I went home with Sharon this evening. Gosh, it has been a quite a long time since I met her. In our brief conversation, I could tell that Sharon has changed; she is now a happier person, and she enjoys every moment she spends with her fiancé. I have not seen a happier her since she left our company two years back. I am thankful for God's guidance and providence for her. It's quite strange for me to say this, but anyway, she is quite special to me: she is one of the first few good friends I've made since my employment in the private sector. Haha..... I really have to thank God for having a friend like her... :)

I had my first (and last) taste of horrid: wine, or more specifically, sake. I was lunching with Francisca in a Japanese restaurant, and she insisted me trying sake with sashimi. She said these two items were the best combination one could find when savoring Japanese food.
I was blessed enough that the one small cup didn't knock me out. Despite her generosity in sharing, I was disgusted by every sip of it - sake tasted like cough syrup. I couldn't hide my disgust, and Francisca, ever so "humorous", said, "I will train you to acquire the liking for sakae."
What's the moral of the story? Never, ever dine in a Japanese restaurant with Francisca again....
[Update: corrected the spelling of "sake" from "sakae", as pointed by Jas. That was so embarrassing!]

Sometimes I am really baffled by the violence in the world. Why must people kill to achieve their political agendas? Perhaps violence is the easiest and fastest means to establish one's political stand.
Although I grew up in a protected environment where I never had to handle political instability, I could still empathize with the families of the innocents killed in the bombings. I wished I had the power to eradicate violence throughout the world. Why does God allow these to happen? This is not an easy question to answer1; I can only hold on to my faith that God will eventually bring judgement to these terrorists.
1 Answers such as "'Cos man is evil" or "These are the doings of sin (in man)" do not answer the question fully. God could intervene when evil is at its fullest (remember Sodom and Gomarrah, or even the world during Noah's time?) God has His reasons, and I believe He will reveal all to us when we see Him (actually, we may not really care about these anymore when we see Him).
