That's life -- 无心插柳柳成荫

I guess I always end up plunging headlog into things unintentionally and indeliberately, and giving more than I was willing to than when it was initially.
It happens.
Just as with the hall committee, calligraphy (I merely accompanied my colleague), the current co-curriculum programme are things that I did not intend to land in.. but I always end up doing so much more for it, and ended up willingly liking it.
I might even safely say, the few things that I wanted to do, pursued and gladly landed myself in are the following: Huayun28, handicrafts like cross stitch, friendship bands, and last but not least, and definitely not the least in importance, my profession for now.

I shall reiterate what I've ceased to say so for eons: Life is full of irony and sarcasm. (:

I think a part of me derive joy from immersing in their joy and fun. :)

That's what that's been keeping me going sometimes.

Omg, they are so lame yet cute at the same time. Things such as the 青葱，小明很忙, early morning "打抢", otoko-style handshake etc.. I'll miss them lots when they graduate.

爱上一个陌生人

在那仅仅十五分钟不到的时间内，她已经决定了——坚决不要开始……
可是，从那一刻起，他们俩却开始成为最痛苦的单恋者。一个迷恋得不到，一个恋上注定永远是个陌生的陌生人。

　　1978年初南洋大学学生到联合校园和新加坡大学学生一起上课，建国总理李光耀去探视他们，听了学生的话，他心忧如焚。因为向他理直气壮提出问题的，并不 是正陷于苦海的华文源流学生，而是由气得不行的英文源流学生提出，他们认为被这群英文不行的华文源流学生拖慢了学习的进度。由于华文源流学生不明白简单的 英文词汇，导师授课必须中断下来，这使英文源流学生极为不满。
　　当时李光耀说：“我想如果情况倒转，如果新加坡的工厂、银行或资金来自中 国的跨国公司，而假定中国又是工业和工艺资本和知识的主要输出国，英文源流学生必须进入华文大学的话，情况就会大不同。假设华文源流的学生仍然保留强烈的互助习惯，我相信华文源流的学生可能会尽他们的力量去帮助英文源流的同学克服困难，而不致于因为学习进度缓慢下来而对他们有所抱怨。”
　　 然而，自1987年全国实施英文为第一语文，华文为第二语文的统一源流后，新加坡已经再没有华文源流的学生了。即便还有几所幸存的特选学校，以英文和华文 为第一语文授课，但在其第一语文水平并不对等的情况下，新加坡新一代已经全面显示出让李光耀所担心的“风险”——即泛滥着随英文而来，西方“唯我独尊”的 个人主义哲学和个人自由的思维了。
　　过去40年，在“效率导向”的思维主导下，我们认为成绩好的学生就是好学生，成绩差的学生就不是好学 生。我们不容忍成绩差却态度谦卑的学生，容忍成绩好却态度狂妄的学生。如今，来到王瑞杰以正确价值观为导向的年代，是不是要再重新定义什么是“好”？什么可以容忍？什么不能容忍？这个“好”的标准是不是要再重新厘定？

When she gave me all the statistics and data, I sort of felt something died in me... somehow the lack of lingering interest as when someone broached this particular topic in the past.

It just felt like a formality, or was it resignation and hopelessness resounding in my heart?

Or now that I've something else I'm striving for and not want to indulge any time in this?

Why?

Very frustrated.

The hardest thing about churning out questions ain't the questions themselves -- it's finding good, relevant articles with moderate length. That's the greatest pain of all.

And for all I know, recent articles are kind of lacking in lustre.

It's bad to have a data plan when you purposefully stay away from your laptop to stay away from distractions, and you find yourself accessing the Internet/Tw*tter/Y*utube/games from your phone while doing work. Bah.
