So Far Seoul Good - Part 4 - Day 2 Breakfast, Race Day, Hyundai Mart

Woke up at 5am automatically, but I still lie on bed until the door bell rang. It was Breakfast delivered to our hotel room!

Club sandwiches and fries??? Fries for breakfast and before a run is a no no!

Actually this is not really a good pre-run breakfast, something light and loaded with energy will be good. For example, peanut butter toast! Not too full, but keeps you with energy for the race later!

Something light and loaded with sugar... bad bad breakfast! Leftovers from our Krispy kreme buys the day before.

Then we head down to the Seoul Olympic stadium...

Banner hung in the air! 7th Korea Open Marathon.

Reporters from China. The New Balance Mascot very cute hor? I also took pictures with them... and with Pikachu mascots as well! now... guess how old am i? haha

Thats me! Look abit like Brat Pitt right? everyone says that too! lol. Can you see that the koreans in the background are all dressed in tees and shorts??? I was in track suit and pants and gloves! omg... It was like a few degrees celcius leh... 2? 4? somewhere there... I was really freezing...

Hello world! Im back!!!

The 21km was tiring, cold... very very COLD....
I must emphasize the COLDNESS, and i was thirsty!

It was very cold and the air was dry, coughing and shivering for the first few km, until my body starts to warm up. But when I reached the riverside again...oh my... it was freezing again.
There was no water point at the ending, only wet sponges... but i cannot wet my gloves, if not my hands will sure freeze... so I was dying for water for the last few km.

Completed the race in 1.50 without deducting the gun-time lag. Timing was certainly not my PB... way off... but ok la... I am glad that I can complete in this freak weather!

and it seems that running in cold weather makes you ultra hungry!!!

I was glad I got Chocopies in the finishing goodie bag, peanut bun and chocolate cake and the banana! I finished all...still feeling hungry!

they have a van they sells Pizza...

A hungry man is an angry man... so we went for our lunch part 1 at a food court at COEX shopping mall, near our hotel. There will be a part 2 lunch later with all the New Balance delegates and staffs!

Pizzas made to suit the local taste... Bulgogi pizza? kimchi pizza!

Our Hamburger Steak... see how nice the egg is... The is what I call sunny side up! It makes you smile just by looking at it! and I don't bear to eat it lor!

Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup - The kimchi is power!

After part 1 of our lunch, we went to Hyundai Mart to buy goodies back for friends and families. Hyundau Supermart is like their NTUC i suppposed...

We were caught in a "seaweed" fight between the over-enthusiatic promoters... so we ended up with a few packets of seedweed per promoter... There was like 3 or 4 promoters there... so you do the maths and you will know how much we bought!

Lots of different types of chocopies!

Singapore Airline Breakfast on departure to Seoul

Now i can blog using email?!?!? How cool is that!

Just realized I forgot to post my breakfast and snacks which I had on SQ, on departure to Seoul!

It was midnight, and I was slogging away for my German test which I will have on touch down back to Singapore. Feeling hungry, I asked for some light snacks and white wine. After eating I feel sleepy and that is it… lol… when I woke up… It was breakfast!

I chose Omelette with spinach. Where is the spinach!? It is actually wrapped by the egg. I find the egg quite tasteless and quite cold. The sausage accompanying it was great. Hashbrown soggy, muffin was ok… fruits was sweet and juicy! Not forgetting the Bread with herbs and cream cheese spread!

So far Seoul good - Korea Open Marathon - Part 3 - Buffet Dinner

After the Seminar/Product showcase, we were famished despite the cookies... but we were in for a sumptuous galore buffet dinner!

Everything looks so yummy and I just wish I could try everything! But too bad... I have to run the next day in the morning =( , and it will be bad for my digestion if I eat too much the night before... so... I just have to make do with the temptations around me... and eat what I deem as eat-worthy!

Lots of pictures... but few descriptions.. because my memory has failed me! lol. My pictures don't look as nice as those food bloggers out there, cos what I use is a Panasonic Compact cam, not the BIG BIG DSLR... =\ So don't expect too much from my macro pics... :P

assorted meats... veggies... korean style of cos!

Smoked salmon and garnishes

Roasted meat section - Gosh... I love meat! Roasted Beef and Chicken

Cold section - Sea Spurts (from sea urchins), White bait, Prawns

Sushi...

Cold section

Koreanish~ Kimchi, and the ingrdients to make Bibimbab. The plate of red colour shreds of meat at the right is beef sashimi! Raw beef... droolz..

I have no idea what is that, just take lar...

Salad

and more salad...

Alaskan Crab!

Dumplings and...err.. Ketupat???

Small cutsies looking stuffs... but i dunno what are they!

Desserts section

The Pink thingy is a macaron

Chocolate Almond cream

Green Tea Cheesecake

Tiramisu

And this is what WE ate... not just me alone k... I must emphasize again.... "WE"

I started off with something cold and light... Sashimi. The sashimi is so fresh, thickly sliced yet it has that "melt" in your mouth kind of texture... The Smoked salmon was not as well done thou...

This was my first time eating Beef sashimi. It taste like beef of cos, marinated in shoyu sauce. Just think of sushi dipped into Shoyu, with the texture of beef. The blurts of orange things are sea spurts, and i think it comes from sea urchins, correct me if im wrong.

Crab Pincers!

This has to be my favourite. Big, fresh and juicy! But it taste much saltier than those I had in SG... but still shiok la...

A slice of roasted beef, roasted chicken, fish, salmon.

Then Harry, one of the korean delegates whom I know over there got me a cup of this. I don't know what is it called, but according to him, it is made of rice ( you guys will now think of rice wine, but nope its not). It taste quite sweet. In fact, it taste like Barley drink to me!

And fyi, he clocked around 3hrs for his marathon 42.2km~ wow... not a professional but an amatuer leh...

gosh.. I miss those crabs.... Think i got myself a few more plates halfway while eating. lol. no pictures to show thou!

Similar to one of the picture above, just that this one has Beef fried rice.

Looks like Nasi Lemak??? But its not larh! This is actually Bibimbab prepared by Harry. The red sauce is the Red Pepper sauce that we need to mix thoroughly with the rice and ingredients.

This is the weird thing... tried a bit and... that is it.

Desserts Galore! The top left corner: Tiramisu in a cup is veryyyy nice! One of the best Tiramisu I had was from a Pizzeria Giardino in CHIJMES, but this is the BESTEST I had so far. The Greentea Cheese cake was splendid as well... never knew green tea and cheese cake can go so well together

Bread and butter pudding... Tanglin Club got nicer ones.. lol...
