NEW Graphic 45!

** For the ZVA Creative Blog Hop, please click HERE **

Happy Monday to all my wonderful blog readers!! Today is a special day!! Graphic 45 has released a new collection called Nutcracker Sweet and it is to die for! Here is a sneak peek at this wonderful holiday line. If you would like to see more and get your hands on these goodies before you can buy them, head on over to their blog!
I also have a new layout to share with you all today featuring papers from Graphic 45's Ladies' Diary Collection.  I am so in love with this vintage inspired line - so soft and delicate!

I combined some flowers from ZVA Creative and fussy cut some imagery from the papers as well.

I love working with different textures. It creates a beautiful kind of deapth to my projects. Here I've combined some wonderful chipboard from Imaginarium Designs, with a metal clothespin from Graphic 45's Staples Collection.
Both the chipboard and clothespin were painted white and inked pink around the edges.  I also seperated the clothespin in half so that it fit on my layout a little better.

Thank you so much for popping by today!  I'll be back a little later tonight to post my winner from the Graphic 45/May Arts Blog hop! Stay tuned!!!

Zva Creative June DT Blog Hop!

ZvaCreative and our talented Design Team welcome you to our June blog hop!

The Blog Hop begins at Zva Creative's blog! Be sure head on over to check it out! Leave a comment there for a chance to win an extra prize package just for visiting the blog and telling us that you stopped by! You will also find a complete list of all the participating blogs there (in case there is a glitch along the way).

As you know, Zva offers many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals. We want to make sure that they shine bright for you, so each designer was will be sharing a creation using a specific color or color combination on their blog hop project. If you like what you see you can find a list of stores and online retailers that sell Zva HERE.
As you've probably guessed, the colour I have been assigned this month is PURPLE!! The new Happy Haunting Collection from Graphic 45 was absolutely perfect for all of ZVA's flowers and bling!
I've also used a generous helping on my new friend Gesso - in love - on several of my flowers and around the edges of my page as well!

A little layering action for ya!  What time is it??  HA!!
If you would like to play along with our design team, just follow along the blog path. I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way!

Hidden on FIVE of the designer's blogs is a Zva Creative prize package! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

The Blog Hop starts today, June 25th and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, June 26th.

The 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, June 27th on Zva Creative's blog. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to Zva's blog on Wednesday.

All you need to do is leave a comment on this Blog Hop post... you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. However, the more times you comment along the blog hop path, the more chances you will have to win.

We also thought it would be more fun to add even more chances to win our blog hop prize! To increase your chances of winning:

* Comment to let us know that you posted on your Facebook page about our hop

* Comment to let us know that you "tweeted" about our hop

* Comment to let us know that you asked your local store to carry Zva creative products. If they already do, that's fantastic, maybe you can suggest other products that they don't carry.

*Hop over to Zva's blog and leave a comment there to tell us that you made it there!

The blog hop begins here at Zva Creative's blog. Your next stop is Jolanda Meurs . Enjoy!

Thank you for joining us!

P.S. Mark your calendar to join us again on July 30th for our next Zva blog hop!

Graphic 45 / May Arts Blog Hop - Final Day!

Welcome to the last day of the Graphic 45 and May Arts blog hop! Wow, this week has been so wonderful! We are having a blast getting to share this great week with all of you and thank you so much for your participation and continued support!

Today's hop consists of the following designers:

Maiko Miwa: http://shiny-scrap.blogspot.com/
Tara Orr: http://eachmoment-onlyonce.blogspot.com/
Jinky: http://jinkyscrafts.blogspot.com/
Leah: http://1alabasterowl.blogspot.com/
For my project today, I decided to create a baby card using the new Little Darlings Collection from Graphic 45.  The gorgeous ribbons from May Arts were the perfect compliment for these delicate papers.  I used a beautiful pearl & lace trim on the front of my card and secured a sweet tag using some more elegant ribbon.
Now, what would a blog hop be without some PRIZES!?  Graphic 45 is actually having TWO giveaways!  All you need to do is leave comments on each blog (especially mine - LOL!) during the hop and you will be entered into a random draw to win this awesome prize pack below.  Winners will be announced on Monday, June 25th on the Graphic 45 blog.
In addition, I will be giving away a prize pack worth over $50 which includes Graphic 45 products as well as May Arts Ribbon.  Wanna win???  All you need to do is:
1. Leave a comment on this blog post
2. Become a follower of my blog (if you aren't already)
3. Like my new Facebook Page
I will draw a winner on Monday, June 25th!

About Graphic 45:

Let our products  inspire your next scrapbook layout, card, album or home decor project.

About May Arts:
May Arts Ribbon was founded in the early 1980’s in Riverside, Connecticut.  The original products were high-end silk flowers imported from Taiwan, which were decorated using quality ribbons. The  decorative ribbons proved so popular among customers that the business gradually evolved into a dedicated ribbon wholesaler.   As a family-owned and operated business, May Arts began a long-standing tradition of quality, affordability and exceptional customer service.  We are dedicated to carrying on this same tradition by offering high quality products at competitive prices. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff is always happy to answer your questions or to assist you in placing your order.
May Arts carries a wide selection of quality ribbons to choose from; such as grosgrain, silk, satin, burlap and a variety of prints and patterns.

I hope you've all enjoyed this splendid day! Thank you all so much for joining us! See you on Monday morning when all the lucky winners will be announced!!

Remember

In the Cultural Extras Challenge over at the 7 Dots Studio Blog, we are sharing projects inspired by the places we live: our neighborhood, city or just our favorite place all around. I love where I live!! BC has to have the most amazing climate in all of Canada! I don’t know where else you can head up to one of the local mountains for a morning of skiing and finish up with a round of golf all in the same day. We are very fortunate to live in a beautiful, friendly neighborhood – close to parks (we especially love our bunny park where we feed bunnies, ducks and even geese), schools and our local dyke which makes for a wonderful, daily walk. Our little town is home to a quaint fishing village which is overflowing with history and culture.
We are also a stone’s throw from the ocean which we vist at least once a week. The kids love building sandcastles and wading in the water.  Here is a super quick video of my wee ones playing in the waves a few weeks back.
The layout I have included for this challenge is of my son last summer at one of our favourite local parks. He was in heaven floating his home-made boat down the little river.
As you can see, I've ventured out and tried my hand at a new medium - Gesso!  Oh my, I am so addicted to this stuff!! You will definately be seeing more projects adorned with this lovely substance in the next little bit!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Until next time!

Attention Seeker

So my eldest is a titch of a picky eater (enormous understatement) and on this one evening he was having particular issues eating the last of his veggies at dinner. I wanted to videotape him so I could show him (later) how silly he looks when he makes such a fuss about something as silly as carrots. Well... it seems as though someone else is in need of a little attention wouldn't you agree - ugh!

Discovery

Happy Tuesday to you all! We are down for the count with my boys having pretty nasty colds so while they are sitting quietly watching Pokemon, I thought I would take a few moments and post my latest project for Graphic 45.
I created this layout with the beautiful Olde Curiosity Shoppe Papers.  To create my circular layout, I first started with one of my extra large crochet doilies for the base.  I then used a kitchen plate to trace a circular shape for the centre of my project.  To add a little peek of the burnt orange hue, I punched out several strips of paper and added them behind my doily.
More layers and distressing here as well via a little acrylic paint applied to my doilies, on top of my metal accents and to the tips of my flowers.
Thanks again for stopping by!! See you soon!

Funtoolas Guest Designer

Hi All!  Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  We attended a few parties, did some backyard fixing up and of course enjoyed the usual lounging around.  I am so excited to finally have the opportunity to share some scrappy projects that I created with the June Kit From Funtoolas.
