Our little guy is 6 months old (tomorrow)!! Some days it feels like time has flown by and other days it feels like he has been with us forever. (those are the days when I'm just really tired. :))
At 6 months, Eli is...
almost sitting up by himself
eating veggies and rice cereal
starting to grab at EVERYTHING... plants, drawers, cupboards, dish rags... anything that he can reach. Oh boy
barely rolling over. I think its out of laziness not because he can't. He just doesn't.
talking a ton. lots of 'ba ba ba', 'da da da', 'ma, ma, ma'
intently watching us eat
starting to want more attention
he loves his daddy! He gets the biggest smile on his face whenever Eric walks into the room. So cute.
Is it too early to start planning his 1 year birthday? :-)

Estes Park
After seeing Lindsay's (my niece) post about their weekend getaway in the mountains, I knew that was what I wanted to do for our anniversary this year. So we headed up to Estes Park (about 90 miles away) and plopped ourselves in this cottage and enjoyed the mountain air for a couple days.
We saw lots of elk. This one was right on our property.
Eli liked watching the elk from his walker.
I was so happy to bundle him up in the crisp morning air. I've been waiting all summer to do this.
He loves his new stroller and being able to look out and see the world. He never makes a peep when we are on a walk.
This swing was right by our cottage.
When we got back home we hit Oktoberfest in downtown Denver. Eli loved his first taste of German food ;)
We were so relaxed by the time we got home. I think we found ourselves an annual tradition. It was nice to be able to cook our own food, sit outside, go on walks. What a great anniversary present to us.

ready for church
I wish I could remember who gave Eli this shirt because I can't stand how cute it is. He looked so great at church with his white shirt and tie. What a big boy!
He has been working his mouth the last week or so trying to say new things and it finally came out today. He has been saying "da da da" all afternoon. We love it.

Time for rice cereal
What a riot it was introducing him to rice cereal this weekend. As you can tell by his face, he didn't really enjoy it. But we sure did :-) I'm pretty certain it will take the entire month of September to get him used to this process.
And one more cute pic for good measure. He looks so handsome in his shoes that Laurel gave him.
