It struck me suddenly during the boring lesson on settling arguments tactfully that I had been procrastinating throughout the weekend on the subject of blogging. So, in order to echo my topic above, I will begin with Friday's happenings all the way until today's

Friday, 18th of March 2005.

I clambered out of my bed, stared at the alarm clock and contemplated skipping CIP later. I thought to myself that it would be yet another laborious flag-selling day just to fulfill the requirement of having 25 hours worth of CIP a year and this notion made me want to skip that event even more. But, I terminated that reverie based on the teacher's warning that I would have to find my own CIP hours if I had skipped today's.

Fast Forward to Tiong Bahru Plaza.

I signed my name, filled in my license, collected the hand phone straps, coin bag and proceeded of to the MRT station with my junior and a fellow Sec 2. We were debating over which place to beg, lie and steal for donations, on which we settled on Raffles Place, Shenton Way. Not Raffles City, the shopping mall, but the heart of Singapore's business dealings and its stock exchange.

It was decided that it was a dumb move to come to this place the moment we arrived as everybody seemed to be immersed in staring at the huge screen that displayed the stock prices to be bothered about us, and besides, we had already been pre-empted by some girls from an unknown secondary school to me. They had "Griffin" or other mythical bird names printed on the back of their shirts.

I appeared in Ang Mo Kio (AMK) with a Sec 1, Clarence. I did not know how I got teleported there, but since I was already there, I went to my grandfather's house to take a break, and to ask for donations too.

Forward to 15 minutes later.

I sat at the void deck, all drained out from appealing for donations, and thought of my next "tactical move". The name of this town suddenly provided me with two obsolete pieces of information. Brandon lived in Ang Mo Kio, and Michelle resided in Yio Chu Kang, a station away.

Drawing out my hand phone, I made calls to both of them under pretence of having a "business proposition" for them. After wasting a good bit of saliva, I managed to persuade both of them to buy a grand-total of 2 straps each. The plan was to meet him immediately at the AMK station and her on 2.45pm at Yio Chu Kang (YCK) station.

*I shall summarise the rest of the day in point form as I have 3 more days to blog about.

-2.30pm. Sold 3 straps and received 1 pre-order.
-2.50pm to 3.40pm. Sold 15 straps and received 4 pre-orders.
-4.30pm. Surrendered money and stuff back to the staff of the Singapore's Children Society.

I, the author would like to formally thank Michelle Ng and her family for buying 15 hand phone straps from me and 3 from my junior, at a cost of SGD72.00. Thanks!*

*After countless SMSes and phone calls.

Nothing really eventful happened on Saturday.

Sunday, 20th March 2005.

I went to my mathematics tuition teacher at Dedap Place and after that to Suntec City's Marche for lunch. I got sorely disappointed by the Swiss Rosti they offered. It was not even eatable; don't talk about comparing with the real Swiss fare. After that, I finished 2 large oysters and some desserts before buying my audio-technica earphones at Best Denki and pre-ordering Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince at Popular.

Nightfall provided much more fun. Brandon and I were having a great time tormenting Michelle. I had downloaded Edwin McCain's I'll Be, a song that she really wanted. We were debating whether to send her that song, with me clicking the cancel button every time she said something unpleasant to our ears. In the end, she received the file through the source which I downloaded from, as I had to go and sleep and the transfer was taking far too long.

To Brandon: I forgot to save a copy of that chat log. In order to enhance the viewer's experience, can you please send me a copy of it?

Monday, 21st March 2005.

First of all, happy birthday to my sister!

We had a stupid PE session with the Sec 1s today. It was a strenuous cardio-vascular exercise module, and hopeless co-ordination of their own limbs by the Sec 1s resulted in us dropping 85 push-ups. Luckily the teacher didn't see our whole class just lying on the floor.

The school day ended with me being piled with History and Readers' Digest homework.

In order to end the post in the tradition of the previous 2 posts, I will provide the link to download Edwin McCain's I'll Be here.

My sore feet touched homeground at 9.30pm. CCA had ended just 30 minutes ago. From 9am to 9pm. 12 whole hours of staring at algorithms, adjusting speed profiles (graphs) and tweaking numbers, but i have to admit that today was one of the most productive days ever.

We got to do a full fast run (The robot follows a pre-defined path and the purpose is to see who is the fastest of all) today. My team's 700 series mouse emerged second, with the first being a 900 series mouse. We lost by a margin of 0.02 seconds. Damn!

The teacher however, said it was a tie. A 700 series mouse, despite having a more powerful torque as compared against a 900 series mouse, does not have the ability to do a diagonal. This caused us to lose about a second of time, but i guess it is alright, as we narrowed the time down due to the superior speed of our mouse during a straight run. The actual timings? 17.87s as against 17.89s. Screwed-up right? You may take a look at the maze at: http://www.ai.com.sg/maze16162s.gif and the various programmes that we use and stuff at: http://www.ai.com.sg/support.htm.

I went with my fellow sec 2s and a sec 1 to Burger King at Far East today. After observing and wolfing down a large Whopper meal that only cost $4.20 (Student Special), i discovered that it was a rather complicated place. There were many types of people, punks, hooligans etc. They had weird fashion sense, with one even wearing a thick metal chain around his body.

Besides all these, there weren't many eventful things happening. So, I shall conclude this brief post here, and enter my revered slumberland.

Happy Holidays and Enjoy Life!

PS: Another useful link if your Windows XP is not functioning well or you need some Windows CD-Keys.
(Read the page and click the relevant link. I posted this link as the other real website is changed everyday because Microsoft keeps sueing the author.)

I slammed the keyboard in frustration. Crash after crash. Setback after setback. Problem after problem. The horribly screwed-up blogskins website kept going underwater, followed by Blogger's inapparent ability to check whether a website URL was available. The address http://edwinism.blogspot.com was obviously available but it denied me that wonderful address! Why can't it follow its parent company by having a nearly flawless search tool?

Let's leave these technical faults to those people who are paid-to-do-what-they-are-supposed-to-do.

I finally managed to squeeze some time out to finish this blog. From surfing the above mentioned website to registering and tinkering with HTML coding, it took me about 5 whole hours just to get to here, typing the maiden post.

I unearthed this treasured 5 hours with guidance from a medical certificate, aka the treasure map, and a doctor's signature, aka the proverbial "X", which marked the spot for me to skip CCA and camp at home coughing and pounding away.

Pounding at what? Pounding away at the keyboard think of what to type. But after much deliberation, I concluded that in addition to the arsenal of bacteria attacking my body, I am also suffering from a bout of writer's block, curable only by time.

So to conclude my maiden post, I would like to end with a "useful" link for you to download programmes to fight against spyware and to download some mp3s:
