Post Army Half Marathon Run

Each time I go through the 21k run, I tend to have different experiences; no difference this time round. This time, I have taken a more relax approach to finishing the run, experience the beauty of the city in it's full glory - the sight at Sheares Bridge is absolutely gorgeous, the shimering office lighting of the office towers against the nitesky, and the slightly hazy reflections in the dark still water. It's sights like this that made Singapore such a beautiful city.

Then after a detour to the East Coast Park, it's a jog back to the City. Kindda amazing, running through Dhoby Ghot, in the midst of newly built SMU buildings, NLB and the shopping district. More importantly, the roads are usually filled with vehicles, but now, almost half the road is filled with joggers~ haha~ it sure is an experience that one can't get in a normal day. ^_^

The run sure is a easy one, given the cloudy weather and cool air, though slightly humid. I finished the race quite effortlessly in around 2:50...

I must admit though, I didn't really push myself much to complete in a much faster time, which might be my only regret for the whole run; to me now, completing a half marathon is simple, almost intusive, given that this is my 5th run, I think it's time that I push myself harder for the next run, to complete the 21k run in sub 2 timing. Until then I would have to work on my 3rd Singapore Marathon, a goal of sub 6 would be ideal and satisfying... *Grin*

Dear Brother left for Beida

It was definitely an emotional day as I see my brother off at Changi Airport. Living together for the past 21 years and suddenly I wouldn't be able to see him almost every week - I mean physically. It'd definitely take time before I get used to that idea.

The sendoff at Changi Airport is quite amazing, around 30+ came to Changi Airport to send him off. I wonder if I were to be the one flying off, would I get such a attendance? It's definitely a though to ponder upon - how well have I treated my friends.

Oh well, the scholarship opportunity is definitely a great chance for him to explore what life has to offer to him, through difficulties will people grow more resilient against the harsh conditions of life. I didn't have that chance to go UK to further my studies, but definitely, I would want my brother to have the experience of studying overseas.

This new phase of life of his life has also motivated me to perform better - just imagine : my brother is a scholar. For the past 3 years, I've been getting by of Uni life, not really contributing in whatsoever ways and acting more like a leech. It's time to pick up my pace to complete the course and go on with what life has to offer. It's gonna be tough given that I haven't really given my full focus on it, but that also mean that I could utilise what potential I have in me to the max.

Well, time to work on it.
