Oh, what a day...
The wedding was fabulous! And hopefully there will be pictures to post real soon! But before my memory starts fading, I wanted to jot down some of the memories of the day...
My girlfriends helping me get ready. Lets just say there was an incident with self-adhesive fake boobs. I'll never be able to look at Laurel and Marissa the same ever again.
Deana literally had a needle and thread and sewed my jacket to my dress right before the wedding. She rocks!
Getting a locust caught between the lace and satin of my dress while taking pictures
Having to take off my girdle after going to the bathroom because the corset was so tight, I couldn't get it back on!
The little flower girls were absolutely adorable and loved being in the wedding.
I absolutely loved my wedding cake. It came out better than I expected and tasted SO good!
Deana and Dale gave sweet, sentimental toasts. My Dad also gave an impromptu toast that was very thoughtful.
Eric's nephew (now mine), Sammy trying to do the limbo. He is 7 and kept everyone rolling with laughter. I hope we got some pics of his face!
My step-dad, Roger dancing! He is Bill Cosby! Adorable, stylish and non-stop energy. Let's hope those knee replacements held up.
My impromptu "I Will Survive" dance. It was as if it was choreographed. I didn't know I had it in me. ;) There was a bit of a lull in the dancing and the DJ queued the song. I spotted Eric from across the room and as I started lip syncing and dancing, he made his way to the front and totally went along with it. It was so fun!
The garter removal to "Folsom Prison Blues". Eric and my first dance ever was to that song so it had meaning to us. He totally hammed it up. Hysterical.
Eric trying to do "the worm". I'm pretty sure his back will be sore for a few weeks.
Watching my nieces and nephews come out of their comfort zone and dance! Some of them can groove! Chad, Marshall, Josh and Taylor!
Our guest book was better than I hoped it would be. We got a Polaroid camera and had everyone take pictures, stick them in the book and sign it. It captures everyone's personalities and turned out perfect.
I seriously was looking forward to the dinner and cake for weeks! But by the time it all started, I just couldn't eat. So last night after everything was over, Eric and I ate beef in our room, opened presents, and ate pretzels.
This morning we ordered big, greasy breakfasts which we ate in their entirety followed by two HUGE pieces of our cake and more pretzels. I think I might be having a food baby. After cutting out carbs for 2 months, it is my turn to PIG out!

Oh boy
Cardinals magic number is One coming into Friday's game against the Rockies.
Atlanta and San Fransisco are 4 games back of Rockies for wildcard fight.
It may be a stressful baseball weekend...
And for my friends who are coming to the game and don't know what that means... well... it means the Rockies need to win!!!

Hey, I'm having a birthday
Eric and I decided to celebrate my birthday this evening since I'll be in Phoenix and he'll be in Buffalo this weekend. He bought me this great Orchid. Its beautiful, huh? And luckily, Eric has a green thumb so it should last a long time. Such a nice guy! Then we went to dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant and hit the first two periods of the Avalanche game. Good times!

Sunday morning fun
I have been looking forward to this event for days and days. Fans on the Field 10K fun run. In just over 6 miles you get the chance to run across the Pepsi Center where the Nuggets and Avalanche play; run the warning track and sit in the dugout at Coors Field; and run the sidelines at Invesco Field. What other city can you do that?!
Here we are getting ready.
Seriously, we have no business doing a 10K.
This is Eric not stretching.
Beginning crowd.
First stop. Pepsi Center.
Second stop and my favorite; Coors Field
Sitting in the dugout.Me with Dinger, Rockies mascot. We call him dingbat because he must be the world's stupidest looking mascot. Dinger? Really?
Last stop. Invesco Field
Eric is saying #1 Bills there in case anyone was worried.
EW with the cheerleaders.
If you look closely, you can see me on the jumbotron. I think we have figured out why the Broncos are off to a bad start this season. There are no lines on that field! wah ha ha ha
Me high-five'in the mascot.
We ran half and walked half. I thought that was pretty good! It definitely got us up and moving this morning! And they fed us pulled pork sandwiches after. Yum. I love this city!

Rewind One Month
These are pictures from my last day at work in Henderson. I just got them emailed to me today.
My sad, empty cubicle.
My co-worker Jodi took me to pick up the Budget rental truck. She thought it was hysterical that I was driving that beast.
My co-worker, Noranne put together this beautiful basket of goodies. She is very talented; in fact, she used to own a gift basket business when she lived in Portland. I think she needs to take up that business again!
My co-workers took me out to eat that evening and gave me some glorious cupcakes. I've spared you all and only posted the more distant shot. :) If you don't know what they are, ask Tyler. He happened to be in town the next day and thought they were hysterical!
Me at dinner. I sure wish there was a group shot of us... I have great co-workers in Henderson!

mmmmm, cookies
I ran to the mall yesterday for a bit. While there I get this message from Eric
Eric: What if I made some choc chip cookies tonight?
Me: sure
Eric: We have tons of chocolate in the cupboard
Me: Go for it
Eric: I meant you make. I don't bake
This is funny on so many levels. But of course I made the cookies. I made the famous Christy Parry choc chip oatmeal cookies. If you have never had these, I'll email you the recipe. But I tell ya what... baking at an elevation of 5200 is much different than baking at an elevation of 2000. Here is what the cookies ended up looking like.
A bit flat. (these pics are from my cell; so not the best). So I got online to figure out my problem. There are oodles of websites in Colorado specific for high altitude baking. I'm not sure why that surprised me, but it did. By the last batch I had increased the temperature of the oven by 20 degrees and that seemed to help. The most common suggestion was to add an extra egg to the recipe. I will try that next time cause I don't like flat cookies.
But they were still tasty :)

weekend project
The last thing I really wanted to get done before our families came for the wedding was to paint the bedroom and bathroom. Project - complete. (Okay, so I really wanted a new vanity as well but it ain't happening; no time)
Our day started off with a nice breakfast at our favorite place - Dixons.
It is so unfair that Eric can eat this humongous breakfast burrito and I have to eat a bagel and fruit and fill guilty even about that! I cannot wait for that wedding cake and eating my little heart out that night! Damn diets!
This painting was my inspiration. Eric already had it hanging up but I didn't think the color of the walls looked quite right. Okay, I didn't like that color one bit and I wasn't good at hiding my feelings about it. :)
A couple other before pics
The paint color. Desert Moss by Behr, eggshell finish.
In progress. Such a different color, huh?
And the finished product. I absolutely love it. It totally warmed the place up and that painting looks fantastic.
We got done early enough that we even had time to watch the BYU vs. Oklahoma game and Rockies vs. DBacks. They were on at the same time so we headed down to a sports bar. Surprising how many BYU fans there were. Okay, maybe more of anti-Oklahoma fans. Two great games, one great paint job and one perfect day!
