Sick Baby

Well the week before last was not fun. This past week was for catching up so I didn't have time for a post. Lets see 1 week after Paige's 6 month appointment she started to have a little cough and I thought should I take her to the doctor??? Well I gave it another day...she wasn't running a fever so we weren't too concerned and then decided, why not, better safe than sorry. By the time we got to the doctor (this was a Tuesday afternoon) I could feel her chest rattling with every breath she took. She was diagnosed with a double ear infection and RSV (respiratory syncytial virus). They gave her an albuteral breathing treatment which helped clear her airways and we were to buy a machine and continue these treatments 3 times a day....so sad. The doc said she was highly contagious and that RSV can be very dangerous so she would not be returning to daycare and I would be home from work the rest of the week. Tuesday night I came down with the flu so Brian had to stay home and take care of both of us on Wednesday and then my mom came over on Thursday and Friday. Brian took Paige back to the doc on Wednesday as we were directed where Paige was said to be much worse and Brian instructed to take her to the ER of her breathing got any faster or if she continued to refuse to eat. Wednesday night she got worse and on top of the breathing issues she spewed everywhere so we decided it was time to take her in. It's amazing how quickly you get taken care of in the ER with a sick baby! Of course, she seemed to be doing 10 times better by the time we decided we should take her and got there so the trip probably wasn't necessary. The poor girl was soooo sick she wasn't herself at all, she could barely stay awake and we were forcing her to eat. This girl normally refuses to sleep and loves to eat. We were so worried but luckily by the time we went back to the doc in a snow storm on Thursday afternoon she had turned the corner. She lost her voice from all of the coughing for a few days which made her sound extra sick but she started to regain her personality on Friday. Brian decided to get sick after Paige and I so we've had a long couple of weeks. Paige is almost back in to her routine with the one exception of waking up in the middle of the night starving, I guess she's making up for the week she was sick and refusing to eat. We also took 2 steps back with her going to sleep on her own so we are starting the "sleep training" over...we couldn't let her cry and cough and cough and cough and cry when she was feeling bad. We are down to 1 breathing treatment a day with tonight being our last so that's exciting :)

No Fun! She hated it!

I don't know how to rotate the video so just turn your head :)

On to another topic...Go Steelers! (Brian doesn't agree but that's okay) Mimi and Aunt Betsy enjoy the support.

She loves her doggy and can almost sit up unsupervised.

6 Months

Paige is half way to her 1st birthday! She is doing great. She rolled from back to front the 1st time a week ago today and just yesterday she was already barrel rolling across the living room. We had a few long days last week and we could only assume she was teething and that was confirmed yesterday. We were able to see her front 2 bottom teeth below the gums and tonight I could feel at least one of them so she has a tooth or maybe even two. She's been eating like a champ including a fine selection of baby food for dinner. She is also trying like hell to sit up on her own but she's just not there yet...who knows maybe that will be tomorrow. We went to the auto show and she was in heaven sitting up in her big girl stroller watching the world go by. Hmm...maybe I should take her to the mall on my days off??? We are also starting to see some real growth in the hair department. Although you won't be able to see it in the pictures.

We go to the doctor on the 10th for her official 6 month well check...I'm expecting they will tell me she's perfect :)

Christmas at our house

Christmas- Part 3

We spent Christmas night in Lafayette so Sunday morning we slept in to try and catch up on some sleep and then headed back to our house for the 4th day of celebrating. We decided to open gifts to each other, Paige, my parents, and sister at our house to make traveling a little easier. We had pizza, watched football, and opened gifts!

Christmas - Part 2

We were up Christmas morning at 8am and in Lafayette by 10 to continue our holiday fun. We spent the day with my parents, sister, grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousin Kaitlyn at my grandparents house. We had a great day!

Stanoch Christmas

Christmas - Part 1
We hit the road Thursday the 23rd and headed for Wadsworth to meet up with Kim, Jeff, and cousin Bryaden at grandma and grandpa Stanoch's house for our 1st of 3 celebrations. We made great time and Paige was a good car baby. We all had planned to treat Christmas Eve day as our Christmas however, Pete's boss had other plans so we opened gifts on Thursday night. Big bummer that Pete had to work Friday but at least Brayden and Paige had all day to play with their new toys before we headed toVigalia (Christmas Eve dinner) with the extended family. We decided to drive home that night so Paige could sleep in the car and we could be in Lafayette Christmas morning. We left Ohio at 9pm and made it to our house at 2am. This would have worked a little better if Paige hadn't decided she was happy and awake until 4am.

The paper was too much fun

A December to remember

I can't believe I've been MIA for the entire month of December. I'm not even going to try and post about all of the excitement but I will try to recap. A few highlights from the month included making cookies with Mimi, meeting Santa, play group with Noah and his friends, a Christmas photo shoot, visiting with old friends, 3 Christmas parties, and 4 days of family Christmas gifts. Paige had a wonderful 1st Christmas. We are thankful to have such great friends and family to share her with :)  Here are some pictures from the month...be on the lookout for future posts Stanoch Family Christmas, Webb Family Christmas, and Christmas at Our House.
