After I defined the page requirements of reports (ranging from a few pages to 50+ pages), one said --

So, people who are defined as positive and jovial are people who smiles and laughs frequently.
Or do they see something deeper than that, just that they don't really express it in words? Or it essentially is what we say aura or a person's magnetic field?
When life becomes too smooth sailing at some point in time.. I always take a step back and preform a reality check on myself.

Should I? This is a once in a lifetime experience. I might not even get this chance next year. And from how I see it, I might not even get this chance to go anywhere near there in this lifetime.

There is a momentary silence -- my gamble is not paying off. The other people around the table are looking at me with startled eyes: asking about someone's financial situation is a bigger taboo than sex, more frowned upon than asking about betrayals, corruption, or parliamentary intrigues. ~ The Zahir by Paulo Coelho, p.256

Is it purely inefficiency, or purely bogged down with a lot of tasks to be cleared, or purely silliness and foolishness on one's part, or purely a sense of responsibility?

Recently, the topic of "stress" came out at The Workplace. Inevitably, the psychology student in me popped out, and I dug my memories of where I saw this text below. Lo and behold, it's within reach (both physically books-wise and mentally memory-wise), and there it is:
Chronic stress is another serious form of stress. It refers to stress that does not end. Day in and day out, chronic stress grinds us down until our resistance is gone.
....
It seems that the major sources of stress in most people's lives are what are termed daily hassles. While only minor, daily hassles can be chronic and repetitive. Examples of daily hassles are: having too much to do all the time, having to fight the crowd while shopping, getting stuck regularly in heavy traffic, having to wait in lines all the time, having an unpleasant boss at work, and having to worry over money. Such daily hassles can be chronically irritating, though they do not initiate the same general adaptation syndrome evoked by some major life events. The results of research on daily hassles have shown that, similar to major life events, persons with a lot of minor stress in their lives suffer more than expected from psychological and physical symptoms. (Larsen & Buss, 2008)
Stress is a physical and psychological response to perceived demands and pressures. In the stress response, people mobilize physical and emotional resources to cope with the demand and pressures. A stress response that is frequent, extreme or prolonged can place a large demand on, or even deplete, a person's physical, social and psychological resources. ... Our bodies express this distress in a variety of ways, often in the form of irritability, anger, anxiety, depression, fatigue, tension headaches, stomachaches, hypertension, migraines, ulcrs or colitis. Eventually, stress can lead to even more serious illnesses, such as cancer, diabetes, or thyroid dysfunction. (Larsen & Buss, 2008)
