Harmonics
Hello Again!!
Well today we have a mystery guest with us. He told us his name is Mat Rock.
He will be demonstrating us the stuff that we are going to explain today - Harmonics!
When a guitarist plays a harmonic, for example the harmonic at the 12th fret, what he or she is doing is lightly touching the string at the exact mid-point while plucking the string. This deadens the main vibration, which has a swell at the midpoint, but leaves any overtones that are vibrating around the midpoint, such as the 1/2 vibration, the 1/4 vibration, etc.
An artificial harmonic is produced by rubbing the picking thumb against the string as it is picked. This rubbing of the thumb against the string is sufficient to deaden all or most of the underlying tones and leave only the harmonic tone. The trick, however is to pick the string at the right distance from the bridge so that the thumb is rubbing the string at one of the harmonic "sweet spots."

Distortion Effects
Hi~!!
welcome to the first blog post!
I shall start this off with an introduction to Distortion.
A lot of guitarist use distortion effects to get the fuzzy sound on their guitars.
To actually make an electric guitar sound distorted on a speaker yet quiet at the same time, you have to use an overdrive/distortion effect on the speaker, or a stompbox. This is known as artificial distortion. However, if you turn an amp up high while playing a guitar(be careful) it will also sound distorted.
without anymore delay, download the podcast show!!:
