It is difficult to determine what is right and wrong. Basically, there is no one answer to everything. The answers can change depending on the situation and environment. Follow your heart, let your conscience guide you through, hold your values in your hands and do what you think it should be.
We approach choices every moment, and we always find difficulty making choices. We often push the responsibility to people around us. Some common examples: Finding a place to eat with friends -we often do not decide and push the responsibility to others, by saying 'anything', 'whatever', 'you like lar', 'you choose lar'. I practiced it myself too, and we could not help it. It takes time to develop the kind of leadership among friends. It just takes one person to lead and there would be no more problem. Otherwise, teamwork is required and everyone has to pick a few places to decide on the final location.
Opportunity costs are often taken into considerations without us knowing consciously. When we think, we imagine the other benefits that we are forgoing. It is hard, yet can be solved, if we have an open mind. For example, this time round we go to this location and the next time, we will go to the other location and so on. There will be many opportunities for us to complete the rest.
However, one shortcoming of my example is that it is not clear enough to show the even more complex situation when you need to decide on something. Sometimes, it just involves your entire life, a decision which will turn your destiny either way. Nevertheless, destiny can be changed anytime by ourselves, it is never too late to make any appropriate ammendments.
Our decisions can be influenced by many factors, including moral values, traditional values, religious values, prior experiences, environment, personal character. There are too much things to think about and we often make the choices too late. These factors can be meritable or demeritable, it depends on whether our mind is polluted with values that are not useful at all or is of old, conservative belief that impedes breaking a personal milestone. The steorotypes and generalisation created by the majority society and passed down generation by generation which were no longer applicable to today's society obstructs the realisation of youngs with ambitious dreams.
To conclude, I feel that no choices are wrong, every choice has its own advantages and disadvantages. We could learn from the experiences we gained by making each choice and build up our own value system. We should make our own decisions and not affected by anyone, we can listen to advice from other people, but the final decision is ours, not theirs. You are living the life of yourself, not for others. Likewise, we should'nt worry about the choices other people make, as they can choose the life they want, all we can do is tell them all the possibilities and get them a clearer picture of what they can really do. We just need to be supportive for them.
Note: What am i writing here? I hope it is useful. It is definitely useful for myself.
