Britains Got Talent Final!

News Updates

100 years ago, people say that if a Black was elected as President in the United States, Pig Will Fly, after 100 days since a Black President was elected this year, Swine Flew.

The Swine Flu, known as Influenza A H1N1 Virus. Deadly?
The controversial currently is that there is some struggling whether to raise the flu outbreak to the pandemic level. It seems that the virus is not deadly, but it spreads really fast, more than 12000 people were infected over more than 35 countries, and the current death toll is at about 100 people.

The more notable details that will affect me are the cases in Malaysia and Singapore. Malaysia having 2 cases while Singapore had 4 cases. Is it good news or bad news? The bad news is that the virus finally struck our countries. The good news is that the infected were not the result from domestic contraction, but rather they all came back from infected areas. Therefore this shows that the virus is still not rampant in both Malaysia and Singapore. It is still safe. Do not worry!

Britain's Got Talent Semi Final Day 2 - Gareth

I think he is awesome, able to sing with such a voice without opening his mouth is totally amazing. It is quite sad and a waste for not proceeding on to the finals. Anyway, cheer up Gareth!

Police Station is quite creepy!

My blurry and careless friend lost his wallet and handphone in school today.
I guess this is a time for him to reflect upon what has happened today, hope he will learn something from it. Also, do not be too sad, and hope your life goes on.
Anyway, it is my first time stepping into a Police Station in my life.
I shall remember today 26th May 2009, I stepped into the police station.
Of course, not for doing something wrong, but I accompanied my friend to lodge a police report. However, it ended up something we were not expecting. The policemen is not friendly as we thought he would be. Finally, we never made the report. I guessed he is going to report to the Police tonight with his parents. Good Luck!

1 more week to go!

Here they come!
The June Holidays!
I agree that this period of time is crucial for both studying and resting.
Perfect planning is required, and I know I am no where good to it.
I have decided to go back for a short period of time.
I hope I will be able to discipline myself to study whenever there is time, and not slack around, wasting precious time.

Things that I will need to do once I go back to Malaysia are:
1) Practice my driving skills
2) Hang out with old buddies
3) Hang out and spend quality time with my family
4) Most importantly, the only period of time to relax. (Literally)

2 cases of H1N1 Virus have surfaced in Malaysia. One in Penang and another in KL. Apparently, I am going to KL during the weekend. No worries, since the detection there were no reported cases of spreading. Anyway, the death rate of the H1N1 virus is only 0.71%, out of the 12000 infected people, only approximately 90 people were dead. So, not a big problem.

The holidays is a crucial time and I would not want to blew it.
I have not construct a clear goal ahead of me, but it is better to excel in the present than say sorry in the future.
Today, I watched many many short clips, documentaries about the theory of relativity, the string theory, time traveling, teleportation, invisibility and extraterrestrial lifeforms and others. Those short clips were fascinating! I am truly inspired by the stories and theories.
Dr. Michio Kaku - He truly is a good physicist.
Hopefully, what he says is true.

Okay, I shall take a bathe now. see you guys around!

Its time to post again!

Today is Friday, it is exactly one week since I posted.
Anyway, I was supposed to attend dancenite tonight, unfortunately I have 'gefang' step down party! Wohoo...! Quite fun lah.
At first, me, Mei Ling and Brandon went to play bowling!
I'm number two! I can't believe Mei Ling won both of us, but she is a cheater bug! I won't explain here how she won, but she 'cheated'. =/ I should have won. Aiyah, I also not that good lah, my score wasn't above 100.
Later on, we went to this place called, Changing Appetite, to eat dinner. With Eric by the way. =) Food was delicious but expensive! Okay lah, still worth it! =)
Then, we went to 'drink' and chat and chat and chat.
Then we went back. Of coz I skipped a lot of tiny details. =)
And here I am posting.

ANyway, I might go to tommorow's dance night matinee session, but currently noone is there to accompany me. so i will see, if there is someone going, i might go! =)

Black Eyed Peas - Boom Boom Pow

IMCB Day 3

It is literally the last day I am not attending lessons in school.
I feel so sad, although the whole attachment was not that interesting.
But I still like it though, its fun.

The aim of today's experiment is to KILL the WORMS.
Isn't it cruel?
We nurture our own worms and brought them up from the first day.
Then, on the third day, we kill them.
Inhumane?
That's still fine.
Incomparable with the act of centrifuging the worms.
OMG... haha...but they did not die despite being put into a centrifuge at a speed of 13000 revolution per minute for a duration of like 2 minutes.

Anyway, we went to Holland Village again.
This time round we ate Subway!! Wohooo....my favourite fast food outlet.!
Got to taste another flavour!!
yummy...and also we bought some cards and chocs for our instructors.
Thanks to the instructors!

=) great! shall post the pic here nxt time!
need to mug chem spa and do bio tut for tmr.... +(

IMCB Day 2

Hmm.. not much to talk about.
Today we went to Ghimoh Market to eat.
Never went there before, and we found out that it is quite a good place to have food.
I ate Chee Cheong Fun with Porridge (of coz separate la, and btw its a set) which costs 3 dollars only, i think it is quite okay.

I also bought some biscuits, such as the raisin biscuits. Just in case I get hungry at the boarding school.

WOHOO... today i see even more worms. Quite fun.
Actually I realise that doing this kind of stuff everyday is more fun and interesting than in school.
Doing more hands on stuff and spending larger proportion of time is even more enriching than listening to lecture in just 1 hour.
But, really, this kind of lab work requires lots of patience. =)

IMCB Day 1

No lessons for me today!
I participate in a workshop at Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB).
Before I went there, I walked to school and met Zhao Bo to go together.
When we departed from school, it is 7.15am, 1hour and 10 minutes more to go.
The real time to reach there from school is around 30 minutes, but due to the highly and super congested road all until Dover, it took the whole 1 hour and 10 minutes.
okay, some comments to make.

The workshop is sort of interesting but kind of waste of time.
Nothing is a waste of time, every thing I do I will learn something valuable from it.
What I really meant was that there are many time in between in which we don't really do much, it is a bit slack, did not really keep us busy.
"Playing" around with bacteria and worms. Kinda Cool!
haha...
And one interesting fact which I feel so zibei, all of the other participants are in fact from secondary schools, OHMYGOD, and we are the only Junior College and YEAR 2 students. We are so old. We = 4 of us, Me, Zhao Bo from s74, Rui Xian from s7A and a girl from s7B. That's so 'amazing'.
We did experiment about conjugation, a subtopic that we learnt in the chapter of genetics of bacteria. We used micropipette which is freaking easy and convenient to use and handle, unlike the ones present in our school's laboratory - so fragile and imprecise instrument.

We went to Holland Vilage to eat lunch. Seriously, our workshop is more like a vacation than an attachment. We are relaxing outside while our classmates are stressing in school. haha... I ate this 4.50 dollars worth of Pork Chop Spagetti. Its proportion was really really big and it is nice, better than the Italiano Supremo in our school canteen, jus a bit expensive only.

=) Shall update tommorow's activity.

Essay

I am planning this essay.
"Discuss the role of traditional beliefs in modern society."

My Introduction Paragraph:
In today's contemporary society, traditional thoughts has gradually diminished. Due to globalisation, values present in western countries are extended across the world to culturally rich countries. Consequently, cultural values long-established and passed down from generation to generation were most likely to be replaced and forgotten. It is true that an indiscriminate over-dependence on traditional values is no longer practical and may lead to undesirable social injustice. Nonetheless, traditional beliefs still has a role to play even today, although with varying degrees of importance in different aspects.

Brief Comment: It took me quite some time to come up with the introductory paragraph. I think there is still some lack in it. The thesis statement is not clear. I'm not really done though, will edit soon. I can still feel that there is not much flow in this para. +(

Updates

Well, it has been a while since I last post, it is already more than one week.
I hope everyone who came did not think "Why hasn't he updated his blog?"
I am so sorry. Last week was quite a busy week, we have many on-going tests and assignments to complete.

Happy Belated Mothers Day!
I wished my mum yesterday! Apparently my parents were with my elder sister in KL yesterday.

For those who are curious when am I going back to Malaysia, I seriously have no idea.
There are mixed feelings in me, whether to study or to play and have fun.
I know this month would be a crucial month as vice-principal had mentioned once during CT session. So, should I go back?
I guess I should, it has been a while I am away from home. The last time I went back was during Chinese New Year, 3 months ago. Imagine that I did not go back this time round, I think I will only be back after my A levels.
Oh no, that is so not gonna happen.
Moreover, I have not been practicing my driving skills, it is also time to re-familiarize driving.
So! I came to a conclusion. I will not be back for the 1st and 4th week. I am still deciding whether to go back on the 2nd or 3rd week. Most probably I will be back not more than a week as I know if I go back I would not have the motivation to study. All I would do is, slack, reminisce with old friends. Arghh, I will try my best to force myself.

It is Monday today. No school no lessons. Nevertheless, it is my mugging day too. It is time to finish up all my homework and revise. I hope I can finish everything today.
Anyway, for your information, I only need to attend school once this week which is Tuesday. The reason is because I have IMCB attachment on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Is this good? Missing lessons seem to be fun, but missing them on this time period suggests otherwise.
I hope it would not be a problem catching up with three days of lessons.

Britain's Got Talent seems to be very very interesting and exciting.
You will be shocked by some of their performance, it is absolutely stunning and unexpected.
Quoted from Simon Cowell, a comment to one of the performer, "It is like a dog meow-ing".
He is suggesting that he did not expect that such a voice would come out from a masculine hoarse usual voice. Certainly I was shocked too!

Well, it is almost 7 am. I guess I should stop here. I need to bathe, eat my breakfast. And finally, start the engine of my mugging day. I hope I will attain a wonderful and productive experience today.

Ciaoz! Take care!

Rainbow

Have you ever wondered when can you touch a rainbow?
I did. And it is a coincidence, I did not use any prism or whatsoever.
Last Sunday. I went to meet my sister, while I was waiting at one of the bus stop.
I realised that there was a rainbow like colour on the floor, one fine line.
Probably there is a refraction of the sunlight through the plastic board at the back of me.
However, its worth remembering.
So, I decided to snap a photo.
Why white light contains 7 colours....?
Couldn't it be more or less. And why is it visible as white.
