Ending

the year on a flowery note.  I hope you like them.

Here's a closer look.  In this first pair I've combined brown, blue, gold and grey/blue with gold hearts and butterflies.

Reds, cream, fuchsia, pink

Rustic bronze/dark red with bronze cream/white and gold hearts

Cream, blue, greens, pinks with gold butterflies

and the classic black and white softened slightly with grey.

Some of the bigger clusters felt a tad heavy so I decided to go with posts instead of ear wires.  Posts are great for making heavier earrings feel much lighter.
A short and sweet post to end the year, I hope you all have a fantastic 2019. See you next year <3

(These earrings will be available in my first show of 2019 in The Earrings Show on 02/01/19)

Pixie beans

Little pixie bean faces by Green Girl Studios were the inspiration for today's earrings.  As always my original plan didn't work.  I wire wrapped cup chain on to some brass circles with a length of cup chain hanging from either side.  The pixie beans on the stick connectors were meant to hang from the middle of the circle framed by cup chain on either side.  It worked in my head but not in practice.  Unfortunately I don't have any photos to show you my failed attempts. I scrapped that idea...after spending at least 2 hours on it.  By this time I was ready to give up and make some simple earrings. I chose these hammered silver plated brass caps....and decided to do some stacking using more caps, spacers, rings and flowers.

The earrings looked ok but nothing out of the ordinary.  I needed to make them look a bit more special.  I punched some holes on to the silver caps and added glass flowers and brass stars.  This seemed to do the trick.  I was finally happy with the outcome.

Here's another view.

And that is all for today.  These earrings are now on Etsy.  Have a lovely weekend.

Persimmon Blooms

Even though it's officially Autumn, these flower beads really inspired me to stop what I was doing when I received them in the mail and head into the studio. They are a gorgeous color! I always love opening my packages from Karen at Arte Bella Surplus! I'm never disappointed. If you haven't checked out her Etsy store, you should!

Orange Blossoms

I recently acquired these gorgeous Czech flower beads and immediately wanted to pair them with Turquoise (that's becoming a habit-put down the turquoise already!). I have also been using a lot of the waxed cording in my jewelry lately and I'm loving the look of it although I need to learn more than 3 knots at this point. :P
You can find these earrings for sale here on my website .

I also made a coordinating necklace, it's available here as well.

Don't forget next Friday is our reveal day for the "We're All Ears" June inspiration challenge.

Thanks for visiting and have a fabulous weekend!

Winter Flowers

Inspired by the subtle shades of winter, I made these Czech flower beads the focal point of my rustic copper earrings. The flowers are a granite color with hints of green and blue, and accents of rusty brown. Accompanied by copper ovals that are also in a floral motif, wasabi green rondelles and darkened copper wire that I have loosely wrapped around the flowers for a casual look.

We are coming into the time of year when a warm weather vacation would be a welcome change. I love this Ralph Lauren crochet outfit, and it would be perfect with my winter flower earrings.
