| Waiting for the parade to start |
We had a long weekend full of fun activities for our family. We chose to face the heat head on.
Saturday we (Mimi, Papa, Mommy, Daddy & Paige) headed downtown for the Indy 500 parade. We decided to head down early in hopes of getting a shady spot and enjoying the atmosphere since we weren't sure how long Paige would make it. The parade didn't start until noon and nap times at 1:30. We got a great spot in a shade on a grassy hill just behind the bleachers. The Purdue band starts off the parade which is exciting for all of us but escpecialy for Paige. She just loves the bands. We heard a lot of "more band" "(pur)due band?". She made papa hold her up everytime a band came along. We were so close that the giant balloons were a bit overwhleming.

Sunday we headed over to a friends for a race day party and cookout. For those of you who don't live in Indianapolis there is only 1 way to enjoy the race (other than going in person) you fire up the bbq, sit outside, drink a beer, and listen to the race on the radio. My roommate from college throws a party everyone with for his family and friends so after a few years off we made it a priority to get there this year. Paige enjoyed the kiddie pool they had set up to beat the heat. We had family nap time before we headed of to the Vincent's for a dinner cookout.
Monday we decided we wanted stay home to make sure Paige could take a nap when she was ready after two days of activity however, we let my parents know we were open to guests. My dad arranged for the Lafayette crew to come down for the day. We had some lunch but Paige and Kaitlyn did most of the entertaining for the day.
