Azabu Sabo (Black Sesame)

After Miss Clarity, Ice Cream from Azabu Sabo was next. Black Sesame has many health benefits, but thats no the reason why i eat this ice cream... (anyway i was not the one who ate it... my gf ate most of it...=P). Cos im sure this cup of ice cream is loaded with a lot of sugar... bad bad stuffs... but glad its a small cup... always dislike things in large quantity.

Black sesame seeds are good for the kidney and liver, and are a good source of calcium. It also have high amounts of protein, iron, magnesium and are also a good source of essential fatty acids (EFA).

More info: http://sesame-seed.tripod.com/id15.html

Verdict: Its nice... once a blue moon indulgence is alright!

After that, took a walk to Raffles Hotel and saw something interesting! hohoho... will post up soon! :)

Miss Clarity Cafe @ Purvis

Miss Clarity Cafe

The word 'miss' might turn some guys off, thinking that this cafe is for all-girls gathering... but you are absolutely not right! When I got there, there was a good mix of both sexes, so pls... dun be put off by the name, and the pinkish decor... what matters is the food right?

click on the picture to visit their website and take a look at their menu, as my pictures does not do them justice due to the poor lighting in the cafe.

Fish Cordon Bleu
oven-baked crispy breaded fish fillet sandwiching ham & melted cheese

I love this! Generous amount of fish, 2 thick chunks... and the interior is still tender.
Highly recommended!

Reduce your damage: remove the Tartar sauce

Chicken Ballotine - $8.80
oven-baked chicken thigh stuffed with fresh shitake mushroom, drenched with mushroom sauce

The Shitake mushroom was quite tasteless, but there's a lot of it stuffed inside. this dish is oven-baked, so a better choice as compared to the one up there.

Reduce your damage: remove the chicken skin

On top of that, they serve you a jug of ice water at no extra cost, No GST and No Service Charge! One more thing I love is there is no french fries! I detest fries, and im glad by default they gave boiled veg and potatoes...
french fries lovers... top up $1!
=)

Verdict: Will definitely go back again.

Donut Factory e-voucher

Training March 28

Ran 5k today... a fun one but real demanding one.

Original intent was to HIIT at the stadium, but some silly school have Sports Day... So I change my training from HIIT to a very fun training program.

The plan was to run around my estate and whenever i bypass a fitness station, I will do some static exercises + rope jumping (I brought along a rope), then continue my run. I have absolutely no idea how many fitness stations there will be... and gosh... there was 4! I was deadbeat by the time i reached the fourth, hoping there's no fifth... and I'm glad there isn't any!
All in all

All my runs added up to 5k
Chinups (over-graft and under-graft) Leg Raise (Horizontal + Vertical)
Rope Jumping 150 reps per station (Fast)
Push Ups (Clenched and Normal)
Body Weight Squats
Step Ups
Crunches
Dips

"Training need not be mundane and boring, be as creative as you can and add variations to make your training program a Fun and Enjoyable one"

Why you should not eat too much Mcdonalds...

now... tell me, are you still loving it?

CONFESSIONS OF A CORPORATE CLOWN

FORMER RONALD McDONALD NOW VEGETARIAN ACTIVIST

Summer/Fall 1990

Dear Concerned Citizen,

For almost two years I went against everything I ever believed in by selling out to the McDonald's corporate juggernaut by playing RONALD McDONALD to thousands of innocent, trusting children.

Prior to that, I am sorry to say, I also portrayed THE MARVELLOUS MAGICAL BURGER KING in the Northeastern United States doing a children's magic show promoting the glories of meat eating for the Burger King Corporation.

Ten years later, I now realize I have a debt to parents and children everywhere to try and present the truth about the wonderful vegetarian lifestyle to which I owe so much. Toward that end I have developed a brand new show to gently educate kids about their true relationship to the environment, their animal friends, and each other, as neighbours on a dreadfully victimized over-burdened planet.

This show (complete with music, magic and fun) is my way of saying sorry for selling out so blatantly to concerns who make their millions off the murder of countless animals and the exploitation of children for their own ends. Although moderate expenses are expected from sponsors, this is a not-for-profit scheme centered on showing young people the peaceful alternatives of the natural, healthful, vegetarian way of life.

Peace & Love,
GEOFFREY GIULIANO

Hot Cross Bun from Four Leaves

Hot Cross Bun

After my trip to the gym or swim, I will usually pop by at Four Leaves for their wonderful array of bread! Now you should know I am a bread person. Good to replenish some simple sugars back into the body after a good workout... But my all time favourite bread is still my own peanut butter toast with melted cheese... :)

Ok ok...so this is hot x bun... its spiced and it has raisins in it... the cross on it is just pastry glazed onto the bun, but the four leaves version has apricots in it!

Hainanese Chicken Rice @ Yishun

Hainanese (De-Bone) Chicken Rice

A lot of customers buying, but serving time is pretty short as they work very fast and efficient....

Set for 2 @ $6.00

The rice is fragrant enough, the chicken meat is served cool and it goes very well with the warm rice... but the soup was MSGed... so ya.. don't drink it! Definitely better than the hainanese chicken rice stall at the last level of Far East Plaza.

The rice is really very fragrant and the texture is just nice, aint soggy or too dry... but its carbs! bad simple carbs... with butter... so half of it goes into me...and the other half fed the birds...

This stall is located @
Yishun 81 Food Court

But the Queue today was Superrrrrrrrrrrrrrr long... maybe I should not advertise for them anymore...

After that... went to Toa Payoh HDB Hub

There was a competition going on... its Strongman Challenge 2008!

Wow... i was so excited... its like the whole of Singapore Mister Fits are all gathered there... saw quite alot of people from the gyms I go to... then there was competition for the public... and i was so excited and sign up for it!
This is the Challenge!

I was actually quite tired from my gym workout this morning... and this competiton requires a lot of thigh strength and back... and I did Deadlifts and Squats this morning! omg... but well..just give it a try... its $500!

The record was 1:34

So I was in position... anyway those who tried are all very big size la.... big tummy big biceps big chest big legs...all so big... but i am small compared to them... I think the public must be thinking... what is this guy doing here... haha... but its not the size that matters!

1...2...3... I took a deep breathe and Up... i squated like how I did squats this morning, and Lift it up like how i did my deadlifts... lol... and the time starts...

30 secs...

Got one uncle from the public was talking to be and i chit chat with him... he say Go! i give you 4min! You can do it!

1min...

Take a deep breathe... the uncle said... and people were cheering for me... very paiseh... :|

1:10...

My back is aching really bad now...

My Quads are trembling...

My Calves started to cramp...

1:20...

My legs are bending slightly...

1:26...

I bent my legs and was disqualified! =(

So close to the $500... just 8 more seconds!

the money I can use for World Peace and the balance I can go for a feast and blog it here loh... but nevermind... I did have fun... I really did... haha... I well try again next year... and those competitors for the real Strongman Challenge are really strong... *respect*

and this is what i got... the barrel scrap my skin when i dropped it... hope this doesn't spoils ur dinner... lol

Shokudo @ Raffles City

Shokudo - Means Canteen in Jap!

Look around.. does it look like canteen to you?

The whole set up of this place is very marche-like... except that everything is Jap!

Make a Guess... what is this?!?!!?

Salad... looks so colorful and yummy... but i never try them...

More Salad!

Soup! i also never try them...

Assorted Meats and seafood... You choose what you want...and they will cook it for you... The beef skewer looks so thick and juicy.. but i also never eat... =|

Japanese Gelato! i also never eat... =\

Burgers and burgers... i too.. never eat...

Fish Flakes! Such a big packet! I also never eat... cos its not for sale...

Japanese Pizza! $7.80 I ate this! :)

Curry Potato Pizza - Look how thin the crust is... i simply like the thin crust pizza... what for eat so much dough... its just carbs... bad bad carbs! least potato is complex carbs... The whole thing is quite mashy... but the curry is very nice and goes well with the potato... and some fish flakes are scattered on top of it... within minutes... nothing is left... nice! But I want to try the Ebi & Bacon Wasabi Pizza next time! It sounds more like a jap pizza to me... and wasabi on pizza definitely sounds like a darn cool idea...

Unagi Omelette $5.80 - This stall sells nothing but omelettes only... and the Q is very very long... EggS! who doesn't love them!? i eat 3 eggs that morning... w/o the yolk of cos... and plus this omelette...i think i must have eaten 6 eggs in total for that day! The omelette is very soft and still quite runny in the inner layers.. and the unagi adds the yum factor to it... This dish is simply cannot be missed if you go to shokudo...

Scallops $2.50

Grilled Saba $5.80 - on the display, the raw version looks damn big, but the real thing that came out hot is probably 70% of the length displayed, and half the thickness as it was sliced into half... i feel cheated! lol. but I like fish meat..white meat...good meat... add some lemon and eat the meat with the radish bits is nice...

Thats all! Theres so many things to eat over there... but slowly slowly try la.. no rush... spread the unhealthiness over a few visits... dilute the effects! hah!

Indonesian Thai Dining @ Bumba

Entrance to Bumbu

The Interior

I have no idea what are the words on the signboard means

A Peep at the Menu - They have very interesting dishes such as Bumbu Salad; Catfish with Mango Salad; Diced Pineapple Curry Prawn etc

I don't want any soft drinks, so i settled for Chinese Tea - $2

Appetizer - Krathong Thong $ 7.80 - The base is actually some "Keropok", filled with minced meat, diced carrots and green peas, topped with a lot of shallots. A crispy and fragrant dish, but not to my liking.

Belachan Fried Rice $8.00 - The Fried Rice is not too wet/dry, served with egg at the side which is still quite soft and runny, along with slices of mango and preserved meat.

Cold Tofu with Preserved Egg $7.80 - I chose this dish because i love Tofu and Eggs... The Tofu is served cold on a plate of chili oil, topped with Shallots and Preserved eggs. Its a nice dish, but will be nicer if theres more preserved eggs... and the chili oil is actually kind of redundant.
Uh huh! This is a must try! Coffee Chicken $8.80... When this dish arrived on the table, you can almost immediately smell the aroma of the coffee. It has the aroma of coffee, yet its sweet and not bitter, and the chicken is tender and juicy inside.

Sambal Kangkong $7.80 - The least popular dish on the table, probably because its too common. Do not belittle this dish as it seems that there's not much chili, but beware... i find it quite spicy for my taste buds thou.
Stir Fried Squid in Black Sauce $10.80 - The Squid slices is quite chewy as they are sliced thick. It taste more of sweet than spicy.
After burning your tongue, time for desserts!
Tako $2.50

Red Ruby $2.50

This is the Best Dessert - Custard Pumpkin $2.50 - It is actually a warm dessert whereby the pumpkin is steamed alongside with custard at its center, warm, sweet and moist...
Total Damage and Address

Verdict:
Nice place and Nice food, enough for once but maybe not twice
