Bread Pitt Me - Bento Lunch - Comfortable Toilet

hehe... as you can see... one paper is FINISHED!
3 more days and 8 more hours to my next paper as i am blogging...

And this is my lunch for yesterday! Japanese style meat patty which was absolutely delicious, with a egg ( no eggs i can die... literally), Tofu with minced meat, and cold pasta salad...
We all love chocolates, who doesn't?
We all love bananas, who doesn't?
Or should I say most people...
Chocolate and Bananas are a perfect match...

So we had a interesting dinner...

but unhealthy... I bought the chocolate loaf, and jj bought the banana one, cos we thought of sandwich them together and eat it as one = banana chocolate walnut bread... haha

anyway just for amusement, taken from the toilet in my school library...
Who the hell uses so much toilet paper just to cover the seat?
but it looks very comfortable and well-cushioned thou... =P
P/s: Do check out http://mogubox.livejournal.com : a cool bento website! the first to be created by a singaporean undergrad maybe? or not...

Mug Fest cum Picnic

Exams are coming again! oh dear! but i will still blog as per normal... still remember last semester mug fest... my diet was really bad and all my efforts went to waste... ok. maybe not all... but most... but glad i managed to remedy back :) but its really difficult to study intensively yet not feed your body with some carbs or sugar to stay awake... but this semester, is definitely better than last semester...

Glad I have many health- conscious friends around me.

Last semester... See how bad my snacks was... all the sugars, transfats, MSG and fats and more fats.... but all is history...

This semester...

Biscotti from Amande... very nice and crisp, they sell nice macaroons too as mentioned in my previous entry. This is sinful, but it comes in a small packet and was shared!

Ricola Lemon mint - to satisfy the sweet craving while studying

Mini Ball cake - these are mini starch balls when some munching is needed

Seaweed-not fried, 1g of protein to 1g of carbs, pretty high sodium, high in fiber

Fisherman's Friend - for the sweet tooth - contains sugar alcohol

Protein Powder mixed with milk powder - To fill my tummy in the afternoon... keep you full in a healthy way...

and a lot of sandwiches! made my me and my friends... we are so crazy over sandwiches now... yum yum... many different varieties, meaty ones, lots of veggie ones, cheesey ones... healthy ones.... less healthy one...

Made by me:
Egg Turkey Ham and Cheese Sandwich & Tuna Egg and cheese Sandwich & Kidney beans with cherry tomatoes and baby carrots

Made by my GF:
Ham & Cheese Sandwich
& Egg and Cheese Sandwich

Made by CH:
Salmon Sandwich with tomatoes and celery

Made by Gen:
Ham and Cheese Sandwich

anyway, this was a little conversation we had...

MS: Pasta got wholemeal one you know?
He: Ya, my pasta now is wholemeal
He: Anything brown is wholemeal
Me: You are wholemeal then
He is brown...
too brown...
lol

Almond, Walnut, Macadamia Butter

A few months back then, if you still remember this article, nutty me bought too many nuts... and 6 months later... I'm still surrounded by lots of nuts. So nutty me decided to make my own nut butter today! A few simple steps to make your own nut butter...

Here's my Dummy Guide to Nut Butter making...

Step 1: Dump all the nuts inside the blender

Step 2: Blend at low speed, then high speed, then add in 1 tbs of olive oil and sprinkle some salt

Step 3: Continue blending at high speed, stop and check for texture. It is done when it is buttery and sticky.

Step 4: Scoop all the contents into a nice container, and let it set.
( the oil from the nuts will start leaking out )

Step 5: Endorse your own nut butter, mine is "Almond, Walnut, Macadamia Butter"

Step 6: To be spre

Wanton Mee with xtra meat + meat

I love to eat in school after working out in the gym, cos I can have a nice bowl high protein-packed meal at a very low price. This is Wanton mee with extra chicken meat (that was supposed to go along with Ipoh Horfun)

This Wanton mee sold at Yusof Ishak House cost only $1.80, for a big big bowl of mee... The mee is so much that I can only finish like a quarter of it, and for just addition 50cents, i get a big handful of extra chicken meat added to the wanton mee that comes along with a generous handful of Charsiew and 3 big and meaty wantons...

carnivorous me...

Chicken Sandwich

recently i have been eating sandwiches for my meals, due to my busy busy workload and my lack of interest in all the food stalls in NUS. Engin canteen, I only eat Yong Tau Fu or Indian Stall. Western is a tat too oily for me, malay too... Indonesia Pahang serves lots of rice with too little meat for me... The chicken rice stall also too much rice, too little chicken, economy rice stall just simply cannot make it... The noodle stall is just noodles, too little meat for me too... The vegetarian is damn oily too, and mock meat is not too good for your health... Jap has close down due to its sucky cannot make it sets.. and fish soup stall's stuffs is over-priced with so few pieces of fish slices... with not much choice, i rather eat sandwiches. If I have the time, I will walk over to Arts for my favourite Yong Tau Fu, but i hardly have the time... Sometimes, I will also buy Club Sandwiches from Olive Cove at Engin for my meals... So much bread! But im lovin' it!

Chicken Sandwiches with Melted Cheese, accompanied alongside with Hard Boiled Egg and a serving of Honey Dew and Papaya

Nuts over Peanut Butter

Extracted: SimplyHer SINGAPORE APR2008 on 3April2008

Yes yes... I am a sucker for Peanut Butter... and I happen to come across this interesting article on nothing, but peanut butter! There are so many different brands of peanut butter... and how true are the reviews by this editor? hehe... give me 6 weeks and I will have my own reviews on 3 of the Peanut Butter... The article only review on the taste... Lets look at the Nutritional Content.

Adam 100% Natural Peanut Butter
454g @ $4.25
Skippy Super Chunky (Reduced Fat)
510g@ $4.20
Peter Pan Crunchy
794g @ $3.95

Adams: Transfat free, Very Low Carbs due to no sugar added, with only 1g of sugar which occurs naturally I supposed. Pretty high sodium as it is salted. There is a unsalted version, but it will taste very bland. 8g of Protein...

Peter Pan: 16g of Fats and is also transfat free, but sat. fats is slightly higher. Low Carbs, but higher sugar level of 3g.
Skippy (reduced fats) : Lower Fat of 12g as it is the reduced fat version. But reduced fats would mean higher carbs as you can see. A whopping 15g of carbs, and highest sugar level among all - 4g. Protein is the least, of 7g.

Nutritional-wise - Adam wins

What about...
Ease of spreading?
Intensity of Nutty taste?
Intensity of Buttery taste?
Sweetness?
Saltiness?
Any Aftertaste?
Texture?

Stay tune...
