3 Months

Eli has found his voice. It happened last week while I was in Arizona (which was a great trip!). I think when all the little kids were talking he thought he should be talking to. It was one of those "is he fussing or talking" type sounds. But as the days have gone on, its less of the fussy sound and more talking. Last night he talked to himself for 45 minutes straight when we put him to bed before he finally fell asleep. I think he was so excited to hear himself that he just didn't want to stop. It was so cute.

We got him a play mat and he can scooch himself off of it by digging in his heals and wiggling. He sure is trying hard to roll to his side as well. He arches his back and starts swinging his left leg over his body. Shouldn't be too much longer.
We also got him a walker. One foot can touch the ground if he leans to the side. But man he loves chewing on the toys that came with it. Drool monster. Its a little gross but he loves it so much I was letting him get soaked with drool and then changing him. Today I started putting a bib on him. Much easier.

No height or weight measurements this month. Our next scheduled well-baby check isn't until he hits 4 months. I was going to go in just to get his height and weight but its enough of a drive that I decided not to.

We are off to visit my family tomorrow for a few days. Here's hoping he travels well...

SAHM

SAHM= Stay At Home Mom. I never heard that acronym until recently. And that acronym describes my life for the last 11 weeks. And its starting to sound real nice. The first 6 weeks I was in a haze, the next two I was getting Eli on a routine and the past 3 have been great. So what next? My maternity leave is officially over this week. I decided to take an additional two weeks using my paid time-off (love that we are allowed to do that) which puts me back at work the week of July 5th. I spoke with my manager and they are trying to find me a position where I can work at my own leisure about 16 hours/week. (I have one co-worker who reads this blog, so keep quiet Ty ;)). If that doesn't pan out, my days with my current company are coming to an end. I obviously am totally fine with that :). Eric, on the other hand is a bit more uptight about it. (Is uptight the right word? Stressed? Not sure the right word). It will be a sacrifice to lose my full-time income but we feel its worth it for the next few years. Life is too short. I may pick up a couple shifts at a lab (I'm a Med Tech for those who didn't know) just to keep a foot in my field.
So what I've discovered as a SAHM is that you have to get out of the house every day or you go crazy and going out of the house generally involves spending money. That=bad. Its time to start picking up my hobbies again so going to Target and the mall are not daily occurrences. Daily walks are good too and now that the weather is nice more of those need to happen.

What else has been happening? I started back to the gym this week. Man its hard to make that initial move back. I worked out for 30 minutes and it wasn't as bad as I thought... yet... I start with a personal trainer tomorrow night. My goal was to be back to pre-pregnancy weight by the time we visit Eric's family end of July. It will be close.

Okay, I've rambled enough. Here are two pics of Eli - yes in his bumbo again. He is smiling a ton lately, drooling like a madman, watching Baby Einstein videos and loving them, and rolling to his side a bit. He is still sleeping 8+ hours at night and is generally chill. I love that he is past the delicate newborn stage.

Smarty Pants

We may have a genius on our hands. He already understands the English language and can respond to questions. This video proves it...

And yes, we know he is too little to be in the Bumbo yet. We were just seeing how he would do. A few more weeks and he'll be good to go. We don't want anyone to think we are abusing our young lad ;)
