i have a new friend

"eejun got himself a pretentious phone. BUT he likes it =)"

Yes. He was robbed of $138. But, the LG KS20 was kind of cool. More on my new friend next time.

Now, back to mugging :(

nostalgia

it's always had a therapeutic effect.
Some (cheap) food, sit around, talk, laugh (loudly) over the same old, stale jokes that have been recounted for every single meet-up session for the past decade (seriously, for the past decade).

But somehow, it's always a great time, despite (or because of) the oh-so-predictable jokes. It has made my day (or rather, night).

Perhaps I should lighten up more often. It feels good.

Ok, back to my work. (What did I just say?)

p.s. Do visit the Asian Civilizations Museum and the Peranakan Museum. Especially the latter. :)

which one?

I'm getting a new handphone! wheee!
Now, the problem is, which one?
(Note: I will never use candybars - unless they're atas, like the first 2 choices - and I'm an anti-Nokia fan. their designs really CMI.

The atas business phones (which frankly, I don't really need. But then, then Christian Dior factor is there :p ...):

the LG KS20 (S$168), or

the LG Viewty (S$98), or

Or should I get the ultra U700 that I have been eyeing for so long? hmmm.

the Samsung U700 Ultra (S$0).

I hate the way businesses generate new toys like nobody's business.

=(

disconnected!

it feels good to be disconnected!
Left my lappie in my hostel room when I went home for the weekend. just doing readings, tv, more readings, and more tv. No msn, no email, no NUS webmail etc. Monday comes, and I'm back in my room. Doing more readings. Oh well. Life is perfect (despite the readings) if not for SE1101E and EN1101E. I absolutely love these two modules. absolutely.

Anyway, I figured out that RECESS week means Really Exciting 'Coz Everyone's So Stressed. wheee~

I'm going cranky.

the holidays!

well, in exactly 14 hrs, my holidays begin. That'll be 229 hours of ME-time. Sounds GREAT!

But -

I need to read my 3 and a half lit texts twice.
I need to figure out what on earth my SE and lit module is all about.
I need to digest half of the A level history syllabus.
I need to visit every ethnically-inspired place in Singapore.
I need to be inspired enough to write a short report, then turn them into 2 long ones.
I need to catch up with my history readings. ok, lump in my lit and SE readings too.

WHAT happened to ME-time!!!

:(

i heave a sigh of relief

phew. 1 more essay to clear. and one miserable lit tut. But at least paradise is in sight. whew~.

Sunday, September 14, 2008

not great.

And so it was.
After 2 days, I didn't manage to finish my essays after all. Finished the lit one due tmr (though I have no idea what I was writing about), but I haven't quite finished the other two. geez. it's the last week. Hang in there, bud. sigh -

If Trend Micro staff does not get back to me tmr, I'm going to give them a call and blast that poor fella on the receiving end. Or, like what [na] has aptly described, "eejun's path of destruction". It's such a lousy program, it actually ate up 123GB + 2 GB of my hard disk space. And you need a bloody goddamn password to uninstall it. zzzz.

fuming ej,

the M.A.F. holiday?

yeah~ it's the Mid-Autumn Festival!
eejun has gone to the moon to celebrate the festival with Chang-O.
NOTE: He will hence not be reachable on his hp and online.

Actually, no.
He's sort of gone into a cave-like retreat to work on all his soon-to-be-due-essays.
:(

p.s. Happy MAF to all!

the male ego.

The Chronicles of eejun's most exciting adventures I:
the male ego.

***

It was supposed to be a normal evening.

My tutee has kindly requested to postpone his tuition session to the next day, and that left me with a wee bit of free time at hand. Now, factoring in, too, the Fire Emergency Evacuation Drill (i just realised that the acronym is FEED. But I digress.) that was going to be held between 8pm to 9pm, I decided to conveniently excuse myself from it by doing some exercise elsewhere, outside of my hostel.

That said, I happily jogged out, and for some unexplainable reason, I turned right and went up South Buena Vista Road, instead of turning left to go to NUH and then to the SRC (as I had rationally planned).

Some problems surfaced.

One, you should never do a new running route exploration at night. The roads can be kind of creepy, or more importantly, you could really get bumped down by some F1 racer-wannabe who's travelling at 150km/h if you weren't wearing those high-tech light reflective running gears (then again, that wouldn't have helped much. an impact-proof armour would have been more practical).

Two, I realised that not all roads lead to Rome after all. My sophisticated intellect had somehow imagined that S.B. Road would just trail off and emerge at NUS Sch of Biz/Archi/Engine. It didn't quite occur to me that: 1. if it did, Bus 188 would have had a stop somewhere behind PGP; 2. PGP would have been much closer to Clementi (which it wasn't; and 3. the legendary NACLI (some student leadership training school) would have been somewhere on the NUS radar (which again, it isn't).

Three, it didn't quite occur to me also that if all of the above materialised (which was exactly what happened), I would end up running for quite a far distance, something that didn't quite cross my mind then.

So it happened.

After labouring on for a while, the rational mind said that I should turn back and embrace civilization once again, and not continue on this mindless adventure that might take me to -God-knows-where. But the male ego refused to budge one bit. Even as Lianhe Wanbao headlines of 'NUS student gets involved in car accident' flashed across my mind, I continued on. The logical thing I did was to run on the pavement on the opposite side of the road (which didn't occur to me for the first 10mins).

After 20mins, voila! I found myself in Haw Par Villa. lol. On the bright side, I knew that some SBS bus services did go from NUS to HPV. On the down side, these two locations could be kind of far apart. geez.

In any case, one couldn't quite stop in those circumstance, right? So this adventure had to continue.

Only after 35 mins since starting did I see this sign post labelled 'Heng Mui Keng Terrace'. That was like woah! Thats the road just outside Sch of Biz!

Thus ended the first of the Chronicles of eejun's most exciting adventures.

now back to my poetry readings. ugggh.

September

So it's September already. Three more weeks, and it'll be mid-term break!
Oh but tell me, why do I not see the Promised Land ahead, but all my due mid-term papers! rahhhh!

I've also recently succumbed to the temptation of giving tuition, after all. 'A' level History and General Paper. ugggh tell me why!

I was so recently invited to attend a wedding. To say the least I was surprised. I mean, didn't expect it, but I suppose its a kind gesture. I'm not sure if I'm attending though. To refuse would be to reject someone's kind gesture; I'm not sure why I want to be there though. hmmm.

In case anyone's wondering, no, its not the wedding of my ex or something (I never had a girlfriend. duhz). I re-read this portion and it sounded like those mediacorp dramas on channel 8. So I thought I should clarify haha.
