5 Year Anniversary!

Today, Brent and I celebrate 5 years of marriage! It has been such a great journey. I just fall more in love with him with each new day. He was completely hand-picked by God for me! I love all of who he is and who he makes me! I can't imagine going a day without him. Each year has been a great one!
We have been truly blessed during these 5 years with Ezra, Emersyn and baby E on the way! I am looking forward to the rest of my life with them!
Thank you Lord, for all you have done and what you are going to do!

Love you, Brent! Happy Anniversary!

Christmas!

We had the BEST Christmas this year! Being that I am at home on "strict" bed rest and Brent was on 2nd call this weekend, we were able to stay home and enjoy Christmas with just the 4 of us! It was such a blessed time. Christmas Eve was spent putting out cookies, milk and a note for Santa. Ezra and Emersyn went to bed early, both were very tired, and ready to go to bed, eager to see what Santa had brought. Brent and I stayed up late filling the stockings, setting out Ezra's new bike and putting Emersyn's kitchen together. It was a lot of fun doing that together. We had a very simple Christmas. Ezra woke up very ready to see if Santa had come. We had to wake Emersyn up so that we could all be excited together. Brent did a great job getting it all on film! Ezra was SOO excited to see his red bike with his lighting McQueen helmet and bell. His stocking also had a "Mac" truck that can hold his Pixar Cars. Emersyn was excited to see her new kitchen with a phone that makes noise. After testing out the new toys, Brent made us breakfast. We had coffee with coffee cake! Yum-O! Then we opened some other gifts from Mom, Dad and Grammy. Santa even surprised me with a new 13 piece set of POTS AND PANS! Stainless steel. So nice. My brother was hilarious, he said I must have been on the naughty list to get a present like that. Ha! I loved it though. We have really been needing this. The rest of the day was spent playing babies, riding bikes and scooters and just loving on each other.

Yesterday, Brent's family came over so we could celebrate "Eilers Chritmas". At first, I was a little stressed out about this thought. We were hosting the event at our house, while I am on strict bed rest. There were 11 Adults, and 9 KIDS! Lots of fun!! All the kids had a blast playing outside or in the game room. They played so well together and did an awesome job cleaning up. I really had a GREAT time. Stress free, and just fun. I love his family! The kids dressed up as the Nativity scene and had a book exchange. The adults had a great time with our Chinese gift exchange.

8 of the 9 cousins played a part. Ezra was a Shepard and Emersyn was an Angel

All lined up ready to open their gifts.

This year was one of my Favorite Christmases yet! Next year, we will be a family of 5! That will be such a fun, sweet time!

Pregnancy Update

Well, a lot has happened in the past few days. It all started on Wednesday. I had a regular OB checkup that was only supposed to last 30 minutes. The week before, I had been having some contractions, so I mentioned them to my doctor. I didn't think much of them because they were inconsistent and nothing to really be concerned about. She decided we should do a Preterm Labor test (a Fetal Fibronectin Test) that determines if you will deliver within two weeks. She sent me home and said she would call me with the results and go from there. Both the doctor and I thought it would be negative, so I didn't think much of it. An hour later my doctor called and said the test came back POSITIVE! She instructed me to go to Methodist hospital to be monitored and get steroid shots that help improve the baby's lungs if I went into labor early. It was going to be just a little monitoring and then a shot, go home, come back the next day to get my 2nd shot and then I would be good. Well, while I was there, they did a sono to see how the baby was doing and to check my cervix. While we were waiting for the results of the sono, I started having strong, regular contractions and went into FULL labor! They immediately hooked me up to an IV with Magnesium Sulfate to stop the labor. I was then admitted to L&D. The sono showed funneling of my cervix which meant preterm labor also. By Thursday morning, my contractions had slowed, but were not stopped like they should have been. So, they were going to keep me on the mag sulfate for  a little longer. By midmorning, I had a HORRIBLE reaction to the mag sulfate. I was throwing up and having such bad chest pains. I really thought I was having a heart attack. They immediately stopped the mag and ordered an EKG. The EKG came back abnormal, so the mag sulfate was discontinued. After a few hours of being off the mag sulfate, I started feeling better. I was sent to see a prenatal specialist to do another sono to have them measure amniotic fluid, baby weight and look at my cervix. Everything looked a lot better. The positive thing about the mag sulfate is that my cervix firmed up again and was no longer funneling. By friday I was not having the contractions and was stable. I was moved from L&D to Antepartum. All of this and I am only 31 WEEKS along!
Long story short, I am hospital bed rest for at least this next week. The doctor said for 14 days, but I am hoping it won't be that long. She is going to determine that at the end of next week when she physically checks my cervix. She doesn't even want to go near that area because she thinks it will send me into labor again. When she checks it at the end of week and I am dilated, she said I have to stay in the hospital. If she checks and I am still closed, I will be able to go home and we will go from there. If I happen to go into labor again, they are not going to use any medications to stop it because of my bad reaction to the first one. The blessing is, the baby is measuring a week ahead and is at a good weight.
I know God has the EXACT birthday planned for this little one. I completely trust that and have peace with that. It is all in His hands and in His timing!
Thank you for your prayers and support. I will try to keep my blog updated with new news.

Love my fireplace!

I am LOVING having a fireplace! We have used it almost every night! Ezra really likes it too. He even wanted to get some "mashed potatoes" (marshmallows) to cook in the fire. It will be fun to make some s'mores one of these days.

Santa!

We recently went to a Christmas party where Santa came to visit! Ezra loved Santa this year, and Emersyn waned NOTHING to do with him. We still managed to get some cute pictures!

I LOVE THIS PICTURE!! His is my sweet, sweet boy!

Good family Picture (you can even see little "E" at 30 weeks)

Catching up!

Here is my attempt at catching up on my blog! We have been CRAZY, but a GOOD crazy!

Let's think back to November. I did post about Ezra's school Thanksgiving Feast, which I am so thankful because it was one of the best/cutest things he has done. Well, for actual Thanksgiving, we went to TWO spots! First stop was our good friends, The Garrisons. We had a great time. They have twin girls and little miss ella who is 8 months old. Rob and Brent fried a turkey! Soooo YUMMY! Lisa and her mom were prepared with EVERYTHING else. Such a great time. After the Garrison's, we headed to my dad's and his wife for another go at a meal. At least we had a couple hours in between eating.  Good food and company all around. We left their house early because the kids did not nap and were so TIRED!

Emersyn, Hailey, Ezra and Sydney

The next day, Friday, we headed to Fredericksburg for Brent's family Thanksgiving. Always great times when we are with the whole Eilers bunch!! Everyone was able to make it, too! I love getting to spend time with them. We were able to take our annual HUGE family picture and actually got a great picture. Thanks Aunt Cindy for being our photographer!

Getting everyone organized

Here we all are! (two little ones on the way)

Then the weekend. We were busy PACKING!! My grandma, aunt and her husband came up to help finish up the little things and boy did they "get it done"!!  Brent had some guy friends come over sunday to help him take down our play-scape. They were able to take it down and load it in no time! I was impressed. Now, we just need to put it back up!

We survied moving and after about 2 weeks of being in the new house, we are unpacked and decorated! Well, master and Emersyn's room still need some help, but for the most part, we are in and are able to breathe! We love it here and just Thank GOD daily for all he has provided!

We Moved!

After having our house on the market for 8 DAYS, we got an offer and came to an agreement by the end of the week. A month after the agreement, we were packed and ready to move. God is good and works in MIGHTY ways!
We moved into our new house on Monday, Nov. 29th. After being here almost a week, we have about 80% of the boxes unpacked, put away and some decorations on the wall. (This solely done by the help of some great friends! I am truly blessed!!) We even squeezed in putting up our Christmas  decorations! It makes it feel so "homey" already. We love it here! The kids LOVE it here, too, which has made this transition an easy one. God completely directed the steps of each process. We are overflowing with joy and peace. I will post pictures when we get a little more settled and I have time to just SIT! Just wanted to post an update.

Thanksgiving Feast

Friday, Ezra had his school Thanksgiving Feast. This was our first time to experience the feast at the preschool, but we have definitely heard about it from our friends. They separate the different classes into pilgrims and Indians.  Ezra's Busy Bee class were Indians! How perfect for my little Ezra. He loved learning about Indians and how they hunt buffalo's with bows and arrows. Just like his dad. He would come home and tell me all about the hunts and make his "Indian sounds". It was cute. I am not sure what I expected when I was preparing myself for this feast, but I am blown away with his school! They had all the kids sitting at one long table separated by Pilgrams and Indians, all dressed up! SOOO CUTE! They began the feast with a big table prayer, then were served by the parents that signed up to help. It was great. Brent even was able to make the end of it. I was excited that he made it to see how cute it was. Ezra was SUPER EXCITED to see Brent, too! I say this a lot, but we are so blessed by OHC Preschool, and Ezra's teacher, Ms. Nancy!!

The good, bad and Ugly of learning to write your name!

Recently, Ezra has been a kick about writing his name. I love it! I work with him on it using hand over hand, and then, he also practices on his own. Well, remember the story about the green crayon on our upstairs couch?? Recap: Ezra needed paper to write his name, didn't see any, so he chose to use the couch as his pallet.

Well, last night, he was up a little later than usual because he took a three hour nap. He was in his bathroom going to the bathroom, sitting in the dark. I was looking up something on the computer, waiting for him to be done so we could finish up and get to bed. I hear him say, "all done, mommy." This is my cue to come "help" him. As I walk in the bathroom and flip on the light, I see him sitting on the toilet covered in black marker!! It is on his cheeks, hands, arms and legs! I asked him what he was doing, and of course, his response is, "writing my name". I asked him if we write on ourselves and he says "no" to which I reply, "then why do you have marker all over you?" He gives me this look, like I should know why, and says, "but mom, I couldn't find any paper!" Okay, apparently I need to keep MORE PAPER out, but come on! I love that he is interested in writing his name, but would LOVE IT even more, if it was in the right place. That boy. Gotta love him. He thought he was in big trouble so he didn't want to come out of the bathroom to show Brent. I just laughed. He got a wash cloth and started cleaning it off. Luckily, it was a dry-erase marker so it came off very easy! Hopefully we will have more "practice" with writing his name, but I would like it to be on paper!
Just a glimpse of the marker EVERYWHERE

Aggie Game

This post is also late.

Brent and I went to the Aggie game, against Arkansas, at the Cowboy Stadium. We took the kids to Dallas with us, but left them with my brother and his wife. They had a great time playing with their cousins! We don't get to do it that often, so when we do, it is a special treat.
Brent and I met up with his Uncle, Aunt and Cousin to watch the game. We had a great time at the game even though the Aggies did not win. It had been a little bit since we have been able to go to a game, so just being at a game again was worth it. It was also our first time at Cowboy Stadium. Pretty impressive, even if the Cowboys are stinkin' it up right now. Hopefully we will be able to go to another game soon. I really love college football!

Hunting Success

Well, Brent is home from hunting! He got home last Tuesday night! I was very excited to see that boy! They had a great time in New Mexico, but came home empty handed. When Thursday was rolling around, I remembered that it was opening weekend for white tail here, so I kinda mentioned it and asked him if he had to work the weekend. He very cutely and patiently said, "No..". I continued to ask him if he was going to try and hunt. He again very cutely and patiently said, "I would like too...". After being gone for 5 days and NIGHTS hunting in New Mexico, he was trying not to push it. I agreed to let him go Friday night so he could hunt all Saturday. I ended up taking the kids to Fredericksburg, Saturday, so Ezra could hang out on the farm during the day. While the boys were doing boy things, Emersyn and I went to town to have lunch with some friends. It was a good Saturday. Brent ended up shooting an 8 point buck that was a great size! Biggest one he has shot out on the farm. It was fun to see him excited. Ezra was very proud of his daddy, too. To top it off, the Aggies BTHO OU!! Great little weekend. Here is a homecoming picture of Brent and the kids, and some pictures of his buck this weekend.

Pumpkin Patch

This is a late post, but I finally got around to putting the pictures on the computer! We just went to a little pumpkin patch at a church by our house. It was still fun. They each picked out a little pumpkin. We took the pumpkins home and painted them in our drive way. It was a lot of fun for all of us!
