Zva Creative September DT Blog Hop!

Zva Creative and our talented Design Team welcome you to join us for our September Blog Hop! We are happy to have you join us and hope you enjoy all that we have to share with you along the way!

The Blog Hop begins at Zva Creative's blog! Be sure head on over to check it out! Leave a comment there for a chance to win an extra prize package just for visiting the blog and telling us that you stopped by! You will also find a complete list of all the participating blogs there (in case there is a glitch along the way).

As you know, Zva Creative offers many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals. We want to make sure that they shine bright for you, so each designer was will be sharing a creation using a specific color or color combination on their blog hop project. If you like what you see you can find a list of stores and online retailers that sell Zva HERE.
My ZVA Colour this month was red so I chose the bright and happy Alora Collection from Bo Bunny to coordinate with my red flowers and newly released red bling from this past CHA.

To add a little more texture to my project, I added a little gesso paint around the edges of my papers as well as directly applying it to my flowers and leaves.  You can also use gesso or even white paint as a nice whitewash to tone down any particulary loud patterns or colours in papers that you would still like to incorporate into your projects.
To play along with our design team, just follow along the blog path. I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Hidden on FIVE of the designer's blogs is a Zva Creative prize package! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

The Blog Hop starts today, September 24th and runs through 11:59pm US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, September 25th.

The 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, September 26th on Zva Creative's blog. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to Zva's blog on Wednesday.

All you need to do is leave a comment on this Blog Hop post... you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. However, the more times you comment along the blog hop path, the more chances you will have to win.

We also thought it would be more fun to add even more chances to win our blog hop prize! To increase your chances of winning:
* Comment to let us know that you posted on your Facebook page about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
* Comment to let us know that you "tweeted" about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
* Comment to let us know that you asked your local store to carry Zva creative products. If they already do, that's fantastic, maybe you can suggest other products that they don't carry.
*Hop over to Zva's blog and leave a comment there to tell us that you made it there!

The blog hop begins here at Zva Creative's blog. Your next stop is Nicole Martel. Enjoy!

Thank you for joining us!

P.S. Mark your calendar to join us again on October 29th for our next Zva blog hop!

Happiness

I wanted to share with you all, a layout I created using the Bird Song Collection from Graphic 45.
If you have yet to see this paper collection - you will go totally crazy over the bold colours and breathtaking imagery - something Graphic 45 does amazingly well with all their collections.
Vintage inspired with chinese characters and symbolism - so gorgeous! I also discovered that this collection works wonderfully with the tones in Olde Curiosity Shoppe.  Another thing I adore about Graphic 45 - everything you need to create your project can be found somewhere within one of their collections!! I also added several metal elements to my layout - Metal tags, Metal Brads and a new metal drawer pull which you see above (I just cut off the pull part).
Butterflies and chipboard is from Olde Curiosity Shoppe Collection.  Lots of wonderful layers and textures - lace, chipboard, paper, burlap, twine, metal...
Thank you so much for stopping by today!! Until next time!

A Ladies' Diary Card & Tag

Happy Sunday! A quick post today to share a few creations that I created using A Ladies' Diary collection from Graphic 45. Both of these were featured in the booth at this past CHA Show!
I added in some pieces of chipboard from Imaginarium designs and painted several of my embellishments in a cream colour to enhance the vintage feel.
Thank you so much for your visit today! Hope you have a wonderful week ahead.

Magic of Oz Altered Wine Set

Happy Saturday everyone! What a beautiful day we're having here - super sunny and still hot!  Just puttering around today and trying to work on some crafty things at the same time.  Thought I would share with you an altered wine box and wine bottle that I made for Hallowe'en using Graphic 45's Magic of Oz Collection. This also appeared in the most recent issue of Crafts 'n' Things Magazine!
I took all the hardware off the wine box to start and then measured out each section for my papers.

To secure heavier metal pieces like this ornate metal door plate, I used a very generous amount of tacky glue and left on its side to dry.  I also added some faux stitching to my papers BEFORE securing to my box.
Once complete, I reattached all my hardware and added a few tags and metal pieces to complete my project.
Thanks so much for your visit today!! Come back tomorrow and I will have more scrappy projects to share!

All I Ever Creations

Happy Wednesday! I'm here to share a card and tag I created for 7 Dots Studio Design team using the beautiful All I Ever Collection.
The beautiful flowers are from ZVA Creative and the metal hinges and brads are both Graphic 45 - I simply painted each piece for a more vintage/shabby chic feel.
Here is another simple tag I created using the beautiful 7 Dots Papers and metal embellishments from Graphic 45.
Thank you so much for your visit today. I'll be back tomorrow with a fun and easy Hallowe'en project for Graphic 45!

A Little Detour

Last week the Bo Bunny Blog hosted a challenge where the design team had to create something that they would not normally create or scrap something that they would not normally scrap.  For this assignment I decided to do a card - which I have done more of lately, but my true comfort zone is still 12x12 layouts. In addition, I decided to do a masculine card vs. the very romantic, frilly and feminine cards that I normally create.

Bo Bunny Supplies:
Dimensional Stickers: Detour
Rub Ons: Detour
Patterned Paper: Quote, Stripe, Arrow, Destination/Detour
Cardstock: Vintage Chiffron

Thanks so much for your visit today!! I'll be back again tomorrow with some more scrappy cards and tags from 7 Dots Studio!!
