I didn't even try the pictures with Mickey this month. He probably grew a bit since last month :-)
What he has been up to...
Bedtime has become a nightmare. The kid will not go to bed at night. We rock him and rock him and rub his tummy or back and do whatever we can... it takes FOREVER and its usually 9 or 9:30 before he falls asleep. I can't handle letting him scream until he falls asleep. I Just won't do it. We hope its due to his upper teeth starting to break thru; I can't take it much longer.
This kid has non-stop energy. He goes, goes, goes all day long. Its amazing to watch. Luckily, he plays by himself really well.
We have wood floors which means we have divets/holes in the wood. Eli will find one and is mesmerized for quite some time. He will stick his finger in it, lick it and is just fascinated. Its pretty funny to watch.
He babbles/talks a ton. The talk includes high pitched squealing at times. But it also includes some great giggling. Love the giggling.
He is fascinated by other kids. He wants to touch them, pull their hair and talk to them. He doesn't understand when they run from him.
He has finally mastered crawling on his knees. The wood floors definitely slowed that development but he has it all figured out now. And he is already getting on his knees and trying to pull himself up. He has discovered the book shelf. Oh boy.
All in all, he is still a very content little boy and so much fun to be with. This is definitely way more fun than the newborn stage.
Here is a sampling of pictures from the last couple weeks...
At a restaurant trying to get into everything...
Chillin with his Dad... His hair looks way funny in this pic.
Learning how to ride the scooter...
Playing with his friend Jonah...
Getting comfortable in his high chair...
Cute boy.

mmmmm, dinner
He won't eat Mac & Cheese, grilled cheese sandwich, or eggs, but he is okay gnawing on some spinach?! Oh and he downed some trout last week. Crazy child!

9 months
Our little guy turned 9 months on 12/31. We celebrated by taking him out to dinner. It just happened to be a coincidence that it was also NYE. Ha. Remember when everyone said there comes a time where eating out is not fun with an infant? We have hit that time. Dinner is so not relaxing at all anymore at a restaurant. He throws everything that gets into his hand onto the floor and screeches real loud if he doesn't have something in his hand. Its exhausting. Good thing Eric is a good cook ;) Knowing us we won't give up yet but will continue to be exhausted each dinner outing.
This last month Eli decided he wanted to be a pill at bedtime. He used to be the best baby at bedtime always going down without a fuss. Something changed. He started screaming his little head off. We have no idea why this started. So I swaddled him one night and bam he went right down. But apparently its a risk to swaddle a 9 month old since they can roll onto their tummies and would possibly have trapped arms so we unswaddle him before we go to bed. He is doing much better.
His personality has exploded this past month. He laughs a ton, is basically running in his walker, makes all sorts of babble sounds and is generally happy. He will run his walker hard into anything and start giggling so hard. Hysterical. He can army crawl very well and is trying so so hard to stay on his knees to crawl but the wood floors make it a bit tricky. He'll be there soon. The stroller is still one of his favorite things and he seems to be tolerating car rides better. His two bottom teeth came in a few days before Christmas. I love seeing them when he laughs; they are so cute.
Stats: This kid has still not doubled his birthweight. How can a baby be almost 10 lbs at birth and so small now? He rang in at 18lbs 8oz today. 15th percentile. Height and head circumference were both in the 75th percentile. He is perfectly healthy just a small guy.
His energy is such that its impossible to get his picture laying down next to Mickey. So here are a few pics of him playing with Mickey instead.

Days 26-30
I blew it, I know. But 25 days was pretty good, right? We went out of town again and I didn't take my laptop and it just never happened. But here are 4 fun pictures of little E.
His Aunt Robyn got him a new Sabres jacket. Funny how Eric was already wearing his Sabres T that night.
Chillin in the stroller at the airport. E supports breast cancer awareness.
We had to wake him from his nap to go somewhere. He is totally zoning out.
Laughing at Gunther (dog) in this great stroller.
Great trip to NY. I'm always mad at myself for not taking more pictures!

Day 25
In your best baby voice say "How big is Eli?"
And he will reply with...
"SO BIG!" With his arms only of course.

Day 24
Tearing apart the paper on the exam table at the doctor's office...
Eli LOVES being outside no matter the weather. Look how happy he is and it was very chilly.
