Buns episode #1

Made buns tonight!!!! For the first time!! 

Woohoo!! 

OMG, I was totally unconvinced with my own skills whether the buns will turn out edible, heheh. cos I kept getting sticky dough!! Now I know the trick is springy dough!!! 

Haha, before food tasting (sound atas but not in reality), I even told my parents to eat with care (in case the dough is too thick and not cooked -.-"" heh). #noob 

eh but of course I Guinea Pig-ed myself first. 

So uber glad it turned out edible! hahahaha. 

Well, the filling failed terribly though. I couldn't get all the exact ingredients and substitutes failed horribly. Gonna try it again this weekend with a tweaked recipe for the filling!! :)

The buns are brown cos I used brown sugar instead of castor sugar. And prior to making buns, I had a crash course reading up on the different types of flour so that I wouldn't use the wrong one. Phew!!

Yay! I had fun though it took 1.5 h longer than I expected. Happy at the turnout (can be eaten), but not at the product yet. 

Baking / pastry is slightly tougher I guess.. exact calculations are so important!!! It's so unlike cooking where I can agar agar and do adjustments along the way I deemed right. :P 

Never mind, it's a great experience where I learnt so much!! :)

The first thing that came to mind is lasagne.
I LOOOOVVVEEE lasagne A LOTTTTT and it's not easy to find places with non-beef or vegetarian lasagne. I hope that the lasagne shop in City Square Mall prosper and live on. hahahaha.
I had always wanted to try to make lasagne but I don't have an oven. So gotta find some alternatives before I try my hand at it! :) :)

Meanwhile, I am hunting for recipes for things I wanna eat. :P


UPDATE: 16 April 2016
I walked past a Pezzo stall frenziedly... and something caught my eyes.
Two small square trays of something placed beside all those triangle slices of medium-sized pizzas.
Did see it wrongly???
Lo and behold -- the 2 small magical trays hold Chicken Lasagne and (Beef) Lasagne!!!
*hearts in eyes*

I had already bought my dinner so another day I will go get the Chicken Lasagne!!!!!! :) :)

Woohoo!!! Finally tried it!! Quite nice though a little on the salty side... and not "mashy" enough. I prefer the pasta sheets to be softer, as though it had melted and blended into the cheese.
BUT good enough!!!! :) :)

Just bought this famous book at 2 bucks!!!
What a steal!!!!

I first read this book when I was around 15-16.
At 16, I barely finished 60% of the book and understood 20% of it.

Now, my target is to finish 100% of it and to understand 40% of it. Hahahaha.

Yay and Nay

Yay!!! 

Finally. I had finally finished this urgent and humongous piece of work after hours of slogging at the laptop and getting backaches and butt cramps from sitting for the ENTIRE DAY (11am till 9pm, minus the time I stood up to cook two meals, that'll be about 9 hours on the chair). 

But Nay!!!!

Guess why I managed to complete that task above??
cos I chose Work over Exercise.
:( :( :( :( :(

If I were to exercise, I think the entire piece of work wouldn't get done, it'll probably be completed 10%. :(

It's all about choices, but that ain't a choice out of choice, but a choice out of necessity.

I could have chosen exercise, but damn, I'll never live pass the guilt, remorse and anxiety of not completing the work. #workaholic
That'll escalate to a shitty week if these feelings (and unfinished work) roll over to the full schedule next week. 

I guess I can still live with guilt of not exercising and compensate with healthier eating.
I can't live with the guilt of not meeting deadlines. 

But I know, next time I'll gotta make a choice to make both items not a choice, but a choice to do them both entirely and greatly. #nextgoal #choices
