We decided to change out the light fixture in the bathroom. And then we decided to get a new vanity mirror so Eric had to pull off the old one. He was in there quite awhile so I walked in to see what he was doing. This is what I walked into.
The mirror was glued pretty well on the wall so instead of prying it off he cut around the whole entire thing. Yep, cut right into the drywall leaving a nice project for himself this week. Good thing I'm leaving today for 4 days. Can't wait to see the finished project on Thursday. It will be done, right EW??

Fertility deity
Eric's sister, Robyn gave me this Kokopelli pendant last week. Kokopelli is believed by the Southwestern Native American culture to increase chances of pregnancy and childbirth (among other beliefs). I thought it was incredibly sweet of her to give this to me. I'm anxious to get a chain and wear this.
So many of Eric's relatives that I met told us that they were praying for us to get pregnant. We feel so blessed to be in so many prayers. I think good things are coming.

Week 42
I absolutely love Western NY. It is so gorgeous in the summer. There are rolling hills, farms, miles of corn fields and so much green everywhere. I fall in love more and more each time we visit that part of the country.
Eric and I went and visited his family this past week (bet you couldn't guess). It was sunny and humid and then cloudy and rainy; we got it all and I couldn't get enough. I don't think it hurts that his parents home is tucked away in the woods with no visible neighbors, surrounded by trees with a deck that is probably 800 square feet. So beautiful.
We did quite a bit while there - tubing on the lake, shopping, reading, relaxing, playing cards, working in the yard (Eric, not me :)). We were lucky enough to be there the week of the LDS Hill Cumorah pageant. Its about 20 minutes from his parents so Eric and I went one night. I had never seen it before. What a great production.
The stage...
The cast of 800 on stage. Very impressive.
The highlight of the week though was the "Meet and Greet" party that his family threw for us. I met Aunts and Uncles and cousins and friends. We had a card tournament (which I loved!), and tons and tons of amazing food. In fact I'm eating a salad right now trying to make up for all the calories I consumed on Saturday alone. :) The party was outside at his parent's home. The weather was beautiful and everyone stayed well into the night.
Here are some of the pics from the event.
Dan and Joan, Mary Pat's Mother...
Three of Lu's sisters and her one sister-in-law. Lu is one of 7 girls in her family. She has one brother (who was there as well) right in the middle of all those girls.
Sam and Dale playing Kan Jam - very fun game but I suggest not playing in a dress like I tried to do.
Group shot. And yes, I'm playing cards. I can never get enough cards.
Louie (Dan and Kellsie's nephew), Ally, Sarah and Tony. Such good kids.
Sue (Eric's cousin) and son Adam. He was the cutest thing.
It was such a great party. At one point a campfire was even going and we sang a campfire song. Thanks Lu for doing this for us. We absolutely loved it!!

Week 41
Baseball, baseball and more baseball. That was our week. We keep saying one day this will change and we'll be stuck at home watching baseball on TV with a screaming child so we are taking advantage now. ;)
They have these camera people throughout the stadium who take pictures and then get you to buy them online (which we have before. suckers!). I thought this was hysterical. This man who we do not know at all wanted to get in our picture. I think he adds something to it, eh?
We went to the Saturday night game and our friend, Rafi hooked us up with some great seats behind the Rockies dugout. I couldn't help myself and kept yelling to the players who were leaning against the dugout railing. They totally acknowledged me and tried to throw me a ball but well, I can't catch. I finally did get a ball that they rolled across the top of the dugout so there was really no way I could miss it. I felt like a teenager and Eric, well, he didn't know what to think of me. But he was glad I finally got a ball. I think I like those seats! ;)
Our building dumpster is right outside the garage opening to our building. We were coming back from running errands one day and this is what we saw. And this squirrel could care less we were there. He was not letting go of that toasted bread. We watched him for a few minutes chomping away at his treasure.
I love this last picture. I wish it showed this creation better. There is a construction site downtown that is all fenced off and will be for quite some time and is also a popular walkway. We were walking by and saw these girls decorating the fencing with yarn flowers. They had bags and bags of these flowers and were attaching them to the fencing with zip ties. It was beautiful. I wanted to talk to them and ask them why and how and all that stuff but instead I just stood in awe that they would take the time to do this. I need to go back and see if it is still there. I hope people would respect their creativity and leave it as is.
I have one other thing I did this week but won't share until my friend sends me the pictures. Julie, send those pictures! :)

Say it ain't so
On a last minute whim, Eric and I hit the Rockies vs Cardinals game last night with some friends. As the evening progressed, the air temperature kept dropping and the wind picked up. Pretty much it was very cold for a July evening and we were not prepared. Top of the 9th inning the Rockies were trailing 9-3 and everyone was freezing so we decided to leave. I want you all to know that we NEVER leave a game early. Like Never. But the peer pressure got to us. We left.
We get home, turn on the TV and we hear "Rockies win!" Excuse me? What? They were trailing 9-3! They had the biggest comeback in Rockies history last night with a 9 Run 9th inning!! We sat there on the couch in shock and then we sat there so upset that we left and then we sat there in shock some more. What an inning to miss!! We will NEVER leave a game early again! I'm still in a bit of shock this morning that we missed it.

Week 40
Eric and I were on target for a round of IUI this weekend and it got canceled which is a whole different, irritating story. So we decided to get away for a night. One of the perks of Eric traveling so much is he racks up hotel reward points. He called Marriott and we were able to stay at this amazing place at Bachelor Gulch (about 10 miles from Vail, CO) on Friday night.
It was a king suite with a full kitchen. It really was one of the best places we have stayed. And it was free! We were there for 24 hours and it was heaven.
View from our room... beautiful Rocky mountains.
We sat by the pool most of the day. Its hard to see but right behind the trees in the middle is a ski lift. I think this may need to be a winter destination as well.
After we got back to town, we headed over to the Rockies game. After the game was their annual fireworks show. I love how they let the fans onto the field to enjoy the show. What a sight!
Eric and me waiting for the fireworks to start
We are going to hit the Cherry Creek Art Festival this afternoon and just relax the rest of our holiday weekend. Happy 4th everyone!!
