I haven't loaded any videos forever! But I caught Ev falling asleep while i was cleaning in her play pin. So fun! i was trying so hard not to laugh.
Emery is so smart, and funny. She has really caught up a lot to Ev. She kinda side steps and can crawl just as fast or faster than Ev. My sweet girls! We are so excited for Christmas! I will post some pics soon!

I am so excited for Christmas.
Still haven't started shopping. I am starting tomorrow. I know, I know.
Evelyn said quack quack today! And when I say where is the ducky, Emery will go get it. :) Evelyn says ball as well, and sometimes if we are lucky she will say please. But usually she just screams and we are working on it. Emery has started side stepping! She is catching up to Ev quick. She is a lot stronger so it is just a matter of time. Emery loves talking on the phone... when no one is on it usually. She will pick it up and put it to her ear and just go off, she even laughs...it is soooo funny. And they still just love to dance! Music is their favorite! Ev gets a crazy look on her face! They both do patty cake and itsy bitsy spider. They can even roll it and throw it on the air! So cute. They are getting so big! This Christmas is going to be so fun.

Last week I was in a slump, And so Dev invited us over to do a fun lil craft for Christmas! It really did help my spirits! Thank you Dev I love you and your cute kids too!

Here is our lil craft that took us far too long to do, haha three toddlers and a teeny weeny baby can be quite distracting. The antlers are the girls hands, but quite deformed haha. and the face is their foot also deformed from squirming. Can you guess who's is who's? Thanks Dev it is hanging on our fridge! so fun!

Name 6 things that make you Happy!
1: Hearing my children laugh. The most beautiful sound in the world. Besides hearing them cry, when they were born. And how frightened I was when Emery made no sound at all. My heart stopped beating, Thank God hers didn't. She is making up for her lack of noise that is for sure. I love it best when we all laugh together.
2: Creating things, photography, art, poetry...I was born with a creative bone. It has always been something i love about myself. I take pride in the things I create (children included). haha

Their music makes me feel such a way that I can't put it into words. Which is rare for me. It reminds me of no one besides myself. I am almost certain that every single person that reads this has never heard them. Listen to this song. amazing. The entire album. oh man I could go on forever. 2004 brought me the soundtrack of my life.
4: Typewriters... I wish I had more. I wish this blog had typewriter font. man oh man. I have an electric one that is amazing. And I have a vintage Singer one. I really need a Remington. When I use them I feel like Jane Austen or something. Like a "real" writer. haha
5: Jackson Hole: I normally wouldn't put a place. But Jackson hole gives me a good feeling. I love it there, preferably in the winter. The last place I remember my parents being together was in Jackson. My dad was working there. Snow everywhere, we listened to "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree" on the drive. Cody and I watched PeterPan on the pull out couch, and my parents made-out in the kitchen, like junior high kids, trying not to get caught. Being the grown up Shannon that I am, I am glad my parents aren't together, I wouldn't have Trish or Taylor in my life, but the Little girl that dwells inside of me, holds tight to this memory. Jackson Hole was also my own little family's first vacation together. Ironic eh.
6: Only six...darn. Dresses. If you know me well, you know that I never wear jeans or pants at all for that matter. I love dresses, casual dresses, dressy dresses. I feel like a lady. When I have a dress on, I feel eloquent from the inside out.

I haven't taken them to their 12 months well child check yet, but when i do, I will post how much they weigh. We are certain Ev weighs 30 lbs though!

This time last year the girls were still in the NICU, it was so hard having to go there2-3 times a day. Cozy up with them, and then leave in the cold. I am so thankful that this year we can spend the holidays with our families and friends. And I am so grateful that the girls are healthy.
My children are so beautiful. I am very lucky.

13 months old. where has the time gone!
So...Yes I needed glasses! And the headaches are gone! yay!
So I didn't take a single picture on Thanksgiving. I know I stink huh? Anyway here are a few so Debbie and some others aren't mad at me anymore! haha Sorry I haven't posted in so long!
My sweet Evelyn. She gets her feelings hurt easily, and tends to be a little shy around new people, bashful is a better word. It is really cute. She also throws the biggest fits ever! I don't know what to do! She is just passionate right?
My sweet Emery, She is my little thinker. And she gets really mad when sister crowds her space! She loves to feel things, like her mommy.
Evelyn gets jealous when I hold Emery and tries to climb all over me... She also gives loves now and rocks her baby to sleep.
Emery is a crawling machine! She just zooms! It is so cute to watch. She is still a little night owl too, and doesn't want to sleep! For instance right now, she is awake.
I love these pics with Auntie Tay, She is so good with them and they love her lots! And so do I, Just in case she doesn't hear it enough, I am so proud of you Tay in everything you do...I always think of you as a better version of me. Love you.
And I just have to say how thankful I am for my family, they are all so supportive and are always there to help when they can. And my friends. I don't think any one lone person in this world is as lucky as I am to have the friends that I do. And if you know them, you know what I mean. And if you haven't you will wish you did. Meg, Bake, Ty, Charles, Dev, Geo, Brandon...and some others unmentioned, Thank you for knowing my insides and loving them the way you do. True friends are not only difficult to come by, but to keep. I work hard at my relationships and it pays off.
And Derek, I've said this before but, Love is not perfect and neither are we, but I love you no matter how imperfect are we. Thank you for all you do for our family.

So I have been having horrible vision problems! Blurry and I can't focus, reading street signs is getting more difficult. I have had bad night vision for a while but I just decreased rapidly in the past few days. all this is causing problems in my everyday life. I have been having horrible migranes, and driving is becoming more and more difficult, I never know what I am going to get when I get in the car. I have an appointment Tuesday. wish me luck, someone told me it sounds like cataract when i explained in detail what was going on. I really hope not! But I wouldn't mind some glasses!
This UFO dust made me want to die. We didn't notice the label that said 100% habenero. It was so painful. It is a long boring story but I had to share. I put it on my tongue and was expecting salt like flavor. oh no, my tongue still hurts.
Waiting in line for 6 hours in the cold for twilight was worth it! :)
So I went there in a dress. I locked myself out of my car with no jacket. When i went to Titanic in 97 I got to wait inside, so I thought we would be able to. I was sooooo cold. Luckily Trish and Derek came to the rescue! Blankets and pants and jackets and a spare key!!! I'm not giving away any spoilers. But the movie was cheesy. and the part in the meadow made me laugh out loud, you know when he goes into the sun! hahaha but that part is cheesy in the book. Other than that I loved it and I wanna see it again. It was surprisingly funny! Dry humor that I dig. :) Besisdes the screaming girls and the guy behind me announcing his every opinion it went well!
Evelyn has bee throwing tantrums that are quite entertaining. And Emery hasn't been feeling well I think she is cutting teeth. More pictures soon!

Last night was The Naked eyes, cd release...I am good friends with the boys in the band. They really are so awesome, even if I weren't friends with them, Seriously...check them out sometime!

So the girls tonight decided that they would rather not go to bed...
So we got them out of bed and they were being so funny with eachother until i got the camera out. They have been playing and laughing together so well. I was almost in tears from them laughing so hard!

I just wanted to tell my mom how much I love her and how grateful I am to have her. She is such a beautiful person inside and out and I think it is easy to forget those things about ourselves so

Sorry this post is not about the girls if you would like to quit reading now...
With everything that has happened in the past few days I have been thinking a lot. About the future, and my children and the kind of women I hope they become. I hope that they would never vote to keep two people from living how they choose, whether they themselves believe it is right or wrong. I hope that their faith in whatever higher power they choose doesn't make them question their inner morals. I hope more than anything, to MY God, that they never think abortion is ok, but more importantly that they never vote to keep women from being able to choose their own path, whether that path is right or wrong.
I think more than anything God is love. More love than we could ever imagine. And sometimes I fell like this "nation under God" has been ridiculous. Why don't people spend more time energy and money on fighting against drugs in their neighborhoods instead of if their gay neighbor should marry his boyfriend or not. I believe what our nation prides itself on is that fact that we are "free". And In many religions, they believe we have free will. God gives us choices. If we have freedom of speech why not freedom of marriage, even if it is "wrong" in God's eyes? I wish we could just allow others to choose what they will.
I have a few gay family members, and whether I think what they do is right or wrong, I believe whole heartedly that they should be able to be with someone they love, and they should be able to have a damn piece of paper too saying it is legal. I think that abortion is murder and very wrong, but if someone wants to choose to do it, I think they should be able to. It is their choice. Free nation my a$$.
I will teach my children right and wrong. I will teach them to have an open heart, open mind, and open arms. I hope they are compassionate, and passionate, and forgiving, and understanding...and above all, I hope they are not quick to judge.
