Contact info

I noticed that for some reason my contact info was omitted from this year's annual Flipbook page. So I thought I ought to just post my contact info on here, just in case.

Allison Laberge (most people know me as Allie)
allielaberge(AT)gmail.com

I've moved around a lot in the last 4 years so I won't include my mailing address (for security reasons as well) or my phone number, but you can always ask for them there. :)

Thanks for stopping by, I'll be uploading a lot of stuff in the next few days so keep your eyes open!

Final year

So apparently I'm a fourth year now. When on earth did that happen? Where did the time go?? It seems like just yesterday that I was a silly little first year, sitting in the lab (it was still in the C-wing back then), wondering what was in store for me. Now it's "go time", as it was so eloquently put by a friend of mine. I have my film idea, I'm just thumbnailing and working out the kinks, and I will definitely put up some scans, but in the meantime, one of my favorite pages from my sketchbook this summer.
It's playing around with a character I invented back in HS, and then me realizing, after all this
time, that I've drawn him with the same hairstyle I give myself. Geez.

Wow! An actual post!

I didn't think I'd ever return to this account but lo and behold, still on my second wind from a Maya fest, I decided to post yet again. Plus this is just to awesome to pass up.

The image is a small portion of a very long and detailed dream I had, eventually I will give it its proper bg. Both guys are real people, but they have never and will probably never meet in real life. One a crazed political enthusiast, the other a very down-to-earth relaxed fellow, they are a most unlikely pairing. Dispite their near-rigid straightness, they met on the dance floor in this dream and had a heck of a time swinging to the beat. How whimsical!
(quick sketch back in mid January, colored a couple weeks ago in Photoshop).

A strange affection

I drew this idly during what my group and I have titled "Tony Time". It makes me giggle.

I SWEAR HE'S NOT LOOKING UP HER SKIRT!!!!!

Something old, something new

I was looking for a photo in my files when I came across this little number (the drawing on the left).
It's a THREE MINUTE lifedrawing from the beginning of first year. I remember getting offended
when I learned that I'd failed the lifedrawing section of my entrance portfolio, but now I can't imagine why I would.
In heavy contrast, the one on the right is from week 4 or so of this year-- it's by no means perfect, but it's not too shabby either. Also, the old one took up about a quarter of a page. The new one is full page.

I just found it interesting. I highly recommend you take a look back at your old stuff-- it's quite a boost. ^_^

Gargamel

I haven't been inspired lately, so all I have right now is some Gargamel sketches.
He's the main character in our short film. There's no dialogue so technically he doesn't *NEED* a name, but early on we started calling him Gargamel. The other members of my team worried about copyright infringement so have taken to calling him "Zed" instead. He'll only ever be Gargamel to me.
