yawn..*stretch*...hmm...what's that smell?

homemade, warm, fluffy bacon, ham, cheese savoury breads.

Fall away.

31 May, the last day of fall, the day before winter. Woke up in the morning at around 9, picked up the guitar, sat in bed, and started some therapy raRrr. Strange and beautiful(aqualung) stuck well, as well as no surprises (RadioH), cayman islands(by kings of convenience), fall for you by secondhand serenade, blower's daughter by DR, and lastly but not leastly, patience, GnR. Cayman islands was especially good for my cold hands that were dead stiff in the freezing morning air. 10 am, and we make distance to Mt. Fields, destination of desire. Mt fields national park houses russell falls, the 3rd waterfall i've visited since arriving from Sg. The waterfall is somehow steeper than the others(that i had visited previously) and it's water seems clearer, cleaner. lovely sights.

We the settled down a picnic/lunch at the benches beside the park. nice~ Roast chicken from coles/Coleslaw/Ham/cheese/mustard/italian bread/sliced loafs/bacon. Hahaha..food in Australia is really gr8! Beverages included apple/cranberry juice/teh-tarik/coffee and of course water. Because of the non-existant breakfast that i had(milk), my stomach was somewhat blackhole, sucking in more than desired! had 3 sandwiches, a fair load of coleslaw, as well as water, juice, and teh! i prolly ate more than i should have cos i felt sooo bloated and sleepy. We then took a drive up to see Lake Dobson. The drive was good as Ken and dad shared some banter..Collingwood vs Hawthorn, Past vs present..I stupidly chipped in that Essondon rocked my socks, who also later in the evening succumbed to Geelong by 64 points(largest i've seen in a year).

On the way up ken's radio played Greenday's 'When september ends', and i feel emo for abit. "Here comes the rain again, falling from the starrrs.. Drenched in my pain again, becoming who we are." I've always believed that experiences, good or bad, happy or sad, show us the way in life. This has always helped be get by and around tough situations but the song kinda brought back some memories of pain~ it was to say the least, painfully refreshing, but i guess i wouldn't have it any other way tsktsk..

At the top of the loooong drive was lovely scenery, and the lake dobson is beautifully placid. Ken goes on to say, when there is snow, the lake freezes and becomes a skiing area, which i doubt. But the trek down to the lake IS called ski-something, and not to mention it was like 3 degrees up there in the mountains. I learnt that wearing 3 layers of t-shirts, and 2 jackets doesn't necessarily get the job done. Yuppers.

After that, we packed up, and headed home warm home. Reached home, played guitar, had a tiff, power nap, and dinner time already? b..b..but..but...i just had lunch didn't i?! OMG It's been like 4 hours and i was still friggin fuLL!! no choice, Blackmans' bay chinese diner called, and i succumbed yet again. Dinner was good, had some tazzie wine with taiji-chong, jiejiekaren and gary, which i found not too much to my liking. I did have a second glass of wine tho, but it was as far as i went. By now i was on the verge of dying cos i was mad bloated. Considering my life, and his car, ken drove ssassa and i home, where i almost choked the toilet, before sharing my pains with the Valencia. Mum then knocks and apparently dad wants to play mahjong. Soon after, dad comes in saying that mum told him I wanted to play mahjong. It's obvious by now that 2 out of the 3 pple involved wanted to play. Ken is always game, and because majority wins, 3 became 4 and i found myself contracted to the table for 2 hours+. Mahjong isn't bad, but i was kinda tired and i was missing cards that i was supposed to 'eat' cos i left my concentration tucked in bed as i made for the MJtable. Surprisingly, i ended up not losing my pants(big problem given how cold it is here), and so here i am, weary and looking forward to where my dreams decide to take me tonight~ Jeanne gets me to load up agneselle and tracyeinny
to help her choose and i think this week all fail..srsly.. Ok..prolly tucking into bed now~ Goodnight. Goodbye to autumn. Tomorrow is a new day, a new season. I pray that everything under the stars and sky today is alright, and sign off with the photo of the day, the reason that i survive the cold. Love.

...and To all of You

Patience - Guns and Roses

Shed a tear 'cause I'm missing you
I'm still alright to smile
Girl, I think about you every day now
Was a time when I wasn't sure
But you set my mind at ease
There is no doubt you're in my heart now
Said woman take it slow
It'll work itself out fine
All we need is just a little patience
Said sugar make it slow
And we'll come together fine
All we need is just a little patience
(inhale) Patience...
Ooh, oh, yeah

Sit here on the stairs
'Cause I'd rather be alone
If I can't have you right now, I'll wait dear
Sometimes, I get so tense
But I can't speed up the time
But you know, love, there's one more thing to consider
Said woman take it slow
Things will be just fine
You and I'll just use a little patience
Said sugar take the time
'Cause the lights are shining bright
You and I've got what it takes to make it
We won't fake it, Oh never break it
'Cause I can't take it.....

-
couldn't get a photo of the nice guitar that was without mE. haha so too bad!..Bro~~the guitar brand is 'valencia'.. does it ring any bells? it's currently fitted with acoustic strings and so my fingers are stinging a tad, but i dun think i can feel them properly from the cold anyways....
niwaes, Last song and i've gotta go~ smell y'all laterrr~

and the saviour arrives: Happy

---I've been watching your world from afar,
I've been trying to be where you are,
And I've been secretly falling apart,
I'll see.
To me, you're strange and you're beautiful,
You'd be so perfect with me but you just can't see,
You turn every head but you don't see me.

I'll put a spell on you,
You'll fall asleep and I'll put a spell on you.
And when I wake you,
I'll be the first thing you see,
And you'll realise that you love me.

Sometimes, the last thing you want comes in first,
Sometimes, the frist thing you want never comes,
And I know, the waiting is all you can do,
Sometimes...

I'll put a spell on you,
You'll fall asleep cos I'll put a spell on you.
And when I wake you,
I'll be the first thing you see,
And you'll realise that you love me.
---

And the guitar arrives! we're on another picnic dunnowhere again! this time i hear it's in a hilly area~ and it's soooo terrible misty! i hope road conditions are ok, or this may be my last post! hope today's eggciting too! Just in case, i love u all!~ tbc.

.My.friends.

My friends are so depressed
I feel the question
Of your loneliness
Confide...cause Ill be on your side
You know I will, you know I will

X girlfriend called me up
Alone and desperate
On the prison phone
They want... to give her 7 years
For being sad

I love all of you
Hurt by the cold
So hard and lonely too
When you don't know yourself

My friends are so distressed
And standing on
The brink of emptiness
No words... I know of to express
This emptiness

Imagine me taught by tragedy
Release is peace...

I heard a little girl
And what she said
Was something beautiful
To give... your love no matter what..
..is what she said..

I love all of u hurt by the cold..
so hard and lonely too,
when u don't know yourself...

A new morning. A different morning.

In a shitty sorta mood. Spent a little time reflecting last night and looking through my previous entries from 2-3 years back! wow. time flies huh~ All those little steps add up to big ones and looking back, perhaps i've changed a tad. Also, last night pushed me into the realness of life. I, along with many others, spend so much time looking forward, that we seem to forget where we come from. It's true that we shouldn't dwell on the past, but we mustn't forget it, because very often, answers to the future lies in the past. Nobody is perfect, so we need to and should learn. After all, as Ghandi said :" Live as if you will die tomorrow, Learn as if you will live forever." Apart from being a great dude, these words, his words makes alot of sense. And where else to learn from except the past, and others(and their past)? I hope i've learnt a great deal, and will learn a great deal more~.

Enjoying a bowl of cereal and pikelets that teagan mades! she should stay over more often! ^_^ cereal is good, and the pikelets are better! Sheesh i think i'm really indulging too much every morning! In fact, i usually eat so full until i only have space for a minuscule lunch. A photo of the chef in action.Last night we had a royal steak and it was good! meats are so much cheaper here (o happy day~) The food here is prolly not healthier, but somehow it feels healthier! maybe that's the reason everytime i come over i put on alot! sighs. exam results today! I hope i dun screw up den cannot do honours! :( wells i dun care wadever i get as long as i'm allowed to do year 4~ I sooooo dun wanna work yet cos i'm unprepared!~ OK i'm back here now with my results and all checked. This sem has reiterated my belief that studying for exams for me is next to useless. I've long questioned the usefulness of studying for exams in NUS, especially because : 1) when i put in the effort to study, my grades do not improve. 2) when i study only hours (if at all) before my exam, my grades do not drop. My grades are unspectacularly mediocre yet AGAIN. Not good enough to celebrate, not poor enough to contemplate self-mutilation. Anyhow, here i am, sitting in my bed while the West Coast Eagles take on Carlton outside on channel3. I'm freezing my ass off now and i am seriously considering saving some bath water for the good of the planet, being the environmentalist that i am hurhur. 1 more week to returning to singapore! While i miss home a tad, i must admit, incredulously, that i'll prolly miss, as well, this rather placid country where my older relatives and the few adorable gnats call home~ It's been a pleasurable stay here with my macbook, DS, cards and my book~ Perhaps later i'll go practice some card tricks. Many say that card tricks need to be practiced, but my skills hardly get rusty, since i know next to no tricks. but practice is good cos it keeps me with something to do, and i get to wow the kiddies here and there haha. Also, i'll spend some time looking into the history of opium in southeastasia since K is bugging me to do it. It's quite funny, but being in the company of so many here, i find that i spend the majority of my day with K on Gchat! haha. Distance can bring pple closer i suppose, tho this isn't closer exactly. lol 'Closer'. haha that nice show btw. Today was cold and drizzly, which meant that there wasn't any activity outside the safe, warmer confines of home. Well contrary to what others think, i believe that one CAN enjoy a holiday just bumming around at home with nice biscuits, good breakfast and a flavourful cup of tea/or the occasional hot chocolate. We had a good round of mahjong today. Sigh. After about 1000 games of mahjong over 10 years, it seems to get a tad boring. Each round used to be a puzzle, yet now it seems like a bunch of algorithms. And there used to be a thrill of winning by great margins and making people Bao when u've got big cards. Well, now all that remains is bragging rights (which actually isn't too bad is it? haha). This is a snap of Isla joy n alyssa joan. To be continued tmrw.

A cold morning + warm love. A good morning

Teagan Jane makes waffles for us. And they are good. Better than mum's, to which mum nods grudgingly.

And then Teagan Jane calls upon her assistant Alyssa Joan to dish out the utensils, and blueberries!
An efficient partnership, with an understanding borne from being sisters. After that breakfast isn't complete without tai-ji's blueberry muffins! Fresh muffins and waffles. Breakfast doesn't get better, especially when it's close to the heart.

Dad's finally up, so we all have breakfast together. Didn't go for a walk this morning because of the slight drizzle. A lazy kinda morning, which explains the entry this early. Oh..i need to get the recipes. Tsktsk. Brb.

Pretty awesome! it's been like more than a year since i last posted, and it seems circumstances are different! In tassie now and surrounded by two spectrums of the life cycle~ The scenery here is quite breathtaking, but then again maybe i've not seen much. these are some photos from my V9 razr~ If the mobile had not been bought for me by J, i reckon i'd've long tested my shotput skills by the tasman sea~ Date's 26th may, and i've spent exactly a week and a day here in tasmania. Here goes.

19th May- Tullamarine airport. Dad decides to test my resistance to annoyance. When the Lord sents someone to help you out with the golf clubs, u DO NOT leave the trolley behind, and in so doing forcing the good samaritan to be your eternal slave.

2pm, upon buying fish n chips and reaching home, i keep telling myself that i must not sleep, lest my body clock gets screwed. i can't believe how quick i've forgotten how nice the weather here can get. 16 degrees celsius on a backdrop of a kind sun sharing it's non-glaring radiance. I must not sleep. I must not sleep. But hey the weather is great! I must not sleep. It's amazing how warm it is in the house. I must not sleep. The lunch has finally settled. Fish n chips is always good. But fish and chips in australia, where the fish is fresh, and the weather is lovely, makes the meal all the more enjoyable. Okay it's 3pm, and i boot up my computer. Check my email and find out that i do not know the passkey for the router. that'll have to wait since i can't get hold of ken. So i decide to play a game or LUX on the macbook. Ok i conquered the world, and it's not 3.35pm. Since i cannot sleep, i decide to play Another game of risk. This time, black(hard AI) decides to gang up with the rest to take me out, before snuffing out the rest of the unwitting players. And it is now 3.42pm. Hmm. Time doesn't pass that fast when there is nothing to do is there? i start up my nintendo DS and play some Hearts. Player 3 reached 106 points in 5 games. And the time reads 4pm. I must not sleep. Even though i am dead tired. I must not sleep. And then i wonder what jeanne is doing. I've left her messages which she hasn't yet replied. Hmm..i wonder wad mum and dad is up to~ and wad bro's doing..hmm..and then i....must not sleep...and then..i realise how warm it is under the doona..and then, it is..DINNER TIME?! i've been out cold for about 3 hours. Dinner had better be good~ and it turns out to be claypot rice. I know why claypot rice is famous in Singapore. It's because it always turns out right there.

22nd May. Bruny Island. It was nice~ probably too nice to describe, so these are some photos. remember the camera, and rethink those questions. hehheh.

That's from the first lookout we chanced upon. I can't quite remember what it's called now. I like how the long part kinda connects onto the main part of Bruny island. Much like how a finger connects to the palm of the hand. See the river on both sides of the land? pretty nice this~ The photo doesn't do the view justice to be honest.

next photo is the view from Cape Bruny(i'm not that good with names..so i can't guarantee it's validity). There is a light house here, but a lighthouse is really just a light house. The view beyond the lighthouse though is of much more interest. It faces an open sea/river. You can't quite see anything beyond the river except a hint of highlands in the blurry distance.

The breeze hits your face and it is cool; The soft purring of grasses wisping around at the command of the breeze; The whispering of the waves against the rocks/shore; All evidence that natural serenity can be found in this age.

Ok from bruny we take the 330pm ferry to rush back for dinner at June and Damian's at 5pm. After the mad rush, we reach their place the wrong side of 5pm, only to find that we're the first guests there! I had a glass of red wine, which was a bit sour, but goes down well. Dinner is served at 630/or 7(i lost track of time) and thereafter footy starts. WB vs Geelong and it's an intriguing game in which geelong winds up the winner by 2 points. By then though, i'm back home, and checking my email, and my restaurant on facebook.

23rd May, and we leave for launceston at 1030. We travel along the midlands hwy, and reach launceston just in time to meet ken after tennis coaching. We go to someplace to eat australian charkwayteow, which comes with sliced cabbage, crabstick, chicken, sotong, carrots. and then, we head to the newsagency to buy a pack of anticols and some soothers. I find out later it's purpose. It's a good thing i travelled with ken, so i had tons to inquire about, life, love, food, family, the likes. I start to notice a pattern. After some silence, ken requests some assistance in freeing a lozenge from it's wrapper, and he pops it, and we start talking again. Which leads me thinking, why anticol and soothers?! there're like so better tasting lollies to keep us awake! omg licorice and medicinal grape?! well well ken likes is, so to each his own~ Ken said he booked some place for 6, but he's not seen the place. Haha we kept our fingers crossed.

We arrive boat harbour just before dark, and settle in. There's a nice woodfire heater and all. Love it. Essondon vs Richmond is on TV, and i'm so glad the bombers snared the tigers with a 40 pt win. Ken decides that he's done watching essendon, and asks for company for a carride to recce the route to stanley. And i hesitantly oblige. Dad follows suit. The winds at stanley is madness. I could hardly open the cardoor against the wind. Standing beside a geographical phenomenon called 'the nut', can decides to take a photo of me and vice-versa. These go into 'the freak children out' category. Freaking cold, shivering hands, bitch blackness. Someone remind ken that the flash on a mobile phone camera doesn't do much in catastrophic weather. And back to the cabin we go~ I shared the sofa bed with ken, and the night was warm for one of us. Apparently i was clever enough to unconsiously pull all the blanket to my side, leaving ken and his paltry modest shorts to the midnight cold. I also booby-trapped the underneath of the blanket with my personal scent to fend off Ken's silly ideas of getting the blanket back. All this whilst i was asleep! Ken may have pulled a fast one on me, but it was a good story nonetheless.

24th May, 620am, we're up, and we leave for stanley pier to do some fishing. We arrive at 715, and the sun is just about to rise. The wind is too strong to bring buckets and fishing kit to the wharf so we do up our rods inside the back of the car, and head out to the wharf, probably the stupidest idea yet. It is freezing cold, and the wind is stronger than the night before, i was on the verge of getting swept away! The waves that hit the shore sprayed up a heap of moisture that got me properly drenched. But WTH whats an adventure without a little danger? We catch nothing because of the low tide, the choppy waves, and the ridiculous wind. I shouldve known when i spotted no locals fishing. We head back back 845am, demoralised, and we tell the usual "well we caught a huge one but it couldn't fit in the car so we had to throw it back" story.

NEXT, we go sight-seeing. Back to stanley so mum gets to contemplate walking up the nut, which she smartly declines, and then to boat harbour for lunch, which includes fried rice, before we visit dip falls, where i actually fell enroute; the irony of it all. It was nice.
Dip falls.
From there we go to table cape, which is a giant cliff next to another lighthouse. Pretty amazing i say..the cliff view is breathtaking. No photo does it justice. It's high enough so that u cannot quite hear the waters. And you can see along the coastline of tasmania. There's also a lighthouse 1km from the site. It's really quite 'omg'. A photo to pique some interest.Next up is a looooong way back to launceston...zzz...talked to ken about music and stuff. We reach and check in at the arc manor and had dominos pizza and salad from woolworths for dinner. Mental note to tell bro that there's a ken has a nice guitar at his place, and it actually belongs to bro. Ken and i watched 'the unborn' and i learnt that odette yustman is not just a movie poster photogenic hottie. I also said hi to sunny, and she allowed me to use some of the korean i learnt i picked up in sch~ like keneun syaworhaeyo~ annyeonghasaeyo~~ she said jeanne was very pretty and i am very lucky. Have to agree on that! ^_^ I followed up with Ken's lucky too and nordo yepeumnida~ I remove my contacts into in a drinking mug with some inviting saline solution. Gdnite. sleep tight. dun let the bed bugs bite.

25th june, Morning, and we have savloys and eggs and baked beans for lunch. Ken goes to work, so we say our goodbyes. Off we go, back to Hobart. We take the tasman hwy on the eastern coastal route, so we get to do more sightseeing. It an arduous route, into the hills and dirt tracks. We see more farms and vegetation, before heading to st columbus falls. We couldn't get quite as close to the water fall as we'd like, but the sight of it was really something. I drank some water and it tasted good. It was cool/refreshing. 2 pics.We also visited a place called ringarooma. WHere there were these chainsaw carvings from trees!~ Amazing. Self explanatory these pictures are, even with low quality.
There are more. But kinda lacking the patience to wait while everything downloads. So onwards commarades! we stop at St. helens for lunch by the pier side. Han sandwiches and nice salad on poppyseed breads. Blueberry muffins. I love holidays.

We head back to hobartttttt...on a long/painful/scary ride with dad at the helm of our vehicle. and reach back at 615pm. We get some chicken from woolworths, and that's our dinner. All in a days work. I boot up my restaurant city to catch up on lost time. level 27 here i come! tmrw i'll change the deco.

May 26, tuesday. Early morning walk at 730, breakfast cereal at 9. Download GG ep.25. 1130am, i follow june, damian, dad and alyssa to watch maddie swim! a pic of alyssa.

After swimming, we dropped by channel court and banjos/mures to buy a pack of 12 party pies, a steak/mushroom pie, a steak/onion/tomato pie, pepper/steak pie, cheese/cauliflower pie, and a pack of fish and chips! i had 4 party pies, and the cheese/cauliflower pie, and took half of jiex2karen's steak/onion/tomato pie! i topped it all off with some communal fish and chips haha.

Took the day off with a nice blissful nap..oh yeah..woke up for dinner, which was a weird kinda noodles (failed) with beef and other veggies. kinda mushy but (barely)pallatable i suppose. Can't get nice food everyday, so i'll take what i get! played jeanne's restaurant city but she's in dire need of the cream ingredient.

here i am. update again tmrw~ gonna MY chiong restaurant city now and overtake sabrina by tonight~ Promise to update tmrw! (if anything of worth comes about) signing off.
