I simply had nothing to do today so after reading up for the taiwan trip, I rewatched Jay's 不能说的秘密! It's been four years since it first came out, and i still find myself touched by the movie.

Shall do something useful now - go bring the laundry in. Then I can make dinner and spend the rest of the night watching tv. So boring to be alone at home! :(

So late le! Because of this job my sleeping time has changed from before midnight to after midnight. And I'll probably end up with gastric problems cos i don't/can't eat dinner on night shifts. Very sad job. But there's always a good side to everything! I've learnt that there are many kinds of people on earth. In school i'm usually surrounded by educated people who more or less think the same way as me and speak in civilized language. There I meet people who are really nice, they pass me things that can be packed tgt and even orientate the barcode to face me! Very touched. Some wish me a good day as they go, some help me throw the baskets behind so i don't have to do it. But such angels dont appear often. Mostly i meet people who think their money is so big that they kick up a fuss about everything! Ask them wait a while, kaobei. Tell them i have to go check for barcode, kaobei. Don't pack things the way they want it, kaobei. Even when i overlooked the presence of a trolley and let the person pass, the next person also kaobei me. Oh and the worst is when the person in front forgets to weigh something or get something and the next customers have to wait, they kaobei too! Like, its not my fault at all. No need to scold me in a language that i don't understand. Wah just thinking abt these things I feel angry alr. But yea I don't usually get kaobei-ed at so this is a v novel experience. Anyway, just 4 more days to go, then here I come Taiwan!!

feeling v restless now while waiting for results to come out. haha. now time seems to pass so slowly. A watched clock nv moves! These few days ive been working short shifts, today i even taught a newcomer! Quite familiar with everything alr. I just dont like running for barcodes, 'cause giant imm is so big and its difficult to find where a particular item is. There was this lady who happened to buy lots of stuff without barcodes...no no, she bought items that were on offer but the discounts were not registered in the system, so i had to go running for my supervisor to do a price override. Pretty troublesome. At least the people there are quite nice and willing to help with everything. But no i shall not ever work there again. An office job has regular hours, can slack and typically pays more. Next time must search for holiday jobs earlier le la.

Aladdin~

Yest i watched this musical with yixin! I was a bit hesitant about it, but still bought the tickets cos they had 50% student discount and we had nothing to do at night anyway. I read reviews about the show and all seemed to enjoy it. So we went in not knowing what to expect and came out feeling really happy! I loved the interaction between the actors and the audience, like when someone sneezed the actress said "bless you!" and continued with her act. It made the audience want to be involved in the show, and with such good response from the audience the actors were able to put on a great show. I also loved how they made jokes that only true blue Singaporeans will understand, although there were a lot of angmohs too. I laughed really hard when one actor started singing 我问天 and then translated it to english! It was so funny I almost died laughing. No regrets spending 6 hours worth of salary to laugh myself silly for 2 hours. Heh. The show will end this Sat, i can only imagine the crowd they'll get that day! 

Urghh feeling v tired after work but not in the mood to sleep. Haha. Today was tiring as usual. But im getting the hang of it now, i can identify fruits pretty well and know what stuff to weigh and what stuff i need to key barcodes. But I still had to run to find a few barcodes today. Funny how the long queue just disappears after i come back from my run. I had to handle really heavy cartons of mineral water today, took a lot lot of effort to get them into the trolley. Quite a few people bought bicycles too! Quite cute to see little kids riding on their new bikes. I have four off days next week! I don't know whether to be happy or upset about it. I get to rest, but I don't get to earn the money i need! Sian.

First day at work

Being a cashier isn't easy at all, no kidding. I had to help handle a customer who bought four whole trolleys of washing powder, cooking oil and the like. All imba heavy items. Some guy saw my visitor pass and asked whether I was there to visit or to work. Upon hearing that im an undergrad, he was rather shocked and said, "Undergrad still do this kinda work!" I had a very strong feeling that I was being despised. I shrugged it off, but I actually really wanted to slap him. I need money so I work hard for it, no need to look down on me thankyouverymuch. I also saw a customer THROW money onto the counter, with absolutely no respect for fellow human beings. Previously working as admin it was pretty much just my computer and me, now this job has really given me a taste of the real world. Total eye-opener!

These days dai has been the cutest thing ever. It's getting used to my scent and feeding times. Every morning when i eat my bread it'll poke its head around, asking for food. So i'll share my breakfast with it. It no longer darts around when i try to get it out of the cage, and is a lot easier to handle now. I'm so gonna miss it when i have to leave for beijing! Boo.

I got a job at Giant IMM as a temp cashier. My mum was like, why choose such a tiring job! No choice, gotta work for money and save for the taiwan trip in jan :) Yixin has it easy, I work 6 hours still earn less than one session of his tuition haii.

I have one more paper on monday then exams end le! But haha i'm already not studying much cos its an elective i SU-ed. Been watching drama and variety shows and playing games on my ipod. And of course, listening to Jay's new album :) Alright i probably shld study a bit now since im going out later to celebrate the end of Yixin's exams! Woo~

I was caught in the rain today! it started pouring right after i got on bus 199. i even got off a stop later cos i could walk on mud-less ground, thinking it'll be less messy. I still got very wet anyway, and for some reason the aircon on bus 172 was freezing cold. I kinda enjoyed the walk back home though, cos i could feel the cold rain splashing around my feet. Then I started to think, it would've been nice to have my 【李大仁】 around. He's this character in the show called 我可能不会爱你, basically a guy friend who knows everything about you and will always be by your side when you need him. I don't know if there ever could be pure friendship between a guy and a girl though. It wasn't really pure in the show ahaha. Aiya I was just thinking while walking that if i had a friend to share my umbrella with, then the walk won't be as cold even though we'll probably end up totally wet.

A warm shower after being in the rain feels exceptionally good! And seeing how the weather's been like lately, i'll probably have a lot of chances for that haha.

啊。。。好难过好闷，胸口像是有口气堵住。又不想跟一新说，因为他现在很开心地和朋友玩游戏。明天就要约会了，不用让他也跟着难过。其实也就是件小事，但不找个人说说还真的无法释怀。
...是不是所有男人都爱临时改变计划啊。如果不喜欢，大可直接说出来，不要在决定了以后才来改变想法。这样很不男人，也很扫兴。我不喜欢啦！！！！！
好了发泄完毕。

Just came back from dance chalet, i actually only went to watch the dance battle. And it was freaking awesome! I screamed so much my throat feels sore now. It was so good that people from the neighboring chalets came over and sat down right beside us and watched till the end. They were like, why got so many teams competing one! Haha. I wish I could dance like them. I've always wondered, what if I didn't take this TCM course? Then I won't need to have finals during recess week, and can probably spend a semester at some korean university. I definitely won't have 33 hours of lessons per week, and I'll be able to continue dancing with dear friends. Then again, if it weren't for the TCM course, i probably won't know what/why i'm studying for.

Last week dad drove us to his office to visit birdie. It now lives in a large aviary with friendly-looking birds that don't make half the noise it makes. It did look a bit isolated, but that's probably cos its so outstanding! When i said hello to it it said it back! it bade us goodbye too when we left. I'm hoping it's because it remembers the times we had at my place. Some pretty pictures!

Waiting for yixin to buy me meatball sub right now! Haha. He's been craving to have it too since the start of the subway coupon thingy. I love the discount - I already had a cold cut trio on Monday! Made me want to eat somemore. But the sad thing is, i've been having diarrhea since I started on Chinese medicine for my cramps. So I can't eat too heaty or oily food or drink cold stuff. Tummy still not feeling too good at the moment :( I hope the medicine works though! Can't wait to get rid of horrible cramps! Okay food's here I shall tuck in :)

痛经（睛）

月经痛的问题困扰了我很久，于是我决定去看中医。
我：“我有经痛的问题。”
医师：... 她认真地打着病案。
在旁的同学颇诧异地看着我。我想说，痛经这个病应该蛮常见，没什么好奇怪的吧。

同学：“左眼还是右眼？”
此经非彼睛啊！HAHA! 笑得我快断气！

可恨的三急下证。

“彭韵婷。”

“...” 我起身，心中不安。

“来，背那三条急下证。”

...我只背了调胃承气汤那一条。想说要是被叫到了就念那一条，稳过的啦。

“我可以背调胃承气汤那条吗？”

“我想让你背三急下证。” 老师冷冷的看着我。

于是我的视线飘到同学手上的条文列表。同学很讲义气地压低声音，试图提示我。我才看一眼，就放弃了。字怎么那么多!

“我还是背调胃承气汤好了。”

一阵哄堂大笑。我不敢正视老师，很快地把条文念完。

...太丢脸了啦！我要好好用功背我的伤寒论！

MAF 2011

Yest I went back to hci for MAF! Earlier that afternoon I had a nice date with yixin. We watched the movie {crazy, stupid love} and took pretty neoprints. Haha. It's been a long time since i last took 67 to school, I was surprised at how long it took to reach school and how bumpy the ride was. When I alighted the bus I realised the entire overhead bridge was gone! Stunned. There was another makeshift bridge further down that led to the main gate. Going back to school brought back so much memories. Cos we reached quite early and no one we knew was there yet, we took a little walk around school. The mini melts vending machine in the canteen was gone and replaced by a sandwich machine. Our class bench wasn't where it used to be, it wasn't even covered with all our correction liquid doodle. Too neat, too new. I looked at the room under audi and thought of how we spent hours dancing in it (and breaking into it to dance ahaha). The track field looked considerably smaller now cos of the construction. There was a {Tan Kah Kee Drive} sign erected at the road and yixin said it'll prob be easier to get taxis to come in. They built a new statue of Mr Lee Kong Chian in front of the admin building. Haha i totally rmb the stories they said about his bust at salt centre - his eyes will glow green at night brr. We walked past the labs and pointed out where we used to have our bio and gp and chem tutorials. How did we survive without air-con classrooms! It seemed they transformed the fishtank into a study area too. Back then we had comfy sofas and a little piano at the side. And I had the craving for half-priced hotdog buns haha. Hci is the place where i met great friends and where yixin and i started. Being back there, I could forget about the present and indulge myself in past memories :)
We met Mdm Madihah and she sure looks younger than before! She was very...excitable :) I made yixin buy me a balloon and had fun carrying it around. There's a little lightbulb in the balloon that flashes red and blue! Apparently at night the balloon floated into my dad's room and circled around him. He thought something was playing with it-.- I think my dad very brave. Right now the balloon's alr out of helium but the lightbulb is still happily flashing red and blue. So cute la.

I hate cramps!

It's that time of the month again! The cramps hurt so much that I had to take MC from internship. So sad. I really wanted to see the patient who stunned everyone with his knowledge of TCM. 讲得头头是道. Yup so I've decided to go have my cramps treated. Life without cramps...haha can't imagine that, but I sure hope it'll happen!

I should be mugging for my mid-terms on friday, but i have to write this somewhere so i can forget about it.

I feel sad. And there's really only one reason why I'll feel sad. I don't understand how a mother can talk in that manner to a daughter. Even though she gave birth to me, and according to her, she has the right to say whatever she likes to me, because that's how she is. Does she see me as a human, or just a punching bag with no feelings whatsoever? I feel hurt. Because she's my mum, I hurt even more. Then I get angry, and i retaliate. I don't say nice things when I'm angry. Put me and her together for a day, and we all end up with scars.

...i dunno what i can do. i'm not a saint, but i definitely don't provoke.

One more year, then i'm off to beijing!!!

I'm here because I'm still feeling awake even though i just had four hours of dance! haha. now we're all working very hard to make this concert a success :) Lots of pressure 'cause the evening show sold out really fast! Now they added an afternoon show to cater for more people, so whoever's reading do come support!

Today I successfully got birdie to shit on newspaper twice! Very very happy :) I didn't believe the bird would ever cooperate with me in the poop department. If I do get it potty-trained, I can let it out of the cage for long periods of time. Then it'll stop screaming so much. Shall work harder! Here are some pictures:

First time out!

yest i was talking about letting birdie out of the cage. so today i did it! I didn't know how it was gonna be like, but i watched a couple of videos online and their owners seemed to be having so much fun with them. i thought it was gonna be messy 'cause of its projectile poop but it seemed to poop less when its having fun. haha. i still havent succeeded in touching the bird, but i'll continue trying! I'm sure it'll be more friendly if i play with it everyday. here are some photos:

Ah caught in the act! how dare you nibble my finger! when it was sitting on my shoulder it tried to nibble on my mole too-.- good thing it didn't really bite.

the reason why i only got half of its body is 'cause it decided to chew on my phone so i couldn't move the camera anywhere else. i think it has a thing for my handphone. more than once it perched on it when i flipped the phone open!

Nice shot on it sitting on my shoulder. It likes sitting on my head too, but i usually get it down 'cause i dont want poop in my hair.

And then it went to sit on yixin's shoulder! haha he totally got a shock when it flew towards him the first time. birdie likes to nibble on his ear.

Love the bird totally. I only wish it could be a little quieter in the morning when most neighbours are probably still asleep! at this rate i'm gonna get a letter from the town council soon, for waking all the neighbours.

Hello blog! Today I shall share the new stuff in my life! I replaced my 3 yr old laptop with this pretty blue baby - acer aspire 3830tg ♥ I traded in yixin's even older laptop and got it for only $999! 

Pretty isn't it! It's so awesome gaming without lag now, plus its so light (compared to my previous laptop, that brick!) and the super long battery life of 8 hrs makes it easy to bring everywhere. Very pleased with my purchase :)


These days I've been waking up latest 9am  'cause of the new addition to our family - a rainbow lorikeet! It's very beautiful, and very noisy too. It doesn't like to be ignored, so it screams and screeches in the morning until I wake up and go talk to it. My mum prefers having her breakfast first so she leaves the talking to me. Haha. Here's a few pictures of it:

It likes to wrestle with the orange pen cap. It gets all worked up when the cap swings around and 'attacks' it!

That's a toy i got it from a pet shop. The first day I put it in the bird tore off the mirrors on the toy-.-  destroying things is its favourite past time.

Today I added this long metal chain into its cage and it loves it! When i was swinging it outside the cage it put its whole leg thru the bars just to grab it.

Ah that was how it came to me. I was so shocked when I opened the door and saw it happily perched on the bar and squawking as if it was getting raped or smth. 

Another toy that it loves! In fact i think it likes shiny stuff, especially if it makes noise. double happiness!

It looks fierce in this photo. It IS fierce, the first day it came flying into my house it drew blood from  my dad and i boohoo.

We thought the owner might be our neighbour, so my mum went down to ask them today. But it turned out it wasn't theirs! Looks like the bird will be staying with us for a while. I hope it'll get friendly enough to be let out of the cage!

THE VIRAL FACTOR

One film i'm looking forward to! I wonder how jay will be able to perform with such a strong actor in the show though. Ahaha i very bad. Jay will probably improve lots, as always.

I tried to stay up yesterday to wait for the election results, but I cldn't fight off the sleep monster :( It was really cool to know that so many people overseas were also glued to the comp, anxiously waiting for the results. Well now that the results are out, i feel really sad that mr george yeo had to go, and he was such a gentleman when he congratulated WP on their win! On the other hand, I'm also happy that WP won a GRC, and i hope that they will put their words into action. Or at least try to, given that PAP is still in power.

OMG vampire diaries.

I know this isn't the best time to be watching tv, but i couldn't resist watching this episode, especially when I found the live streaming channel just when it started airing. Good thing it's only an  hour a week.

Ah I'm so overwhelmed by what happened in this episode. Two of elena's closest relatives died, one her guardian, one her biological father. And both died trying to save her - the exact opposite of what she thought she was gonna die for. And so much for elijah being honourable - i went "OMG THIS CANNOT HAPPEN" when elijah took klaus away when he could just kill him and make the sacrifices all worthwhile. But well if that happened it wouldn't be as exciting anymore. Ah. And now damon might die, well of course the producers of the show won't let him die, so it's gonna be interesting to see how they're gonna make damon survive. And then he will hate himself for staking rose when he didn't have to...the writers are sure making damon suffer a lot more compared to stefan. I still love stefan more though <3 Can't wait for the season finale next week!

OKAY back to reality. Finally i can have a break from all this mugging - going to play badminton with yixin in a while. And yayy i find myself calm enough to start my mugging for today ahaha.

Awesome movie!

Yesterday marked the official start of my very limited mugging time, but i decided to go play anyway. In the morning I had to attend a conference about natural products and medicine, where most of the content sounded like alien language to me. There was a speaker who was very cute, he kept questioning if the theory of an ancient chinese doctor was correct, given that there were no scientific tests at that time to confirm the theory. So he did various experiments and found out that indeed, only at that particular drug ratio will the effects be most pronounced. I think it's really amazing! Then i went to meet yixin and we made our way to the sales events at suntec. Didn't buy anything though :( We walked around aimlessly until yixin suggested we go watch SOURCE CODE <3 Kept me at the edge of my seat from the start till end! Actually the idea of a parallel universe has been explored a lot already, I remember reading about it in Flashforward and even in Jay's SECRET :) It was still awesome-ly cool to watch how the movie made use of this concept. Highly recommended to watch! A good ending really makes a movie enjoyable!

I dun wanna study :)

Hello i am here to blog because i am extremely reluctant to look at my immuno notes on B cells. Haha. Right now I'm having a sore throat and have been blowing into tissues the whole day 'cause I ate a lot of biscuits yesterday. I found out that having lots of chocolate before my period came helps a lot with the cramps, I barely felt anything! And so I was gloating over the fact I didn't become 'heaty' despite having such unhealthy food. This must be my retribution :( Sorry body, shall not torture you with the unhealthy snacks anymore.

I had internship at tong chai in the morning today. Was in one of the acupuncture rooms. This time we didn't have to poke ourselves phew! It was the first time i saw a case of rheumatoid arthritis. I talked to her and ask her how did it come about. She said nobody could find out how it happened, and described how the joints got progressively more inflammed throughout the years and now the hands and feet are deformed already. There were a lot of patients complaining of pain in knee joints, guess its a pretty common problem amongst old people. Right now there's no effective treatment for arthritis, i really hope someone discovers it soon so people suffering from it can lead a better life!

I'm gonna go to that sale in expo later, hopefully i can find pretty shoes and stuff to buy! :)

Finally went to the XLB buffet! :)

Finally recess week has arrived and i only have 4 days left to prepare myself for my tcm finals. Argh. I shall not start complaining about it. I want to talk about my internship at tong chai! I've only been there twice, and i've learnt so much already. It is very different from the stuff we learn in books - real patients have complications like hypertension, diabetes, mental illness, tumours that the doctor has to take care of in addition to the main illness that the patient is suffering from. Very often the patients turn to tcm only when western medicine cannot help much. So we get to see medical reports, x-rays, western medicine etc and it's amazing to see how much the doctor knows about them. I also got to experience acupuncture for the first time in my life - not done by the doctor, but by my fellow classmate! haha. how scary is that! And its really fascinating that i feel the numbness only when the needle hits the acupoint and no where else! I'm still nursing a blue-black from that session, seems like a vessel was hit :(

Now i'm very inspired to study hard and be a good doctor like my lecturers and the doctors! I shall mug now!

I haven't updated for so long, it's alr past CNY! haha. Been really busy with my TCM module as well as the additional dance practices for the item we're doing at NUS concert. We had our mid-terms alr, which turned out to be horrendous, because there were so many names of formulae that are so similar but serve different functions and I couldn't recall which was which exactly. Not that I didn't expect it so be so, the exam was just too rushed. Need to study harder, as always.

I started my first internship last week, it was kinda like a pre-course before going to tong chai next week. It was a lot of fun! We did role-playing so we can learn how to ask questions and write a nice report. It was very funny when the 'patient' was played by a guy and we had to ask about 'her' discharge ahaha. Colour and smell and texture, very detailed!

Cute little hamster at yixin's house. They have like, over 60 hamsters. More now i think. They reproduce indiscriminately.

Life moves forward so fast, i'm glad there's still something that hasn't changed. Yixin still comes to accompany me after his work every alternate day, and  the main reason why i'm happy is...he buys GONG CHA back for me! Ahaha! I'm a happy girl~

dance camp

Very quick update before i chiong off to school! Just back from a 2 days dance camp. It was tiring, i was hungry most of the time, my muscles ached like never before, but it was imba-ly inspiring. I was very touched by how all the instructors gave us sincere advices on how to improve ourselves to bring the entire dance scene in singapore to a higher level. Very inspired by both our seniors and juniors alike, by how the seniors are still at the guan yin niang niang level as always, and the juniors for not giving up even when the seniors left the dance.

Okay here's a song we did at the camp that i found very depressing. HAHA okay its meant to be an emo piece la. Do listen!

on Monday Yixin and I went to east coast park to cycle. we reached there unexpectedly early, and got our bikes at 1045am. met Joseph who was working at the rollerblade store there, and it seems he's doing very well - his previous transaction was over a thousand dollars! it was such good weather, we had fun enjoying the breeze at the jetty, taking jump shots at the pretty hibiscus garden, and just taking in the sunlight as we rode.

and cos we had so much time (it's buy 1hr free 2hrs on weekdays) we cycled to the more ulu parts of ecp. found a big carl's jnr and a fitness corner. I made Yixin do his pull ups so he handed me his ring to keep. then when I wanted to return him his ring, he didn't receive it properly and it dropped and rolled right into a drain! he had a mini tantrum about it-.- he tried to lift the grate but it looked like it was sealed tight. so we got some branches and tried to hook the ring out. some ang moh came over and asked what happened, then he went to pick up another crooked branch for us. he watched as Yixin balanced the ring precariously at the tip of the branch, and seemed to be quite amused as he said "good skill!" haha. after a while we still couldn't get it out, and he said "are you sure this thing doesn't open" and he tried and tah dah! it opened! (this shows angmoh is stronger than Yixin) we hurriedly got the ring out and cycled away. too paiseh to hang around la.
and all was good until all of a sudden, it rained. heavily. we wanted to try and make it to the bicycle store, but the rain was simply too big and I couldn't see properly. we had no choice but to stop at a nearby pavilion, along with other stranded people. sure didn't feel good standing there just watching the gloomy weather.








when the rain got a little smaller I decided we should hold our umbrella and cycle to the shop, like what others were doing. i was getting ready to Chiong when I heard Yixin shout behind me - he fell off his bike. Haiyo. turns out he can't cycle with only one hand. so the two of us (me with umbrella and him without) made it to the bicycle store and returned the bikes. then we had to hunt for a shower and 7-11 to buy plasters for Yixin.



he's always the one falling down! anyway after that we went to sakae at citylink to have the teatime buffet! didn't expect the journey from east coast to town to be so short. after the very full meal we decided to go watch gulliver at marina square.



and I saw this awesome poster of jay and had to take a photo with it! can't wait for green hornet to be released :) oh yea I was talking about gulliver. I think it's the funny way the small people speak and act that makes the show really entertaining.

I finally did some exercise! went to play badminton with yixin on new year's eve. Very little people were playing that day, probably preparing for countdown heh. Later at midnight when fireworks erupted everywhere, i was in the toilet washing my face -.- So i came out for a while to watch the tv and said "wahh it's 2011". for some reason i didn't feel too excited about the new year, it just felt like any other day. to me, life just keeps moving forward, so many things not done, so many more things to start on.

Yesterday for dinner my mum wanted to go to sunshine place and eat mixed vegetable rice, but dad and i didn't like the idea. So dad started driving and then the rain came. It was so heavy! lot 1 carpark was full, so on and on he drove on the highway until the rain stopped and we ended up having steamboat at tian wai tian in serangoon! all thanks to the rain :)
