Back From Bali!
Feel so tired and enjoyable after the 5 days 4 nights holiday in Bali, Indonesia. At first, I am shocked to hear that my family is planning to have a trip to Bali because there were several bombings in Bali. If I am not wrong the last bombing was about in the year 2002. Yeah, its on 12 October 2002 in the tourist district of Kuta on the Indonesian island of Bali, killing 202 people. You might want to check up more on wikipedia. But I was like okay, since this happened very long ago and doesn't seem to be happening in near future. Furthermore, it is not going to be so coincident, therefore went to Bali at last. So, I will now take you to the trip to Bali.
Day 1 - Bali 3rd December 2007 (Monday)
I woke up very early at around 5.30 am, then quickly dressed up and prepare the stuffs. Later on the taxi driver came and pick us up to KLIA, LCCT, Domestic flights. I am taking Air Asia to Bali. All along I thought AirAsia was not good at all, their landing and take offs being very rough and the interior was uncomfortable and hot, humid. To my suprise, it was superior, everything was perfectly fine. The seats are new, it like a new aircraft. I would never regard it as a budget airline again. Therefore, built up my confidence with AirAsia.
After that, we crossed the custom and a guide came by and took us off. The tour was only on our own according to him. We were quite please as the time would be more flexible and do not need to think and care about others. Although sometimes it was a bit of boredom as there were noone to chat with. But, the guide, Mr.Yan as we called him, is a person who is very delightful and friendly, my father asked him many questions and he answered it well. The talks were enriching for me, made me aware of things happening in Bali.
Our first place to go was the Monkey Temple. Mr. Yan told us to be careful of the monkeys over there. These monkeys were very naughty, they sometimes would steal things from you, so must be careful when monkeys are at sight. The scenery there was beautiful but yet nothing really memorable in me.
Later, we went to eat our 'lunch', quite late already. I think it is just more of a tea break. We went to eat Babi Guling, in English it is called "Suckling Pig". Wow, it is amazing, very delicious. Babi Guling is very famous in Bali, everywhere also can see their shops. You might be wondering the muslims eats Babi (pig)? No, it is beacuse 90 percent of the population in Bali is Hindu. That is why this is the case.
Feeling full and we are ready to check in to our hotel resort, Harris Hotel. I would also recommend you to come to stay here as I think this hotel is not bad. The rooms are quite spacious. Really a good choice for holiday staying. Then, we went somewhere nearby for Chinese Food. okay, thats not expected, we went there to eat local food. Not so Chinese though..haha.. Then we went back to sleep.
Below are some pictures of the day... (Haven post yet)
Day 2 - Bali 4th December 2007 (Tuesday)
Woke up at forgot what time already. Anyway, the tour guide picks us up fro the hotel. Before that, we had our breakfast in the hotel. Quite nice. =)
The tour guide said that another family are going to join us: 1 mother and 2 children. We picked them up at another hotel. Then, we went to the theater performance, i dun remember where was it. It was something about the fight between the good and evil. I dun really understand what are they doing actually, still don't know how is the storyline. But, whatever...
After that, we went to see the volcanoes in Bali. There were two, as mentioned by the tour guide, it has been erupted before, currently in sleeping status. We had a close view of the mountains. The scenery was marvelous. At first, we felt pity as the weather was bad. But, as we had our lunch there, after lunch the scenery was much better.
We ate buffet there. Most interesting and memorable there was, when we were eating (indoor), there were people outside. From the window, they were promoting their items wanting to sell to us. OMG...
Then, we went for drink tasting. Not that special overthere, just tried a few sips of various drinks: Coffee, Lemon Grass, Ginger and Cocoa. Then, we went to another temple...ok...dono wad temple is this. haha... But after this temple, there were lots of small shops. They kept pulling u in to their shops. Hardly to come out, with u r too friendly. U must be a good tawar menawar person too, GOOD BARGAINING SKILLS!! Need to at least cut 60% of the price, if not dun buy. The cheapest items available in Bali, i think.
After that, hehehe... We went for spa massaging. That was my first time having a spa massage. 2 hours, quite long but short too. That was my first time... OMG... felt a bit shy. its like only wearing undergarments, and nothing more. But, very comfortable.hehe...
After that, we ate our dinner at Jimbaran Bay. The tables and chairs are all on the sand. Facing the ocean, hearing waves while eating. There were some performances groups around giving us some entertainment. If I am going to Bali again, this would be a definite place to come. I heard that if u come during sunset time, there would be a good and nice sunset view for us.
Then, back to our hotel and sleeping time. Posted photos below. (HAVEN hehe)
