Brunch @ Hatched - Pancakes Medium Rare

Needed a good breakkie the day before my race. Hatched was chosen considering the location and the interesting name that ties to eggs (im a egg lover fyi!). A Coffee lover as well... Darn! Had a near missed for that nespresso machine during my D&D lucky draw. =(

Eggs Benedict is the default choice for many when it comes to breakfast. Sad to say, I had my first Eggs Benedict in Aussieland, and ever since then, it's not that I want to compare, but but but... humans just love to compare, don't we? We compare houses, cars, husbands, wives, gfs, bfs, bffs, jobs... maybe this is a sweeping statement... oh... so ever since then... i have not found one that is comparable... or come close. The poached eggs are too close tooooo runny, it is supposed to be runny, but not the state of runniness and rawness... wheres the hollandaise sauce?! I like my eggs benedict salty... this is not.

Pancakes was a sobz. I ate a few mouthful and i go "wow!"! They actually have whipped cream inside the pancakes??? I was too naive... haha. only did i later realised that it was not half-cooked. So i asked the staff if this is supposed to be that way ( in a very tactful and friendly manner of course, hehe), but she was very apologetical, and immediately got me a new one... The new plate of hot pipping pancakes arrived! it was cooked, safe for humans to eat... no "whipped cream". I like it thick and fluffy...this should be how pancakes are to be like... not some "hotcakes" that claim to be pancakes. But something is missing, the taste. I missed the pancakes i had in Pancake Parlour... a strong hint of vanilla and milk taste!

anyway, they gave me a 50% off the pancakes out of goodwill... Some people were telling me that they should give the whole meal free, or even the pancakes free, for I have eaten quite a bit of the "whipped cream"

This is the one... The legendary Country Pancakes from Pancake Parlour from somewhere down south... you are deeply missed.

Carbo Loading!!! for Marathon!

Shiokie! The best thing about carbo loading issss... I get to eat lots of carbs!!! not fearing of putting on weight... whahahaa...

Caramelised Bananas on Toast with Peanut Butter and Nutella. I think my banana toast rock any brunch out there... like seriously. don't be deceived by the picture cos i am not a GOOD photographer.

and a can of red bull before the race... Good nutrtion before any marathon is very important to prevent one from "hitting the wall"... never did i feel hungry in any marathons so far... and I only use one energy gel for the entire 42km!
that is not all... pictures from my carbo brunch coming up soooooooooooon!

ngkong Tag Eins - Fast Food of the Oriental - Da Pai Dang

We call this the oriental fast food because instead of serving the usual burgers and french fries in a "fast food style", Da Pai Dang serves local food in a "fast food manner". Food wise is defnitely not the place whereby you can get the best food, but convenience is really neccessary when you are in a place that time is the essence for shopping!!! esp when you have 2 ladies with you...

There are more Dai Pang Dang to come, but I really don't enjoy any of my meals here! -_-

This is not rojak...Hee. This is assorted mix of crepes here and there from out of the pan. Cos out of the pan is having 1 for 1 for Uob credit card holders for all day, Monday to thursday.

Tried 6 different ones on total!

1. Bell pepper beef is not too bad. 3/5

2. Chicken tikka - I love the way tikka being fused with western crepes! 4/5

3. Beef something crepe. The crepe wrapped one piece of steak, that is thick and juicy. 4/5

4. Smoked salmon crepe. The traditional way never go wrong. They are generous with the amount of smoked salmon too! 4/5

5. Korean BBQ pork crepe. More pride should be taken for the accompanying kimchi even thou that's a side! 3/5

Taste is very much subjective. =X

Brunch @ epicurious

I came with much anticipation, but I left with... ( you do the fill-in-the-blank for me)

The much raved about eggs Benedict was sold out! Sobz.

Ever since I became a slave driver in the corporate world, I start to crave for good coffee.

The machiantto is pretty good, in fact better than the ones I had in Berlin. But it would be better if it comes in a larger cup instead of a 100ml cup. They ran out of eggs Benedict, did they run out of cups too? Lol.

The baked egg sounds healthy, baked with cheese and shrimps. The fries is cold. The 3 small pieces of bread is pathetic to go with the large cup of baked egg.

The burrito taste great with the salsa. This is the only consolation meal that I had... And I'm inspired to make my own burrito for brunch one I'd the weekends. Hehe.

I need a satisfying breakfast/ brunch! Wild honey all day breakfast is next!?

No time but yes time

As much as I enjoy blogging, I can't really find time to blog frequently due to work and workouts conmitments. =\

5 days dedicated to work.
Tuesday and Wednesday is my running day before work. Thursday gym after work. Weekends gym on both days + swimming on Sunday. Others days dedicated to social "work".

Anyway who was the one who say that I will stop working out after I start working??? In fact my fitness level is improving after it hit the low 6/7 months ago. Strength has improve a lot. Speed has improved. Stamina went down as I have changed to short/mid distance running. Overall I still feel great!

Side-track a lil'. Did you guys watch biggest loser Asia? I'm so inspired by the show ( no, I'm 65kg and not obese). If these over-weight contestants are going strong despite aching bodies, and started out with poor fitness level, how can we laze and not take accountability of our own life? And oh yes, David is a ~}>€~%$€~}!!!!

Planning on 2 off road race this year. Planning to get an all-terrain running shoes, a iPhone arm band to track my runs while running!

Stay healthy people!

Coy CNY lucky draw!

Lots and lots of hampers from our "customers" and "suppliers"... Every hour there will be someone delivering hampers to our doorstep. But due to coy's policy and it is not nice to reject... These gifts were consolidated and distributed in a lucky draw manner. No one knows where these came from to prevent bias judgement or favoritism of our cust/suppliers. This is what I got!

Anw, have been bz like a bee... With everything except blogging. But now that I can blog using phone, hopefully I will find some time to blog at the most unexpected time... Like now... While I'm waiting for my turn to see the dentist to polish my teeth so that this Chinese New Year, I will have the brightest smile and I will Huat big big!
