Busy! Busy! Busy!

Well I know I haven't been real good at keeping this up lately but as the title shows, we've been so crazy busy with family life...but then, that's a good thing right?

A lot has happend in just the past year since we had Alayna. We sold our house in West Jordan and built a new house in Herriman. This picture is before our hour was completely finished. We are loving our new home, it's been a huge blessing to our family.
Caleb got baptized in October! Yes our little guy is getting to be a big big boy. It was an incredible experience for Jon and I, and I'm sure for Caleb too. We are so proud of him!
Thanks to everyone for the support and joining us in this exciting event, Caleb was so excited to see everyone there!

Well, we had a nice Thanksgiving with family. We cut our Christmas tree down and got it up in our new house...it looks beautiful. We are excited to have our first holidays in our new home. Hope your holidays are wonderful! Merry Christmas.

We are moving!! Our house has been under contract for the past month, and we just found out yesterday when we are to be moved out of our house. We will be completely moved out by this Saturday morning:( We knew this day was coming, but somehow it snuck up so fast, we are so sad to leave such great friends and will miss this house full of family memories. Jon & I have pondered long and hard about this move, we really feel good that this is the right thing for our family. We are planning to build a house in Herriman and feel this will better accommodate our needs and longterm family goals. We are excited to get our new house under way. I hope the transition won't be too hard on the boys...or us. Wish us luck! We blessed Alayna a couple of weeks ago. It was so nice and Jon gave a beautiful blessing. Thanks to all who came to support our family on Alayna's special day.

IT'S A GIRL!!

Our surprise is here and it's a girl! We were so excited to welcome this new little miracle to our family. She must have been excited to get here and meet us too because mom pushed two times and she was born. Alayna is a good baby and her siblings were excited to meet her when she came home. We are still adjusting to having 4 kids, but things are going pretty well. Thanks again to all our wonderful family and friends that have been so incredibly helpful and supportive. This was a couple hours before Alayna was born. I look happy because I was dialated to a 5+ and had just recieved the epidural ( I love modern medicine!)

Mom & Dad/Grandma & Grandpa Gillis were there with us when she was born, it was such an exciting moment. We had all of our family waiting standby on their phones to see if our baby was a boy or a girl.

Jon and I were excited but really nervous, I think I was more nervous than he was actually.
My delivery Nurse, Dr. Barton, and a student doing his residency...it was his first time seeing a live birth. They all were awesome! This is the day Alayna and I came home. Our kids met her for the first time because they weren't allowed in the hospital. It was hard for me not to see my kids for 2 1/2 days...I missed them so I was excited to get home and see them. My little Brookie all the sudden looked like a big girl. They all had fun holding their new baby sister.
We are excited to have Alayna a part of our family, and feel very blessed that she is healthy and that all went well.

Our 2009 Thanksgiving & Christmas

We hope that all of your holidays were relaxing (ha ha) and very special.

We had a nice Thanksgiving at home with family, then spent the rest of the weekend up at the cabin where we enjoyed games, sledding, and of course our anual Christmas tree cutting. Grandpa took all the kids for a ride on the snowmobile; woo hoo!

Jon is cutting our beautiful tree. We got a fun bushy one this year!

A couple days after we got home, we put our tree up and decorated it. It looked so pretty.

I usually make pies this time of the year. This is my first apple pie of the season, it turned out so pretty I had to take a picture. Doesn't it make you want to go make a pie so you can eat it... I think I will. Yummy!

Our Christmas season was a lot of fun, busy as usual but fun. We of course did our visit to Temple Square to see the lights, and that is always fun.
Logan's Pre-school did a field trip to the Golden Living Center where they sang Christmas songs and gave out Christmas cards (made at school) to the residents there. They all did such a cute job, and the kids had a lot of fun...this picture is of Logan and his cousin Katelyn who also attends the preschool. They look cute!

Here is our Christmas family picture I never got out, the Christmas season snuck up on us so quickly and we have been trying to get ready for our new and last addtion coming soon. So sorry everyone that you didn't get a Christmas card this year, it's been a crazy one for us. Thank you for sending one to us, you will get one next year...I promise!

Every year on Christmas eve, we sit down as a family (as I'm sure many of you do as well) and talk about the "Christmas Story" and what it means. It really brings the spirit and I love the stories we read. It has become a tradition for our kids to open one gift, which is always their new Christmas pajamas they get to wear to bed. Here is a picture of them in their new jammies.
The boys got robes this year...they were pretty excited about that.
Here is a picture of me 8 and 1/2 months along. It's still amazing to me after having 3, that babies can fit in our tummies... what a miracle it is.

Hopefully Jon won't kill me for putting this picture up...he still looks handsome though, especially after a long Christmas eve night getting only a few hours of sleep.

This is our 3 little monters out on Grandma & Grandpa Gillis' sledding hill, they had a riot!
We had a warm, enjoyable holiday season this year. We feel very blessed to have what we have, and have made some good New Year's resolutions with our kids for 2010. Now we are just waiting for this new baby to come and excited to know what gender it is. I have exactly a week left before the baby comes...that is if I don't go early (so really, any day now). The kids are so excited...Jon and I are a bit nervous too and hope that all goes well, and hope we can keep our sanity. ha ha
Happy New Year to everyone!
