HAPPY NEW YEAR...
Well, Eric and I had a very eventful, happening evening. We went to dinner with a good friend AND THEN...we went home!! HA! We rang in the new year in our pjs with Mocha and a glass of champagne. Life doesn't get much better, right?? If I were to declare a New Years Resolution, it would go along with that. Enjoying the little things in life. Did I want to go out? Yes. Was I bummed at first that plans fell through? Yes. However, I think we spent the evening as we should have. I was with my husband and our wittle pup, who love me. :)
Since Eric and I have been married I've been making "plans" for us. I've spent a lot of time worrying about where we live, what we do, what we should do next, did we make the right choice, etc, etc, etc. It's exhausting! Who am I to make these choices? I don't have control! While we were in Lawton visiting Eric's family we went to church Sunday morning after Christmas. The message was wrapped around the idea of carrying our "child-like wonder" of Christmas throughout the year. To remember what the meaning of Christmas is, throughout the year. One of the last things the priest said was that we are not in control of our happiness. WHAT?! I've spent SO much time trying to ensure that Eric and I are happy. I feel like I've wasted so much energy stressing out that I've missed out on just being in the moment and allowing myself to be "happy". So, dear loved ones, that is what I will strive to work on this year. Enjoying what I have, loving who I am, and appreciating everything that God has blessed us with. Can I get an Amen?

This blog thing....
Alrighty! I've decided to start a blog for Eric and I...finally. I guess I will start with a little about what we have been up to!
Eric and I were married in July of 2008. Since then, we have been living in Enid and are both working for Enid Public Schools. Eric is in his 4th year as Assistant Band Director at Enid High School. He works with the marching band, symphonic band, jazz bands, and has started an AP Music Theory program. Since being in Enid, Eric has joined the Masonic Lodge. He is currently the Junior Warden of the Waukomis Lodge and is in charge of providing meals for the members at every meeting...which means I've been working on my cooking skills! :)
I am in my 3rd year at EHS as Assistant Chorus Director. This year, I am head of the 9th grade choirs. Needless to say, this has been an interesting year. :) Along with that, I have a voice studio of 12 students that I work with in the evenings. I am also in my 2nd year as Assistant Choral Director at our church. Our jobs keep us very busy but we are enjoying ourselves!! We even get to see eachother sometimes! :)
In May, we added a little addition to our family. That's right, we got a dog! Mocha is our 9 month old chocolate lab that we love SO much! Here is a picture of our precious pup!
Well, this is all I have for now! We'll keep you posted!
