Another Granny Tee

As a King Cole ambassador, I'm lucky I get to play around with new yarn and new colours each month. The Cotton Top range is my latest yarn crush. This flecked, lightly textured yarn is available in vintage pastel shades of a cotton and premium acrylic blend (Mist, Teal, Lilac, Blue, Avocado, Stone, Rose, Grey, Cream, Pink, White). There is sure to be a colour or colours you will fall in love with. You can buy yours here at LoveCrafts and get 15% off your first order, even better value. A new project for June I chose the colour Stone (4221) because it's neutral and will be perfect with jeans, white t-shirt and my old converse trainers. A comfortable, cosy outfit for walks on the beach or just sitting around the house. Now I've finished this one I'm starting another in blue (4218) which is another colour thats pretty neutral. I bought my yarn online but I have been gifted the new colour Mist which will also be made into a jumper, probably the s

Granny square jumper & Dill Tee

June must be a month for me making tees the knitted and crochet kind. I started my denim daisy tee about a week ago, a re-worked version of what was going to be another blanket when I had the brain wave to turn it into something to wear. The denim colour really does make the colours pop don't you think? the back of one jumper meets the front of another tea time in my garden on Sunday morning And I also started my Dill Tee from the lovely We Are Knitters, its my first purchase and won't be my last. I love how you can take the cardboard bag with you that doubles as yarn holder and I managed to find 15 mins to add a few rows whilst waiting for my manicurist on Saturday morning. The instructions and kit are just perfect for beginners and more advanced/experienced knitters, everything is in the bag ready for you to cast on. I'm now a #wakambassador so if you fancy a peek at their range (they have a sale on this week) you can use my link here just a

My granny tee is finished

You might remember this post from about ten days ago, well I've now finished my 4th granny tee and I'm currently finishing off my fifth one this week that I stared last year (oops). Indigo Blue came about when I took delivery of my Scheepjes Skies mini skien box (heavy/aran) and I'm in love with this yarn! I was sitting watching a film when I had the sudden urge to crochet another Granny Tee by Sarah (aka annaboos house) The mini skeins are perfect and I ended up using two boxes plus a larger 100g skein for the sleeves and joining. It has amazing drape and the colours are a subtle shift of indigo that is going to look fabulous over a white t shirt with jeans and flip flops. Perfect partnership and so bang on trend for the tie dye look that's about for festivals for this summer.  The total cost was around GBP35 not including delivery and I think for a custom made jumper that's not a bad price. I measured it as I added rows then I added side slits to my g

Granny Tee (Indigo Blue)

Indigo Blue : this happened last night, I finally dived into my Scheepjes Skies mini skien box (heavy) and I'm in love with this yarn! I was sitting watching a film when I had the sudden urge to crochet another Granny Tee by Sarah (aka annaboos house) The mini skeins are perfect and I've just ordered another box for the back plus a larger skein for the sleeves and joining. It has amazing drape and the colours are a subtle shift of indigo that is going to look fabulous over a white t shirt with jeans and flip flops. Perfect partnership. You can watch my progress over on my Instagram account. Indigo Blue I buy my yarn from Lusciously Loopy because the service is first class and I like to support independent businesses. Lynn stocks the Scheepjes Skies mini skein packs and the full size 100g skeins and shes super helpful when it comes to helping customers in the UK and Worldwide. crochet granny square tee (top) revisited

Well since you last heard from me I've been mega busy finishing (and starting new projects) managed to have another quick break in Norfolk and yes, you guessed it made another granny tee ! I think its fair to say that I am now addicted to this pattern!! I just love it, the best bit is turning the circle into a square and depending on which yarn you use, the stitch definition is wonderful. So here is the denim blue version I made for my weekend in Norfolk but I didn't get round to wearing it as we had lovely weather. This version uses three 142g balls of Lion Brand Heartland but you won't use all of the third. Why not experiment with other yarn like I did, it's great fun. Go raid your yarn stash! my second granny tee in Lion Brand Heartland Glacier Bay And I've started two more both in Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran- I have six balls in the rusty rose colour so this will be a kids version for my Etsy shop. The purple version I bought 9 x50g balls of the sa

Granny square tee

I'm totally in love with this pattern  from Inside Crochet issue 90 it's so clever and you can use just about any yarn substitute the start I've used Lion Brand Heartland for this version in this beautiful gold colour and I've also got a rich turquoise in my yarn stash to use for my next granny tee! in the round I hadn't planned on making one in this yarn, I'd actually started off in Debbie Bliss Rialto but ran out of one discontinued colour, when a lightbulb moment told me to use the Lion Brand in my stash. It's come out better than I expected, a sort of lived in relaxed fit boxy kind of jumper in the softest yarn, with great drape and I love it!! I can't give you the pattern (sorry if you've popped in expecting to find a free pattern, but I can direct you to where to buy your copy) What I can tell you is my notes on how I put mine together if you fancy using the same yarn. Here are some notes I wrote as I was putting mine toget
