintendo DS to play, but my boys hijack them. We don't have one or any, WE DO NOT want one either. (that is another story).
So I was thinking that if they are going to spend hours on end in front of the TV and the computer, they can give up a hour or 2 to play outside. They need to run around and be BOYS!!! The one hour is LONG and PAINFUL for this boy. Every five minutes, he comes in and checks the clock. I have thought about locking the door.
My boys are use to being kick out of the house to play for awhile. They LOVE IT.
Did I tell you that he doesn't listen and back talks?! And won't remember the rules or what not to do?! Jace has been in crying just from riding bikes and shoot hoops.
SO I need to go.. I have SOMEONE looking over my shoulder. AHGRRRRRRR!!!

The trek starts tonight....need to finish.

Justice'e eye
I am ready to try anything for this poor boy's little eye. It gets gooey and running every time I take him outside. On Saturday, everyone was commenting on how RED his eye was. When I got home, I dove into the medicine cabinet to see if I had anything for RED eyes. I found Claritin. I gave Justice half of dose. By Saturday, his eye was not red or gooey anymore. Maybe my extreme and Jason's extreme allergies have caught up to one of the boys.
I gave some more to Justice this morning. Here is hoping that the boys don't get my back problems and Jason's head aches.

The cub scout pancake breakfast
(insert doom, doom, doom)
Every year at this time, we have the cub scout breakfast. This year Jason, I mean me,was in charge of getting the food. The food bill came to $280 and a few pennies...not too bad for getting all of deals I possibly could on food. The menu was pancakes, eggs, bacon, toast, jelly, butter, breakfast burritos, OJ and milk. After it was all said and done, we went through:
2 bags of pancake mix --got 3
8 pounds of sausage--got 8
20 pounds of bacon --got 30 pounds
5 pounds of cheese--got 10 pounds
120 tortillas --got 120
3 pounds of green chili--got 3 pounds
10 gallons of OJ --got 8 gallons, use some REAL OJ from my freeze, fresh squeezed
4 gallons of milk--got 8 gallons
15 dozen of eggs--got 15 dozen
4 loaves of bread--got 8 loaves
2 pounds of butter--got 2 pounds
4 pounds of hash browns --got 4 pounds, needed more
1 gallon of syrup--got 3 gallons
6 tired cub scouts and 4 zombie leaders.
I came home with very little leftovers.
The cub scouts made a little under $900---our BIGGEST year yet!!

4. I have total a pick-up truck.
5. I know how to drive an 18 wheeler.--hazard of Jason.

Justice's eye
two for one day here....
Last week JR had his 6 month check-up. Everything is fine, except one thing. Our Ped is worried about JR right eye. She said she might have seen something, but she wasn't sure. So she referred us to an eye specialist. Our Ped thinks she saw 'an abnormal red reflex on retinal' ... OK so in English, this means that JR's eye would appear to have one or more of the following:
1) pupil( the round hole in the color part of eye) would appear white on casual observation
2)eyes would be black in photos--none red eye
3)eyes would appear to be dilated all of the time
4)eyes would appear like 'cat's eyes' -- all one color
Normal Findings in eyes
Light reflex normally appears red (red reflex)
Normal if red-orange or even orange-yellow
This is easier to see in pictures than explain. Here are some that I found.
This is what normal eyes do in pictures
this is what our dr thought she saw in JR' eye
These eyes have abnormal red reflex. See how one eye appears to be 'glass' over
The girl ( with the arrow) has a white pupil or 'cat's eye
here are some picture of JR.
So Jason and I both don't think JR has this. I think the Dr couldn't get a good look at JR's eye because he was wiggling to much. DUH he IS 6 months old. I did make the appointment for the eye specialist. It is not until the end of JUNE!! We will just pray about it and keep our fingers cross.

my projects--complete!!
here are the boys in my latest project....
Tucker just LOVE his new jacket..perfect for the mornings, which are still a bit cool. Tucker is too cool to smile for me
Jace is in hog heaven with his. I should have gotten a picture of him and his homemade kites... they were made from lunch sacks, sticks, string and LOTS of tape. not too bad for 5 year old.
this is JR in Jace's hat. Is he sooo cute?? or what?
Wyatt--camo man.
I have one more to 'fix'. Jason brought home hoodie for me for NYC. The head hole is too tight for my head. So I am going to be putting in a zipper in it, to solve the problem. ---easy as pie.

Stay-at-home mother's work worth $138,095 a year
I saw this on yahoo... thought I would share it with you.
--------------------------------------------------------------
NEW YORK (Reuters) - If the typical stay-at-home mother in the United States were paid for her work as a housekeeper, cook and psychologist among other roles, she would earn $138,095 a year, according to research released on Wednesday.
This reflected a 3 percent raise from last year's $134,121, according to Salary.com Inc, Waltham, Massachusetts-based compensation experts.
The 10 jobs listed as comprising a mother's work were housekeeper, cook, day care center teacher, laundry machine operator, van driver, facilities manager, janitor, computer operator, chief executive officer and psychologist, it said.
The typical mother puts in a 92-hour work week, it said, working 40 hours at base pay and 52 hours overtime.
A mother who holds full-time job outside the home would earn an additional $85,939 for the work she does at home, Salary.com.
Last year she would have earned $85,876 for her at-home work, it said.
Salary.com compiled the online responses of 26,000 stay-at-home mothers and 14,000 mothers who also work outside the home.

Man this might be the reason why I am always tired at the end of the day. Can someone tell my husband this??

a typical day with boys
It rained on Sunday,Monday, and Tuesday.. just off and on.. enough to get everything wet.
Yesterday I let the boys after school go out and play in the backyard. Everything was fine. The boys were playing in the wet/dry dirt. Great for building castles!! Fast Forward a few hours later....Some how the dog's water bucket got dump out. Wyatt and Jace were covered from head to toe with slimy wet mud.
Tucker was the smart one who was playing games on the computer...OK not really(more will come on him)
Wyatt and Jace got to clean up the backyard, and themselves at 3:30. Wyatt was less than happy with the idea of a shower and PJ's at 3:30.
Justice was not happy either. He had his 6 month check up. He is 22 1/2 lbs. He also got three shots.
Back to Tucker. Tucker got a note home from school that said he had colored his hands green with marker. He couldn't explain why he did it either. I refreshed his memory about the rules at school.
So run down of my day...
Two 'clean' boys in PJ's mad at mom
One got into trouble at school
One high on Tylenol
At least dinner was on the table at 6 and I did get my recommend sign.
