new day

Another new day. Another essay to write and tonnes of research to read. In any case, this might make for a good break: J.K. Rowling's Harvard Commencement speech 2008. (Thanks to JY for putting this on her blog.)

it's almost recess week.

Cliche, but yes, "time flies". It's already almost the 10-day recess week. It would do me loads of good not to have to run down to campus for once. The time spent traveling is just crazy (yes, i take only slightly less time than someone living in Tampinese to reach school. zZz). Every trip is like a great adventure, working out whether you should take bus 96 (and die of a lack of oxygen in the bus), or taking 183/189, where you might need to walk abit, but the aircon and seats are definitely worth it. I'm so thankful that I study in FASS.

Of late, I'm starting to toy with the idea of dropping my sixth module (penalty being one bid point. Don't really care much for it.) The deadlines actually are ok, but with the inclusion of that one mega paper (50%!) theoretically due end-Nov (which is impossible since we actually need reading week to revise for exams), everything just seems to whirl out of control.

The other side of me contends that I'm just seeking refuge in a loser philosophy, suggesting that dropping something might make the semester a bit palatable, but it's just so that I can slack a bit more. hmmm. I don't know about that. I shall have to ponder about that over the next two weeks.

I'm also rather demoralized by what happened at my tutorials today. But oh well. Confidence. confidence.
