OH what a ride this has been! Emersyn, who JUST turned 2, is pretty much potty trained! She is doing so great with it. The whole "potty training" was her idea. She had been wanting to sit on the potty for a couple weeks now, and we would try here and there to actually just "DO IT", but lacked the consistency of staying home to get the hang of it. Well, this past week, which was also Ezra's last week of school, she started taking her diaper off when she woke up and didn't want to keep it on. So, Friday, I just decided we have got to do this. Not sure if I really wanted to, but it was time. She has done GREAT! Especially during the day. The only accident she has had was when she hadn't slept great the night before and got up early that day. I kept trying to get her to sit on the potty, but she kept telling me, "no, i not sit on potty." We were trying to get ready to go to the pool and I wanted her to go before we went. She kept telling me, "no, I NOT sit on the potty." so, I told her I was going upstairs to put my swimsuit on and she need to go potty on the potty before she could go to the pool with us. When I came back downstairs, she had peed on the floor. Pretty sure she was thinking, well, I went potty, now I can go swimming. HA!
Although she has been in undies all day, the past two nights and naps, she has been really hard to put to bed because all she wants to do is sit on the potty. Last night, she sat on the potty for an HOUR and did nothing. So, I was putting her back in bed, as she is throwing a fit that she is not still sitting on the potty, she does not want to put the diaper on. I make her because at this point it is almost 10! SO, I let her cry in her bed for a while when all of a sudden she stops then says, "here you go mommy." I go into her room to see her naked little bottom while her diaper and pants are thrown on the floor. She had taken off her diaper and pants and peed in her bed. I am pretty sure she did this on purpose. I mean she was on the potty for an HOUR doing NOTHING! She finally let us put a diaper on and fell asleep. Then, during nap, she was yelling she had to go potty. I didn't make it upstairs in time and she had gone poop and pee in her diaper. No big deal. So I change her and lay her back down. She then tells me she needs to sit on the potty. Well, I am pretty sure she uses the potty to get out of going to sleep, so I inform her, she already went and she will be okay. I close the door and she starts crying again. A few minutes later, I hear her say, "potty mommy." I go back into her room and she has, AGAIN, taken her diaper and pants off and peed in her bed!! SHE JUST WENT IN HER DIAPER! This whole potty training thing is so different for girls! She is too smart for her own good. I know she hasn't truly gotten it yet, but this will be a fun journey!

Well Visit Checkups
Emersyn and Elynn had their well-visit checkups today. I took the girls, while Brent stayed behind with Ezra. Probably a good idea, because right when we got home, Ezra ran up to Emersyn and asked, "did the shots hurt, Emersyn?" He goes in two months for his 4 year old checkup and I am pretty sure he will have to get 3 shots. He is nervous-nelly when it comes to shots! Takes after his momma.
Anyway, the girls did great!! Emersyn was just chatten it up with Dr. Davis and was so good about letting them check everything! She even wanted them to come back in when they went out to go get the shots. She had no clue what was coming next. Poor girl. I think it hurt her feelings more than "hurt" to get the shots. Elynn is always a trooper. She is the easiest, calmest, happiest baby on the block! She did not fuss one bit (until they gave her her shots).
Emersyn weighed in at 24 lbs (25%) and is 35 in' long (75%). She is predicted to be 5'10!! I had a really hard time with my height when I was younger, so hopefully I can help her embrace her height!
Elynn weighed in at 14 lbs (75%) and is 23.5 in' long (25%). It is so funny that their percentages are exact opposite.
At 2 months Elynn and Emersyn had the exact measurements and now at 4 months they are beginning to take different patterns. Emersyn was only 15 lbs at 5 months and was already 27 inches! She has always been 75% or higher for height and 25% or lower for weight. Elynn is doing the opposite so far. Dr. Davis said around 6-9 months is when you can see their true growth pattern. I am curious to see what she will do. I LOVE my little chunky monkey. Better to squeeze and cuddle with!
I just can't believe that Emersyn is 2, Elynn is ALREADY 4 months!! (well, in 5 days) and Ezra turns 4 in July! Where did these years go!?! I am so in love. I was at the store the other day with all three of them and an older lady stopped me to talk to Elynn. I had her in the Bjorn facing forward. We ALWAYS get stopped in the store when I have her. Anyway, her last comment to me was, "you are a rich woman!" I LOVED IT! I think about that a lot. I am truly, a rich woman. Thank you, JESUS!

Krispy Kreme and some sayings.
This morning we met my dear friend, Ashleigh, and her daughter Kate at Krispy Kreme. I decided this would be a fun outing for me and the kids (in lou of working out! HA!) and wanted company. It was actually a great time. I had never been inside Krispy Kreme and my kiddos hadn't either. Probably a big mistake taking them there, but it was worth it. We got to see the doughnuts being made and were given a free doughnut and hat! Ashleigh got two great pictures of my kids, that I had to post.
On another note, Ezra has been saying some funny things lately, so I thought I would blog about them, so I can remember how cute he is! Emersyn is a character of her own, so I need to blog some of her sayings too!!
Ezra: " hey mom, when it's dark at night, I have Tiger eyes and I can growl like this." he then precedes to have a deep throat growl along with his very serious face.
Ezra (while going potty in the other room) yells, "mom, hear this: Honey my Honey." Not sure why I laughed so hard, but it still made me laugh when I was writing it. He says "hear this" when he wants me to listen to what he is either saying or doing.
Emersyn is pretty funny. She has decided that she doesn't want to wear diapers anymore so, we have, very causally, ( i say that because she JUST turned two, and we haven't had consistency in being able to stay at just the house for a couple days to really do this.) started potty training. Anyway, when you tell her she can't go potty on the floor or in her panties, she says, "no get vidia wet". Vidia is a tinkerbell character on her panties, that is her favorite.
She loves to tell you "i already did" when you tell her she needs to take a nap or change her diaper.
And then, when Ezra does something she will tell him "oh cool." or "awe man." TOO CUTE!
My little/BIG TWO Year old!
My sweet, first born little girl, love of my life, turned TWO on Saturday! I just think it is so CRAZY that she is two. I mean it is such a shocker, but then, at the same time, NOT. She is such a Ms. Independent little thing and tries to do EVERYTHING her older brother is doing! She talks in full sentences already, and you can understand almost everything she is trying to tell you. If you can't she will take you to the source itself, or just keep telling you, "NO", until you figure it out. I mean because it's your problem you don't understand her, not hers! She is the sweetest little thing but, in the drop of a dime, can be a PISTOL! I love it. She makes me laugh so hard! She has the best personality and character. Sometimes it is so hard for me to discipline her because I am laughing to hard (and trying to not let her see that I am laughing) to be so serious. She is pretty good at throwing fits too. But then, she can be the best sharer of toys and the best listener. Usually she does what you tell her to do the first time. Unless, it's not what she is feeling at the moment. Ha! Oh, how she can hold her own. Her brother is even scared of her at times. Gotta love it!
The doll house she got from us and my mom. She LOVES it!
Opening presents before her party
Getting her pedicure before her party from Aunt Ashley
She was so cute and wouldn't let me take her picture
Her cupcake
Singing "Happy Birthday"
Licking the icing
Finally took a bite of it!
I pray on a daily basis for wisdom when guiding her and discipling her. It has been a complete difference between her and Ezra. Ezra, you can give him the "look" and he will stop right away and be so sorry. With her, she is like, "is that all you got." Which makes me laugh out loud as I am typing this and having flashbacks of different moments. Oh, how I LOVE HER!
As far as the things she is doing and "knows". She is so smart. She knows all of her colors, some shapes and can count to 5. She knows some letters too, but I think that's because we work on them with Ezra and she is right up in there with him. She would LOVE to be a part of his pre-school busy bee class. Unfortunately, you have to be 3 to be in his pre-school. We have another tortuous year of dropping him off at his class while she has to go back home with me. Somehow, staying home with me is NOT the "it" thing. Maybe I need to spice up our routine a little bit!
Happy Birthday my sweet Emmy girl! You are such a blessing to our family. We love you!
Here are more pictures from her party:
