First Fancy Clothes

So I am finally putting up some of my sewing creations. These first outfits were ones I made this week, I saw a dress online and really liked it so I took Samarrah's measurements and got to work. It was a lot of trial and error with measurements and stuff, but I am happy about the outcome (her sleeve did start coming off in Sacrament Meeting, and was held together in nursery with a bobbi pin) but she loves it. And after making such a cute outfit for Samarrah I couldn't leave Ayo out so I whipped up a vest and bow tie, he looks adorable. I love being able to see something and try and make it. I also love that all of these projects were free to make thanks to the extensive fabric collection my mom has.

kids clothes

I have made a lot of clothes for my kids, but realized I only have a few pictures.
Here is a dress and hat I made for Samarrah. the hat was a first try and turned out small for the large heads my children have, but I like the style.

Here is Ayo's hat that is a little big, but it is a size 3T-5T. he loves to wear it, and looks super cool.

This is the first outfit I made for Samarrah, I think it is so fun and very much her personality.

Kid presents

I wanted to make crayon rolls for the kids, but wanted something that could hold coloring books and other things so I made this little tote for my kids and for my niece for Christmas. On the left is a place to stick in individual crayons, the middle is a pocket with a flap that closes, and on the right is a pocket to hold coloring books, and books. They are so cute, I cannot wait for my kids to carry there own things to church.

Towel Cake

Me, Alyson and my mom went to a bridal shower the other day and put together a towel cake. It turned out really cute, was really easy, and we loaded it with bath goodies for the bride. Just a fun idea, a great centerpiece for a bridal shower.

Too much fun!

I cannot believe it has been a month since I have updated this blog, time flies. We have been having tons of fun. Lots of swimming, the kids have always been very standoffish when it comes to water, but now they are little fish, they LOVE it, and we love to see them enjoy it so much. They have such big personalities, it is so fun to see them change everyday. Samarrah loves butterflies, everything is called a butterfly, or compared to a butterfly. She almost never uses contractions, it is so funny to hear her talk, she sounds so grownup. Ayo is getting bigger and smarter everyday. He is talking a lot in complete sentences that I can understand. He is a WILD child. He loves to throw things, and loves when they are thrown at him. He loves Cars and today Samarrah had her tutu on, and Ayo was crying because he wanted a cars tutu. He loves to play pretend wwith his sister. The other day Samrrah pretended to tie his shoe on his left foot and then turned around and he started calling to her to "tie" his shoe on the other foot. I felt really guilty when I was pregnant with Ayo thinking I was robbing Samarrah of something, but I believe we gave her the greatest gift, and Ayo too, they have each other.

Prince has been busy working at Good Humor/Breyers, he has been working 7 days a week 10 hours a day for 24 days now( he has tomorrow off YEA!!) He has also been preparing fr school, he starts his masters program on the 24th. We are so excited for school to start, the sooner we start, the sooner we are done. It should be a fun experience. I am so proud of my hubbers, he works so hard for us. He is so kind and non judgmental of anything or anyone.

I have been bitten, bitten by the sewing bug. In my spare time (naptime and after bedtime) I love to sew. I have made outfits for the kids, Pj's, the cutest hats, and have even finished 3 Christmas presents (for my kids and my niece) I have a lot more Christmas presents to do, and a lot more things that I really want to sew. It has been so fun to find a passion that I enjoy, something for me, even though I make things for other people, it gives me so much satisfaction for that time I have to myself. It has been fun being with my mom and sister who also love to sew. We have comandered the dining room with all of our sewiing supplies, and my mom has endless drawers of fabric so I have not had to buy any (even though I have but only from the remnants bin :) That's about all we have been up to, we love being in Vegas and have met a lot of really great people and been able to reconnect with people we already knew. We are super excited about the coming months, and I promise to be better at this, so much for a new years resolution :) ( and I will post pictures of my sewing creations as soon as they are modeled and uploaded)
